Sweet stuff, first time hearing about your RTT package which was an instant download! Would love to see your approach to quickly changing samples, polybuffer~ with multichannel implementation could be pretty sick
Hi! first thank you for the amazing video series on sequencing with max, loving every minute. I just want to point out (in case you didn't know) that the waveform˜ object already takes a "line $1" message (float from 0. to buffer duration) that will draw a vertical line and you can use instead of the transparent slider on top :) however you cannot change the color or appearance of it.
Really nice tutorial! I followed every step and everything worked until 16:08. I'm seeing the same click in the scope as you did, I'm not able to fix it. Been trying everything for an hour. Also when I scan manually through the sample backwards with the mouse it's basically just crackle noises, but there's no sound when I scan it from start to end. Not sure if that is normal or if it can give some clues. Any tips?
I am having trouble with the playing the sample region area I do the exact same thing as you however its not outputting anyway near what yours is like the numbers
Hi, thanks so much for this video! I am wondering how you copied and pasted that little bpatcher attached the wayform object at the 8min mark - the one that allows you to change the draw mode and select a certain time selection? I am having trouble copying it so that I can paste it like you did. Thank you!
oh yes, i’ve run into that before, but i don’t know why. for whatever reason max can’t find either the abstraction or the icons, all of which should be bundled with the Max application. i guess the first step is to figure out what’s missing, then track it down. let me know how it goes
Thanks great video. I have a lot of question, but one is for the wave object attribute, warp, clip, and i don’t remenber but there is 2 option more. And i would like to knows what they do. Also it could be fun, to read 8 same wave objects to emulate a granular synthetizer, if we can do that in rnbo i will appreciate a lot, i make a lot of mistake with buffer and rnbo that drive me crazy 😂. Oh yes if we can read all this wave object with an ease function can be a good addition 🙏
i'll show you an approach i like to use in a future video. the short answer is: the classic way to do polyphony in max is with poly~, but poly~ requires messages. RNBO also has a very elegant voice management solution (that is much easier to use than poly~), but again, it requires messages. so if you're OK with sending MIDI-style messages then you can use one of those approaches if you want to remain totally signal-based, then you have to do things another way, which is what i'll show you in the future video. at a high level what we're going to do is make a cascade of sampler voices inside a gen~ patch it also bears mentioning that there could be ways to achieve polyphony with mc, but there are some issues (see 16:55 in my mc.midiplayer~ video)
I do love wave~. People are often enamoured by groove~ but wave~ is so versatile and lends itself to all sorts of clever things.
wave~ always and forever
great tutorial! really good way for people to learn how they would potentially build a sampler in gen
thanks and haha! that is exactly where this is going

thank you! yes, love that idea.

oh great tip thank you! i didn’t know about that
you saved my university project

it's tough to diagnose over youtube without seeing the patch, but i'm happy to help on discord. here's a link to join my server: discord.gg/waE73JcE

hey there! happy to help diagnose on discord. it's hard to talk about patching in youtube commnts. here's the link to the discord: discord.gg/waE73JcE

Hi , thanks for those patch. Seems like scala can t be download today ... other possibility for tuning the pitch or speedness for playbak ?
i'm sorry i don't understand the question!

that’s seb, lots of great ideas here! more on this soon
could you add a tutorial that includes timestretching?
i'll try! never attempted it before but this forum post is very useful: cycling74.com/forums/granular-stretching-in-gen-issues
👏👏👏
how difficult is it to create polyphony from this?

mc all the things!

04:04 sounds like QOTSA "Song for the Dead" th-cam.com/video/eFg1AGuAGYA/w-d-xo.html
Not to split hairs but playlists do respond to signals!
It can be pretty cool - nice things with scaling and floor/ceiling stuff in gen~ when starting with a ramp
ooh haha. should have been a 1 minute video then!
@@p__meyer haha sorry, not to imply that :)
@@DerGrosseKrieger of course i didn’t interpret it that way. thanks for catching the mistake!
@@DerGrosseKrieger yessss i think maybe the next video we will just build this same patch in gen~ and then expand from there
