This was the scene where Miller had the ship's orbital arcs hovering in mid-air when he was in his apartment explaining what he thought was going on to Octavia (the female Star Helix officer who had feelings for Miller).

The nuke wouldnt spread the blue goo, it would destroy it. A plant uses sunlight to grow but if you hold a magnifying glass over it you'll burn the plant to a crisp. The nuke would break down the blue goo to its constituent atoms within the nuclear plasma.

As someone who’s seen my share of Expanse reactions, I’m really enjoying yours…. But man oh man the guy on the viewers’ far left must be a hit in movie theaters.
I you look at Mormon temples here on Earth today, there is often a golden statue of an angel on top of the tallest spire. This is what you are seeing on the Nauvoo. A golden statue at the end of the central spire of the Nauvoo. The Nauvoo is a vast cylindrical drum with massive engines at one end and the angel stature on a spire at the other end. Also, it should be obvious by now that Erinwright knows a lot more than he is revealing and that the OPA are just on the sidelines and have nothing to do with the stealth ship, which is tech way beyond what they have access to. The OPA is not building the Nauvoo, Tycho station (an Earth corporation) is. Tycho station is in Belter territory hence there is a strong OPA presence there, but they are not running it. Fred Johnson, ex Earth Navy, is the Bossmang there.
Amos is not blood-thirsty nor is he itching for a fight. He is just ready to use violence when it is called for. He was just as happy not to shoot the Martian boarding party after they got the correct code in the previous episode.
I can't remember if it's in the show but the Mormons are planning on heading to Tau Ceti which is the closest star (12 light years away) that's similar to our own. IRL there's evidence of at least 4 super-Earths, with 2 in the habitable zone however there appears to be an extensive debris disk meaning those planets are probably at risk about 10x more impact events.
Happy to see in the comments that the sound issue has been seen too. It is clear to me that the mic used is only recording when it recognizes speaking, causing a delay where the initial syllables are lost. I don't know enough about technology to assume that a directional mic would solve that issue. it will be clear in the next episode that it was in fact the Anubis and not the Scopuli that was the ship from Phoebe station, but more on that later! It's probably worth a moment of study over the course of the show to note how fans refer to characters by first or last name, particular the women. For instance, practically everyone refers to Naomi Nagata as "Naomi" while referring to Chrisjen Avasarala as "Avasarala." The same thing happens with other female characters later in the show. They will very consistently be referred to by fans by either first name or last name. It's not necessarily a matter of the character's age, either. That is the statue of the angel Maroni on the prow of the Nauvoo. Mormon temples often (or always...I've only seen a couple) bear that statue. I suspect the Roci AI labeled Kenzo as "Canary" based on Amos' remark. When Miller said to the Mormon, "You're getting out at the right time," you had just seen the news report of increasing tensions between Earth and Mars. In this series, background details help tell the story.
So many background details, I feel like we miss some despite nabbing a lot of them! The day will come when you all can let us know what we did see or didn't see that surprised you all!
Just in case this becomes necessary, the "last episode of book one" is season 2, episode 5. Not 4. For what it's worth, a lot of people will recommend watching season 2 episodes 4 and 5 back-to-back.

Something to note: the OPA as I understand it is not one unified organization. There are a lot of different factions. So if the OPA is behind anything (not saying it is or it isn't) it is very possible that no one else knows. As I understand it for example, Anderson dawes heads a faction based on ceres and Johnson has his on tycho.
It seems unlikely that the Mormons would plan and fund some kind of intricate plot to get Earth, Mars and the Belt into a conflict that could escalate into war across the entire solar system, only to also fund a generation ship to take them to a solar system (probably Alpha Centauri) 100 years away, thus washing their hands of the Sol system. It just isn't plausible. Not even for a James Bond villain.
The Navoo and the station in the end of Interstellar are the closest ships I've seen that look like the object called Rama, in Arthur C. Clarke's book, Rendezvous with Rama. In a few years director Denis Villeneuve will give us the real, full scale artificial world ship. Meanwhile, I enjoy this amazing ship of The Expanse.
Babylon 5? Sure it's a station, but it's close. The Elysium station in Elysium also follows the huge ring principle, and the halo games also have a huge ring world/station. It's pretty common in sci-fi. 😉

So the ship name is not only a reference to Don Quixote but also to this Rush song. You already know it, this show is dense. But between all those important details, hints, and foreshadowing, there are also dozens of hidden references to pop-culture, other shows, movies, music, and books. There is a Simpsons reference in every season. Did you catch the Terminator reference when Miller went to ask for a Sherpa? The name of the shop was TechNoir. I could go on forever here... ;)

Reaction suggestion. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is almost entirely unexplored by TH-cam reactors. Just two seasons, a fantastic branch of the timeline following T2 (which has been done to death already).
Totally agree. The lead actress is Lena Hadey ( Queen Cersei from Game of Thrones ) along with Summer Glau ( River Tan from Firefly ) and they're both killing it. Its a fantastic show that sadly got cancelled way too early. On the timeline its between T2 and T3, very respectful of the source material, it does not fucks up the movies but adds a lot of context to events we're already familiar with. I highly recommend it if you like the franchise.

Different characters pronounce Amos' name differently. There are at least 3 different pronunciations. More like real life, to be fair. People from different backgrounds and with different accents will pronounce some names differently. You'll see this repeatedly throughout the show with different characters' first and surnames. It's not just Anoobis An-you-bis...

The Belt also spins up asteroids and is currently building the biggest spacecraft humanity has ever built. They have top engineers and lots of knowledge. Not every Belter is a poor rockhopper. Now all it needs would be someone who funds it...

What is "extremist" about Holden's family is that they are patriot holdouts who have not bowed down to the Euro-centric socialist U.N. State. They retain land ownership and engage in the production of farm goods and trade. The Mormons are holdouts in a similar manner, though on a larger scale operating in finance and medicine. Most people never had the resources, will, and luck to have escaped the iron fist so long. Mars got lucky by developing a very valuable resource that gave them the edge to revolt and break away from the U.N.

I appreciate it! I(Mikey, left guy) watch a lot of reactions to shows I've finished. I can understand the science behind reactions, what I enjoy and don't enjoy. We try to minimize talking over scenes because the worst is when a reactor is talking / arguing over important parts. And The Expanse is all important! Every bit comes back

The Belt also spins up asteroids and is currently building the biggest spacecraft humanity has ever built. They have top engineers and lots of knowledge. Not every Belter is a poor rockhopper. Now all it needs would be someone who funds it...

You guys could really benefit from better sound, there's a lot of background noise (like a fan or something) and whenever you speak it's very distracting.

@@732ReviewCrew If you had a directional microphone close to you guys it shouldn't pick up the AC nearly as much. Ideally you'd want one for each of you (the closer the better) but a single directional mic should still do wonders for your audio quality.
Yes! We are looking to upgrade stuff slowly, just started this channel about 2.5 months ago. So we are looking at shotgun mics I believe

I appreciate it! I(Mikey, left guy) watch a lot of reactions to shows I've finished. I can understand the science behind reactions, what I enjoy and don't enjoy. We try to minimize talking over scenes because the worst is when a reactor is talking / arguing over important parts.
