Mine has 20 inch wheels which IMHO has the best tire available for this car. Super comfortable ride. It rides like an S class while driving like an M5. 615 hp and 888 Torque. It is beyond words how this car drives. I am planning to get a GT but now that Lucid added the Heat pump for all the models. 2022 Air GT owner, I only had two trim errors, and the first service call corrected them. I never had an issue with the response time of the nav system, but honestly I don't use it, I use my phone, like 99% of the world does. The only reason I stopped using my phone as my key is that my office is right next to my garage, and it was locking and unlocking constantly. Other than that I really loved how it performed. Key fob issues...Never had them. Keycard, has come in handy once or twice. The Glass roof was an issue for me heat wise, even after I put 95% Xpel ceramic tint on the glass top. I finally added the roof shades, and that has done the trick and adds a bit of thermal insulation during the colder months. The speaker system isn't just the roof change, My service tech and I identified an assembly error that happened at the factory that has been reported so it doesn't happen again. On the front door panels (where the bass comes from) there is a hole just behind the speaker mount, and they were suppose to seal that hole with metal tape. In my case one had electrical tape, and the other had no tape. Once replaced that "knocking" sound went away, but the performance of the system IMO isn't great. Leg room in the back is extremely nice, and when I have passengers, they love it. I never carry cargo in mine. It is a luxury car / special event outing vehicle only for me, and I will not even take it out in the rain. You are EXACTLY right, I'm in Smooth Mode 99.9% of the time. Range in King, and if you only want that power, go with the one trick pony. I agree with you on the GUI, and the software. There are some very frustrating things that LUCID's team just don't think about. For example, they monitor if someone is sitting in the passengers seat, but only for the airbags, why not monitor for all applications like the massage seats etc...Just like the back, I discovered that if turn off your screens to clean them, it will lock the screens EXCEPT if someone moves to the back seat (like my detailer) then for some odd reason, they do not lock. I also mentioned to Lucid that since they monitor day light for the headlights to come on, then the back sun screen should come down when the lights come on, and if you want it up, then you can turn it back on...seems like a no brainer but no one is thinking about this stuff.
Final thought, I agree with you all the way. While I drive my Bolt for the miles, or my Truck for work, I look forward to getting behind the wheel of my Air GT. But I learned a long time ago the way to keep a special car special is NOT to drive it everyday. I got mine Jan. 5th 2023, and to date, I have just over 5000 miles on it. It still has the new car smell, and each and everytime I drive it, it feels special.
Good Video, take care and good luck!

I've been buying premium performance cars (mostly German) for almost fifty years and am now on our second Tesla (a 2021 Model S Plaid that replaced a 2015 P90D). The Lucid Air Dream Performance on which we took delivery in December 2021 remans the finest balance of power, handling, ride, room, features, and structural solidity I've ever owned. I lived through the software teething issues of the first two years, and there were rough moments on that front I'd rather forget. But the car itself was and remains an automotive engineering marvel.
I'm pretty sure the Air will stay in our garage longer than any other car I've owned. Just as the reviewer here, it is a car I literally pine to be driving when I find myself behind the wheel of anything else, the Model S Plaid included. And we're chomping at the bit to get in line for the Gravity Dream Edition SUV that is due later this year. It is the first EV candidate I view as a suitable replacement for our Odyssey minivan as a group hauler for elderly friends.

    • @blakespringpasturemortimer9168
      @blakespringpasturemortimer9168 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@Roy-AlWildNinja I'll start with the non-software elements.
The Plaid accelerates a bit faster off the line. However, its front end comes loose more easily than the Lucid's, making the Lucid's power a bit more usable. In pretty much every other non-software aspect, the Lucid pretty much trounces the Plaid.
The Lucid interior is quieter and much roomier. With the driver seat in each car set to my preferred driving position, there is 9.5" more fore/aft legroom in the rear seat of the Air than in the Plaid. (We invariably take the Air when carrying rear-seat passengers.). The more pronounced scooping out of the door panels makes for more interior width in the Air. The materials in the Air are much nicer, both in look and tactile feel.
By 10,000 miles the Plaid had developed squeaks and groans in its rear quarters. With over 25,000 miles now on the Air, it remains rock solid.
The interior and exterior fit and finish of the Air is considerably better, and the Air was delivered with fewer initial quality problems than the Plaid.
Now . . . the software. Although our Tesla software has not been entirely problem-free (the key fob still will not consistently open or start the car), the first 10 months with the Lucid was software hell: slow, constant glitching, features randomly becoming inoperable. However, Lucid turned the corner with UX 2.0 which came along in October 2022. The frequent OTA updates since then have now fixed almost all the software issues. I view software as just an element of the overall operating controls of a car. With Lucid's better use of physical switchgear for turn signaling, vent and temperature adjustment, passenger audio controls, I now find the Air an easier car to operate than the Plaid.
The Air still inexplicably lacks the sentry mode of the Tesla. On the other hand, it has several useful software features lacking in the Tesla: birds-eye-view display, ability to read a USB music stick, CarPlay, dual satellite maps that allow simultaneous zoom-in and zoom-out views and different compass orientations. (It also has some nice hardware features lacking in the Tesla, such as motorized shades for the rear window and rear passenger side windows, great seat massagers, and much more adjustable front seats that extend thigh supports, adjust shoulder bolster widths, etc.)
I never use ADAS systems in any of our cars, as I love to drive even on long trips. However, this is the one area where Tesla still holds a clear lead on Lucid -- even knowing FSD is more hype than delivery. Lucid has the camera and hardware suite to deliver Level 3 ADAS, but its software is not yet up to Level 2 requirements (although they say that's coming soon through an OTA update).

In Casa Grande, Arizona, where the car is made, my wife and I just couldn't fathom the thought of an all glass roof. A traditional roof and windshield is the ONLY way to go. The roads of Az are horrible and we have to regularly replace windshields, I don't ever want to think of how much that would set my insurance company back, 2x a year. And, of course, the insane thermal load is no longer a concern.
The updates and improvements were needed. This is the FIRST car they made, all made from scratch and it was a home run. It appears this updated car is a Grand Slam home run.

I really hope Lucid succeeds. Good to see solid tweaks for 2025. Standard heat pump even on the RWD cars is very nice to have. We're at the point where ANY brand new EV coming out should have a standard heat pump--it's too much of a range hit to exclude it. Would love to see a price cut on these cars, $71,400 is still a lot of money, although it's much better value than opting to buy a base Taycan.
Since America arbitrarily demands SUVs now, the Gravity could prove to be a cash cow for them. Can't come soon enough, and hopefully every lesson they've learned from the Air gets baked into the Gravity for an amazing experience.

Your reviews of the Lucid line was a big factor in my switching from the Tesla Model Y to the Air Pure (I also previously had a 2015 Model S). The software is not as mature as the Tesla but I knew that going in BUT in all other respects I agree that the driving experience and quiet luxury is much better than any other car I have driven. There is now no other car I would consider in the EV luxury sports sedan line. I looked at BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, and the other players, including the Model S and all of them could not compare with the mileage, fit and finish, trunk and frunk capacity, and styling. I do not need a crossover or SUV and this car is absolutely wonderful for a pure driving experience (no pun intended). Thanks again for a thorough review.

@@falxonPSN It is common for startups to have a number of funding rounds. Issuing new shares is how corporations grow. Tesla last raised new funding in 2019, 9 years after their IPO. Factories are expensive. The Saudi PIF owns 65% of the LCID shares and is all but certain to buy that percentage of future issues. Lucid is likely to need between 1-2 billion per year through 2028 (my estimate) to build out their target global manufacturing capability and product line and reach self sustaining cash flow. For myself, I'm thrilled to see the Saudi oil giant pivot toward "Green" industries as they diversify their domestic economy away from dependance on oil. Lucid is just one part of their sweeping Vision2030 plan. As it stands today they are funding us, not the other way around.

Lucid stole a lifetime BMW customer. We have the 2024 Touring but have driven all other trims and years besides the Sapphire. All have driven perfectly and are way more engaging than you would expect. Great balance and responsiveness while maintaining a smoothness that next snapping competitors don't. The i5 competitor is actually slower, but is so much less smooth that you're going to make all your passengers vomit for the first month while you get your bearings. The Lucid bodywork team needs to work on fit and finish and the interior team needs to work on squeaks and rattles, but service is happy to give you a Dream/GT loaner and spend a week hunting for solutions to your problems. The list of shit I gave them at the beginning to fix was unbelievable and they didn't complain for a bit. Just to make sure you identify what to fix and they will fix it. Oddly, they don't do that for their loaner cars, so things are a little visually wonky sometimes. So far though, they have not tried nickling and diming like BMW. Happy customers. The most annoying thing about the car is that every time I talk to a Tesla friend, they bring up what a non-handling, rattling shit box their Tesla is. It gets old

Lucid has lease deals going on through July 31 so I just picked up my lucid air pure though it’s a 2024. I do have to say it’s the best driving car I’ve ever had and the Santa Cruz interior with walnut accent is beautiful.

    I’m sure it’s a great “free” car😁
