Thank you for being fair aboutr discussing the show and staying away from all the ugliness in the star wars world lately.
Thank you for focusing on the lore that’s been established and trying to see connections that are being made. I feel like other more channels are hyper focused on rage. I definitely feel like Disney let Star Wars as a franchise down during the sequels, and some of their projects since have been ham handed, but all this hate towards these witches who aren’t far off from the night sisters is insane. It’s just an interpretation of the force from a order disconnected from the Jedi. It might hold some truth, but this isn’t definitive. At least let the story play out until you make your decision about it “ruining” Star Wars
There is a distinction that is important here that people seem to be ignoring. Osha and Mai were created with the Force, not by the Force. With Legends not necessarily being cannon, people seem to be unaware that Darth Plagueis used the force to create life, and act that i believe (been awhile) is the action which lead to the Force creating Anakin in the first place. An act to bring balance back to the force because of what he had been doing. The force is itself an entity in this universe and thus the twins and Anakin's conceptions are not truly the same, and thus I don't believe this episode has broken cannon in the way that a lot of people are upset about.
Legit, if anything it adds to the reason anakin was created, these witches creating the twins using the force would in turn set the force out of balance, which further validates the force creating anakin in retaliation to these acts, like to me it justs adds to the chosen one prophecy I don’t understand why people are upset
and if you think about it ...who says that the Witches created both mai and osha ? maybe the Matriarch created Mai and as a response the force created Osha to balance them out since osha is shown as a very compassionate person compared to her sister

Since the dawn of time, the human race has wanted stories about heroes, about people who chose the path of good. A road full of bad decisions, impossible to avoid, because it is easier to be a bad person than a good one. We want motivation in everyday life because despite this tragedy, most people want to choose well even though it is the hardest decision you can make in this material life. Yin i Yang are more than politics. It's about being aware of your decisions. The problem today is that in your minds the differences between good and evil are blurred. You don't know what you are choosing. Evil and Good will never change, they are the forces that rule this world before us and long after us.
A TV channel aimed at a young audience doesn`t need a story about a character's journey down the path of evil. Youth, especially American youth, should listen to stories about good heroes because their journey is much more difficult and important to listen to.
You won't be able to present the story of two sisters in other paths, you have too little creativity and are too limited in your ability to understand only the path of evil.

Ashla and Bogan technically are canon in a sense since they’re referenced in Star Wars rebels as the lasat understanding of the force and the dark side

Ashla appears in the opening of The High Republic (Phase One) novel, The Rising Storm. Elzar Mann goes there to meditate on his terrifying visions of The Nameless, The Drengir, and The Nihil. It's definitely canon.

Why do these witches sound like the Sith? I understand we're supposed to see them as Grey, but clearly, they sound like the Sith.
Why do they appear to use sith sorcery as well? So many holes in this story so far, either they're purposefully misleading us or they hadn't thought about it enough.

I didnt like episode 3 of the show, but I enjoyed much previous 2 chapters. The latest episode was quite goofy IMO - coven's chant, the fire (I know Mae didn't start it, BUT I PREFER NOT TO KNOW, TO BE SURPRISED AT THE END), the force sparring between the witches... it's just badly written and executed.
I do not agree with people complaining about breaking the canon by redefining the force - in my opinion it's quite smart to have different groups understanding the force in their own way. Just like in the real world concept of God is understood differently. I like this approach.
What I don't like is taking away a part of Anakin's uniqueness- he's the chosen one do his conception is special. Or was, because now we have twins born with no father - just like Anakin.
Star Wars is a story located in a vast galaxy, there's so much space for creativity, yet Disney chooses to be repetitive and lazy - Lucas made death star, so disney gave us death planet. Lucas made Anakin conception special - disney repeats it with the twins. Empire? First Order!... it's really quite disappointing.
I'll keep watching the show, though I hope that next time we receive something as gripping and mature as Andor or entertaining as first 2 seasons of Mando
Thank you for your analysis as you provide so much history. I loved the 3 original Star Wars Movies but Star Wars is bigger than that and I am glad that others have expanded the Star Wars Universe to include the Old Republic...And High Republic, which tells stories of other force users that are not Skywalkers! These stories make the universe bigger and allow Star Wars to survive!
Great breakdown… still is an absolute mess of things 😂 this storyline is so full of obvious plot holes that contradict the original 6. I don’t even care if you like the original 6 or not, it was written in the contracts that Disney couldn’t change the story of those 6 movies. This show might as well be treated like comics and books at this point. None of this is canon, all of it is fan fiction. When someone writes a story that intertwines with the already established mythology PEOPLE TEND TO RESPECT IT MORE. Do better.

I don't understand why so many people have an issue with the witches. The mother created the girls with the force, or used her embryos cause women make those, but the Force itself made Anakin. That is a vastly different.
From what I read ... There was an early draft for Episode 3 in which Sidious confirmed that Plagueis had in fact created Anakin using the midi-chlorians / force.
Whatever way it is, the show doesn't really seem to destroy anything thus far.

The Night Sisters believers of Force Laws and Force Gods. But they did not form until Allya was banished to Dathomir from the Jedi Council.
But this means that we do get to see Allya in its earliest stage of Night Sisters unification after her banishment.
But that may be a character we’ve been hearing about in Star Wars canon for so long that may be appearing in Acolyte.
This does lead to the question, though? What did the Sith do to lower Night Sisters of their numbers?

Thank you for not overreacting. I enjoyed the episode, although i do think it was the weakest of the 3. Excited to see where the show goes from here. This is literally the only channel where i can watch Star Wars content with a creator actually focusing on the content instead of culture war. Thank you

Honestly, I've genuinely grown tired of the "canon" problem in every franchise, of everything needing to be tied so needlessly together. The Expanded Universe was often a mess, and so are Disney's additions, but they lack the fun of Star Wars. I'm sorry, but the way I see it everyone giving this show the time of day anymore is just in denial about anything in this series, and some others, being worth a fraction of the money they spent on it. This one needed a lot more time in the oven. More rehearsals. More acting coaches. More writers. The special effects teams too. The hubris of the lot of them for not putting it on hold after the backlash to the first two episodes, and taking another closer look at WHY in the editing room is inexcusable. I cancelled my subscription after episode two, and no amount of "director's cut" bs after the fact will get me to waste any more money coming back. I gave Disney enough chances to pull their act together, and The Acolyte is what we got for our time, money, fairh, trust and patience. It's just another inconsistent Expanded Universe backstory that means nothing and goes nowhere, just like much of the stuff Disney immediately retconned into Legends. Canon doesn't even matter. It's all hackneyed copying and pasting from a million sources and influences, some of them terrible ideas, none of them original. If this had always been marketed under a "Legends" or "What if" brand for the franchise, instead of "canon", with a much lower budget, everyone would be perfectly fine with it, bad script, bad acting, agenda and all. That's how it should be; test an idea and see which one sticks with the target audience BEFORE dropping such an obscene budget. This is like lending money to the sibling you know from experience is going to smoke, drink and gamble it away without ever paying you back despite their promise that "they won't use it like that and will pay you back."
A lazy, knock-off culturally appropriated yin-yang symbol ain't gonna change my mind either. They've just made the twins be the characters out of that mythology. Such an original idea... change a few names, maybe their whole gender, and get away with it? Hell, what's the story with this pronoun thing mentioned coming in episode 4? Is one of them actually still the male half of the yin yang, but they prefer to be identified as a different gender? Honestly, I'm concerned for those child actors. Something is rotten to the core with the whole Acolyte project.

I liked the episode and am disappointed in Star Wars fans for not seeing how this strengthens previous canon and giving in to hate. the witches manipulated the force to create 2 halves of a chosen one while the Jedi use a hands off approach and follow the will of the force which created Anakin.

I half agree, I subscribe to Darth Plagueis trying to make life via the darkness and the force creating Anakin instead, I think Mae's origin gave the Sith the idea that they could do this. Imagine if they succeeded. I think you're right about the twins, more Yin and Yang.

-Mae and Osha were NOT created by the force itself, they are the product of the witches manipulation, which we don’t yet know how they did it, they were actively created by the coven.
Anakin was born naturally from the cosmic force ITSELF, the force wild him into existence to destroy the sith.
Star Wars hates Having fathers starting with Anakin and now with the twins.
Anakin had a reason at least. How come they are making children using the firce lime Plaguis did but not angering the force.

I watched it, I truly did not understand how they thought stone walls and floors could just set aflame so easily like that. Did they polish their entire fortress with a highly flammable oil?
@@sonman63 tbh the writing from a purely writing standpoint is actually quite simular to how the prequels were with their story gaps.
I watched it and didn't like all the episodes. A Jedi killed himself by drinking poison and then these Space Witches who are trying hard to make Anakin Skywalker look insignificant? That is one of the dumbest things I've seen from the Disney Star Wars. It doesn't follow George Lucas vision. The music feels out of place.
