    Just a tip when taking out the parts that are glued in with the adhesive DO NOT JAM your entire pick in their to attempt to prior out, sure it might be easier but if you don't know the CAD of the phone don't force your way through you might damage some circuits or worse at the expense of making it easier to disassemble.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes that is true, however I usually take apart the device once on my own with more care one time around, and then the 2nd time I record it so I know what I'm generally going to be talking about and instructing as well as to speed up the video process and not have a dragged out video. As far as using a pic and going to deep, yes you can always damage any cables or circuits that may be in the way however if there is anything in the way I will usually mention it in the video so people will know not to go too deep in certain areas which can damage something. But thanks for the heads up, I always tend to use caution as much as possible. Any tips and suggestions are always welcome.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you! Honestly I would go with the ROG. Razer phone is good as well, but the ROG has more than one method of cooling it down and the overall design of it and how the cooling is handled makes me believe it would cool it more sufficiently compared to the Razer. The razer primarily bases off its vapor chamber while the ROG has not only the vapor chamber, but the carbon cooling pads and the large area copper heat spreader and on top of that the add on external back cooling body fan.

    So, how are we going to replace the cracked LCD display? are we going to break everything to reach the LCD? and it cost real expensive.. or is there any simple way to directly replace the broken LCD display without touching as many part as possible? can U explain further more?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yea the only way to replace the screen would be to disassemble the entire phone so you can disconnect the cable, remove the front screen portion with front assembly and replace it with a new complete screen assembly, and reattach the screen cable to the main board etc. There is no easy way of doing it, and does require time and patience. Basically once you take out the main board and all your left with is the screen, frame, and battery, you would then pry off the battery and put the battery on a complete screen with frame assembly and reassemble the phone. In the future, when parts become more available you will find complete assemblies for the screen for sale online. You will probably find just the screen's alone as well. That would be harder to do since you would have to pry off the screen from the mid frame and then reattach a new screen with adhesive back to the frame, but that's doable as well. Hope this helps

    • @triple7th89
      @triple7th89 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PBKreviews I see. Thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I am quite sure the phone will physically degraded over the repair. Maybe scratch during disassembly activity. And do you think the performance will degrade as well? For example, heat dissipation decreasing due to removal of processor from heat conductor or air trigger malfunction after repair work?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@triple7th89 Hi, the only thing that might degrade is the back cover adhesives and such. If you don't replace the adhesives then water and debris might get in easier than it would if you had not taken it apart. If you use heat and take off the housing pieces carefully and not bend the metal piece, you should be able to put it back together with new adhesive and have it run like it was before. Plus eventually I'm sure there will be housing replacement parts available online as well with pre attached adhesives to be able to easily replace.

      You need to disassemble the back to be able to disconnect the screen cable from the main board and attach the new cable back on. Thanks, I usually do disassembly videos to show people how to take it apart when they need to do repairs etc. And since the cooling chamber is housed inside of the midframe behind the screen, I would need to break/destroy the midframe to get access to showing the cooling chamber and I wouldn't be able to show clearly how to put the phone back together for those who are just taking it apart to fix something in the phone. • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its possible its overheating, you would need to probably take it apart and make sure the thermal paste between the processor and copper has not dried up. If so replace it with new thermal paste. Also make sure there is no water damage, that can cause overheating as well or shorting.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The back plastic housing that is screwed down is part of the antenna assembly, those grey lines drawn on them are antenna lines (so if that back housing is not screwed down in place properly, it can cause signal issues). Also the blue coaxial wire cable connects to another antenna assembly which connects to the main board. The main board itself has contact points which also touch points on the frame of the phone which has antenna built into it.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rice doesn't really help. You always need to immediately power off the phone when it gets in contact with water (if not waterproof/resistant) and take it apart to dry out any liquid inside so it doesn't short out any parts as well as disconnecting the battery cable. Then use a tooth brush to brush off any corrosion on the chips or connectors and then re assemble to see if it will work. If not, then there is extensive damage to the board or parts and would either require a professional water repair service center or repair shop or a new device.

      They don't specify any ip rating on their site, however asus did reply on Amazon and said its water and dust proof. Them stating water proof and not resistant would mean it would last submerged in water, and also based off all the adhesive/sealing they did inside i would lean toward it being waterproof.

      isn't it supposed to under the battery, which he didn't get to yet?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I didn't show it in the video too well, but at 11:40 you can see a square piece of the vapor chamber where a processor sits against with thermal paste. The vapor chamber goes basically through/under the midframe of the phone. You can see the exact look of it on asus rog site which I will link bellow my comment. So not only does the ROG phone have a vapor chamber, it also has a copper heat spreader on top that sandwiches the main board basically (cooling the board from both sides) and also the carbon cooling pad. On top of that they include a attachment fan to attach to the back which cools off the surface of the back cover to add even more cooling. So I would say the ROG phone has more cooling than the razer overall.

    • @manarse_678
      @manarse_678 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I saw the official images of the vapor cooling chambers, but nothing real yet. And from your video, I still don't see them except for the exposed part of it, which doesn't paint the whole picture right. Whereas Jerry Rig Everything has shown the huge ass chamber on the razor phone 2 so yeah.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@manarse_678 ya, usually i dont rip apart the phones like he does because i mainly try to show steps on how people can take it apart and put it back together to be able to repair their phones. So ripping stuff apart would not help those who want to see how to reassemble the phones, however ya in this case when someone wants to see the vapor chamber as well, i should have pried off the midplate to show it.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@speednet1719 Well yes we each learn from one another, if you check on my moto z force teardown from back in the day, jerryrigeverything had commented thanking me for showing how one model is done so he could get an idea of how a similar model phone he was trying to take apart would possibly be done. Here is the link for it th-cam.com/video/-7Yi8xWwGm4/w-d-xo.html . At the end of the day each person has their own style and method. I may take a longer approach and let people who aren't as fast with these things keep up, and people like you who want a faster method can watch a faster video. You can't just say oh watch this guy and do it as fast as him because he has yet to do this model phone and I'm sure it would take him quite a bit longer than most phones (maybe not as long as me but still longer than most of his videos as well) since this one had more work to be done. Even if I cut out certain things like screwing in screws etc., would still make it quite long for this specific model phone. Regardless we both have good content to share, and hopefully we are helping people out there whether slow or fast. :)
