Here are the specs for a 720s, in parenthesis are the Camaro specs: 720 HP - 710 (1000), 720 torque - 568 (883), 720 0-60 2.8 (2.1), 720 1/4 mi - 9.98@141 (9.57@147), top speed 720 - 212 (217) . The camaro specs were from a manual tranny car, the 10 speed in mine would be quicker yet. The facts tend to disagree with your assessment don't you agree?

Too bad it can’t beat the Demon at the strip. It was already tested and from a dig the Demon is just too good. Maybe some suspension work and better tires and the Demon may lose on the top end
Lol it couldn't beat the demon though. Weighed less had more power and that 10 speed and still lost to the Demon. Also, this is an aftermarket modified car, not an OEM factory product.

@CliffCurry...I just got mine back and all I can say is WOW! The car was ferociously pulling at triple digits and didn’t even break a sweat. It had WAY more to go but I hit MY limit before the car ever did. Enjoy every minute of it...I know I am!

Exactly. The race needs to be started at the exact same rmp range. Given, the Exorcist may have 300 more HP. But they should at least make it as even a start as they can. With that being said, the idea of spending $130K on a modified muscle car, freightens me regardless. I'd rather buy a 570S with that money. I don't care about going fast, as much as I care about having a supercar experience. I can always modify a car to battle speed. But my first choice, in spending that kind of cash, will be to live out my childhood dreams.
I like the idea of starting the McLaren in 5th gear at a speed where it won't shift into first. Shows how honest your company is. But props to the camaro gearbox for shifting quickly to a high rpm
Agreed.... But won't happen... At least not on hennessey channel. They clearly chose this type of race because it's the one that clearly favors the exorcist. Mclaren would smoke it from a dig and definitely on track where weight, handling, brakes, and aero are important
Only thing I noticed is seems like the McLaren started at low revs compared to the Camaro for those rolling races when he should’ve just downshifted a couple times to be in that rev range for the race. Other than that great video
@@danieldeluna5302 Bruh lol he means literally in auto mode which is the slowest setting. He should have put it in track mode and used paddle shifters is his point. In auto the shifting is slower, have to wait for the down-kick, suspension is in comfort etc, etc...

I'm a chevy fan and drive a camaro myself, but let's be real here. The zl1 got the hit both times. They were probably dead even. Which means the exorcist would be even with a stock 720s. Still impressive, but the video is a bit deceptive IMO.

He said all in cost about half that McLaren? How much does that package cost? The camaro out of factory being around 70k, plus whatever the Hennessy exorcist package cost. I would of guessed around 100k out the door lol.

That's plenty, but I am curious to know if it's worth it since my car already has enough problems planting down that much power effectively. Better from a rolling start with the tires really warmed up. Other than that, I'm spinning a lot even with "just" 650!
@@damachine3 I certainly do. Long story short, I knew I wanted a ZL1 but I got used the upgrades I did on my other cars fairly quickly so I decided to go all out on this one. I bought the stock ZL1 and had Hennessey pick it up from the dealer without me even seeing it. 2 months later it’s sitting in my garage. From a dig, if you floor it, you’ll spin till around 90 but if you gradually lean on it, it really takes off. I guarantee that most people will reach their limit before this car will. Expensive but worth it. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this amount of power but I’ll have fun trying.

I called Hennessey a few months ago to explore this option and I think they said it was about $45K...does that sound right? That's a hell of a lot cheaper than a GT3 but I'll probably still want one no matter what I do to my ZL1 1LE...which is a manual. I think this upgrade might make more sense if mine had the A10 transmission.

The Exorcist is just raw, loud and obnoxious American muscle that sounds like an old school GTO. If you’re considering a new Turbo S then why not get the upgrade for your current ZL1 and buy another one with the A10 to see which one you like? HAHAHA! Go for the upgrade. If you like the ZL1 now , you’ll LOVE it with the extra ponies!
Nice but yeah like he said the turbos need rpm to spool vs instant tq of supercharger. So why did the McLaren start the first run at 1500rpm and the second 2500 and the Camaro starting at 3500rpm lol. The McLaren should be starting 4k to be better race.
Mclaren was at 147 mph vs 144 mph on the Camaro. Even though down in power and its a roll race, the aerodynamics on the Mclaren is an engineering masterpiece and allows wind drag to be minimum. If the race keeps going it will definitely leave the camaro behind.
All the downforce aero of the 1LE pack will slow the ZL down a lot above 100 mph. Run a regular ZL with 120 lbs less weight (sans 1LE), and it would keep pulling a bit.
please run that race back but have the 600LT start in 1st gear instead of 2nd gear, based on your video the 1LE launched at 3500rpm where the 600LT was at 1500rpm (of course you have to wait for the turbos to kick in) run it back same speed & same gear for the 1LE but drop down a gear for the 600LT.
That big wang was starting to hinder that 1000hp above 140mph On another note... For half the price of a 600lt that means it’s around 30-40k to transform your ZL1 to an exorcist 70k for the car 30ish for the upgrades 100+k total for an exorcist A little steep but not too shabby

To be fair you should do from a stop and also roll races but make sure you pick the optimal RPM and MPH range for each car and see what happens

The stock McLaren was catching up to the Exorcist every time, especially after 100mph it was reeling the Exorcist in.
The McLaren has a higher overall speed but acceleration not so much compared to the ILE
600lt had to downshift when the race started. It was in a higher gear than the Camaro and the 600lt had its rpms around 2k
