I wish you guys could see my reaction right now... you know just how long I've anticipated this one. And you bless me before Halloween? I always knew the love was real.. 👻❤️🦇🎃
I've seen this film many times but I only noticed when watching this review that Trish is holding a pair of glasses in the car at the begining so it would kinda make sense that the creeper would want Darrys eyes instead of hers. Also the shoot at the end where the creeper is sitting on a stool after killing Darry feels like a big nod to the Buffalo Bill scene in Silence of the lambs. I fully get why some people won't entertain this movie but I'm glad you guys did this review to recognise the cast & crew. Good stuff!!
One of the best underrated classics of all freaking time!!! I do enjoy this movie! Not to bring it up again, but if you can just ignore the director and what he did for a moment, Jeepers Creepers is a fun movie! Great review guys!
I just saw this movie a couple days ago on TH-cam it’s free to watch. The concept of this movie is scary and good. It is sad when Darry is killed. I have thought perhaps the creeper wanted Darry because he saw his house of pain. The end when you see Trish screaming her brother name was sad and haunting. You know something horrible is going to happen to Darry. Great review keep it up.
The trope of doing something stupid is what made the original Halloween and Halloween too so terrifying These people were just going about their lives, being stalked by Michael Myers They weren’t going to a campground where 30 people had been murdered Or looking down pipes to see if they could rescue dead bodies They were just doing their jobs or watching TV Truly terrifying
Just saw this movie yesterday and it was still fairly bright, my gf got stressed out watching, knowing what was going to happen and my heart pounding fast throughout the movie, always a classic to rewatch, after all this was the first movie to scare the pants out of me as a kid
This movie and Oculus are the two best horror sibling relationships. Perfectly captured and makes you care about the characters; no romantic relationship required. Brilliant!
I have grown to appreciate this movie over the years. I will find myself going back to it every couple of years especially around the spooky season. It's got some pretty good atmosphere, a wholly original and unique villain, and you really feel for the protagonists. As far as the whole director situation I look at it this way... Yes, his name is attached to this and there's always going to be that stigma, but hundreds of other talented people worked to also make this film happen. Filmmaking is a collaborative process, and though one person's name stands out above all, that person never would have seen their vision come too without the health of the rest of the crew. So to just write a film off because of one person, even though the reasons are perfectly justified, I think it's a detriment to the rest of the talent.
Off the Shelf time! I adore you all and this channel! Have a fab time watching the guys review the Creeper for us! See you Thursday! Time for me to get me some cheese on toast and watch me some OTSR. Have a good one, Shelfers! 👊
If I remember it right, the movie begins with the sister complaining to the brother that he keeps wearing her shirts, which is what the creeper initially smells. That sets the idea of why he can't quite chose if it is after the brother or the sister up to the end, because he can't diferentiate them by the smell.
When I first saw the movie , it blew me away. Loved the pacing, the story, the acting , horror, all of it.I think a lot of it is due to the fact that I never sawa trailer or anything, had no idea what this is just watched it because a friend of mine recommended it to me.
Very solid horror, great chemistry between the actors & classic creature design. Agreed, it had potential for a long, successful franchise & yes the director should still be in a cage.
Legit one of my fav horror films and the creeper in this one is just an amazing monster villain. You dont know what he is all you know is hes super strong, impossible to kill, and he wont stop chasing you
That shot with Justin Long falling into the cave reminds me a lot of Lee Remick's fall in 'The Omen', it's almost shot for shot .... a noice little homage. I really liked the first half of this film, it genuinely scared the shit out of me, the tension was molasses-thick but that all absolutely disappeared as soon as the Creeper was revealed. I was all "Ah ........ OK, it's a creature then.". That really killed it for me. Although the scarecrow scene at the cat lady's house was the only redemption after that: "Is it .. him? WIll he move? Nah ... it just looks liHOOOOLEYFUCK".
As i sit here in my shop. On the side of my mountain. In the Pacific Northwest, I see my brothers from across the pond decided to drop this awesome video about a stand-alone classic!!! This was the only one ever made!!! Great choice guys!
First time i watched this movie, i don't know how, but the chase sequence with the car and the truck was genuinely scary. Yeah its just a high speed chase but the cinema photography sells it.
Thanks for the long legs recommendation on the latest podcast gary. I enjoyed it. The story was unique enough and kept me invested all the way through.
Gary, I'm shocked you didn't do the knowledge drop about the scene with the Creeper dropping the bodies being based off a real murder. Dennis DePue the creeper dumped the body of his wife at an abandoned school and people saw him from the road.
Always thought the film was… okay. Nothing special, just okay. Starts off really promising but after the first fifteen minutes it just kinda goes nowhere. They should have left the Creeper in the dark, only showing it in the dark. Still to this day the creatures true face should be a mystery. I think the movie would have been better set during the dark ages rather than a modern setting.
Yep. Great first 20 mins, then the man in the rubber suit turns up And it drops off a cliff. And Victor Salva is way worse than the creeper. How he only did 15 months after what he did to that 12 year old boy is the real horror.
Agree. People hype up this movie like it’s the scariest movie of all time, but I watched this home alone in the dark when I was 14 and it didn’t freak me out in the slightest.
This is a classic from.y childhood. I always thought that scene with the crepper turning towards them real dramatic after he dumps the body funny for some reason 😂 great review
I just feel like this movie would be so much better if the monster either a) wasn’t revealed (so we think it’s a regular serial killer) or b) was revealed but wasn’t some superhuman alien demon thing - if this was just a tiny bit more grounded it would have been so amazing
I understand people not wanting to watch this movie because of the director, but it's important to separate art from the artists. Plenty of amazing art has been created by VERY controversial people. It's also important to acknowledge that hundreds of people worked on the Jeepers Creepers movies besides Salva.
This was such a refreshing monster... I remember watching it for the 1st time and being nicely surprised. Totally agree with the psychic lady... she should have been a recurrent character that eventually gets killed by the Creeper a couple of movies into the franchise.
Thank you guys! 👍 This film is actualy quite good! Jeeper's Creeper's 2 is , against all odds , a pretty good movie, not quite good as the first one! Keep up the good work Gary & Iain! 👍
Keep in mind that Salva was a convicted predator at the time this movie was released, and one of his victims publicly opposed Hollywood giving Salva a career. His crimes were horrendous and he will rot in hell. He videotaped the abuse which the court records reveal. F this guy and this movie.
This movie had good ideas, there are cool things going on, and they did a good job with the monster, even with its flaws is a movie worth to enjoy in halloween

You know the problem I think with this line of thinking is that if you apply it to one thing, you have to apply it to all. What did you use to type your comment on? A smart phone? There’s a massively high chance that your smart phone was built in a sweat shop in China. Where the working conditions are so poor that they’ve installed suicide prevention nets to stop workers from committing suicide. But you still separate your phone from the phone manufacturer, right? How about where you shop? Do you use Amazon? Do you know how they exploit their workers too? What if you found out your house was built by a paedophile? Or a rapist? Would you move out? What you have to remember is that films like this are a massive collaboration. It’s not just the director who made the film, but a huge crew of talented people who aren’t child molesters. I’m not saying you should excuse the director for his actions, not at all, I’m simply saying that if you’re unable to separate the creation from the creator, you’re going to have to boycott pretty much everything in life, because people are generally unpleasant and some of the greatest artists/visionaries are also the worst human beings. It would be ideal if people weren’t such c*nts, but it just isn’t reality sadly.

Love this movie, EXCEPT for the exposition dump lady after the halfway mark. It would be a better film if you remove her completely. Oh and the scene at the end when Darry's eyes have been taken is too dumb for words. Why can we see right through the back of his head?
In the first 3 movies, does the Creeper ever eat any females for parts? I feel like even if it kills females, i don’t ever remember it eating any female parts in the movies. I always viewed the Creeper as Victor Salva himself preying on fit young men. Almost as if the first two movies in particular are confessing how monstrous the things Victor Salva has done and how it preys on young men🤔
