This is surreal! I work on this game! 11 years ago I watched Dan play Train Sim 2013 and laughed so much and now I'm here watching him play out one I was actually part of creating. I'm a software engineer who does programming work on Train Sim World 4, glad to see it still meets all the same expectations Dan has from Train Sim
I often transfer trains at Doncaster station, and the shot of the game at 2:33 is damn near picture perfect! I didn't realise how much effect went into making the stations look correct before I saw that, but it's spot on. Even down to the paint work on the bricks and the coffee shop (Which I think is a Costa for something).
I'm an audio designer on this game! Great to see you return to Train Sim World, remember watching the TSW2 vid back when I was in Uni... Glad you're still up to your usual antics!
I am in fact in my profession from your videos... Twice actually! I was a mechanic which is something I started considering after your mechanic simulator video and now I'm a lorry driver because of your euro truck videos. Thank you Dan for making my life what it is today! You mean the world to us
When you said “what’s Doncaster known for” I confidently answered out loud “Louis Tomlinson” before realising that the crossover of your fans and one direction fans is probably just me😂
As somebody who works as a maintenance technician on the LNER trains featured in this video, it's eerie how accurate the models are. Down to even the labels on circuit breakers, It's like i'm back at work.
In case you drive trains again Dan, a single yellow signal means the following signal is red, so you should be prepared to stop by the next signal (trains are fast, so you gotta start braking way before you can actually see the red signal), and a double yellow means that there is a red signal in 2 signals time (or that the next signal is a single yellow), so again, start thinking about stopping, or at least, go easy on the speed. The white lights are for shunting I believe. Don't really know on them.
white lights show a diverging track, so if they point right, like the video, the points are set to the right to show you need to follow the diverging speed limit not the normal speed limit
I remember cringing at your Omsi video when I was a bus driver and now I’m watching your train sim videos through my fingers as a train driver. Keep it up 👍
As someone who really likes trains (to the point of developing my own DLC maps for N3V's Trainz), I can't wait to see this latest instalment of a fantastic series!
The statement at the end of the video is so unbelievably true. I remember watching your video on the underground simulator nearly 10 years ago, and now I work on the tube. Admittedly that video wasn’t the reason I chose this job, but it’s still a cool thought. Thank you for the unrivalled levels of entertainment over the years, Dan.
I've lived in Doncaster for 3 years now...and yeah that sure was Doncaster Station. Even the lack of trains that aren't to London or Cleethorpes! (Also the church just down the track was correctly placed somehow, despite the Shopping Center and Interchange isn't there)
16:05 The five white lines indicate the direction your train will travel. In that case, your train has a clear path over a set of points that go right. Yes, you can proceed but at a reduced speed because of the train that just overtook you. You're going on the line right behind it.
I'm in my profession now because of your videos! I moved to Japan to teach English because every time I watched your train simulator videos I remembered just how hellish and expensive it is trying to use trains in the UK and that it's legitimately easier to learn Japanese and move halfway around the world to the place where trains work well, and lo and behold I was right! Okay, this is only mostly true, but I have been watching your videos since I was younger than some of the students I now teach are, which is bonkers to think about. That was almost half my life ago and I'm still here. It's crazy to think about the many different phases of my life that I've been through, and all the while amidst that one consistent thing has been watching your content. Thank Dan
As someone from Doncaster, and lives in Doncaster, I have the same reaction at 11:46 about once a week. I do have to say, though. The Station is spot on. Down to where the Costas and Subway is. The sightlines are right too with the Frenchgate Centre looming behind Platform 0, St. James' church at the other end, and the rail offices across from Platform 8. It's almost uncanny to see somewhere I know so well in a game.
The single yellow signal means the next signal is red and the 5 white lights are called a route indicator which meant you were cleared to go onto the fast line and the two yellow lights means the next signal is single has one yellow light
Recently found your channel again after nearly a decade, and let me just say, I’m so fucking glad I did. You are even MORE entertaining than I remembered. You’ll always have a true fan in me.
Two of my favourite NerdCubed videos are the London Underground Sim/TSW2 video and the Endless Express video. A Nerdcubed vid on another game in the TSW series where he also waits for a train? This is gonna be good. 14:26 - 15:13 is my favourite moment.
I am from Doncaster and work in conservation on the river Don and that station is so accurate it’s crazy. As someone who is trapped in Doncaster I feel your pain!
On the note of someone becoming a surgeon from his videos. I actually got really into F1 from his f1 gameplay video like 5 years ago then got really into motor sports and now I’m as a hobbyist doing CFD automotive sims with the goal of designing aero kits for cars.
Im truly getting the real 2010s nerdcubed experience; watching a train sim video at 6am Also dan and waiting for modes of transport in real time, what a beautiful combination that has never been bad ever
As somebody from Doncaster, not only are Dan's jokes offiically Doncaster approved from me, but also it should be worth noting that while the train station is incredibly accurate to the real one, but also looks much much better!
Haven’t watched a video since the roller coaster tycoon and original flight simulator and you happen to be in my home town and walk past my place of work 😂 Love the content Dan keep up the good work!
Got to give the game credit, it's very realistic. I had a mental breakdown right at that Sand Wedge in Doncaster only a couple of years ago. 11/10, would recommend

I travel semi regularly between Peterborough-doncaster and joked last week about being stuck in Donnie........ Guess who is currently rewatching this stuck on a train BC of major signalling delays
The only relationship Dan has better than Rebecca is his love of trains and pensive man
PENSIVE MAN
Pensive Man wont be in this though sadly. This isnt the same game hes plyaed before.
@NathanielKempson sadly Pensive man didn't make it into train sim world
And the reliable reindeer
I'm sad there's no pensive man in train sim world
This is surreal! I work on this game!

same deal here! im on setup, crazy to remember dan playing TSW2 and now i work on it!
Yo you two deserve so much better than Dan of all people driving the trains lmao
Kidding, it's the best thing and yall should be proud
So it's your fault they don't know how to use escalators. ;)
So sorry for your management lol :(
Damn must suck to be an employee at Dovetail Games, what a shitty company
Going from "Ahhh..." to "OH NO I'VE FALLEN OUT OF MY TRAIN!!!" nearly killed me from laughing so hard!🤣
ag
*Lady:* Sits in the driver's seat staring awkwardly at Dan.
*Dan:* "I thought I was the driver today..."
*Lady:* Disappears
*Dan:* "Oh...okay..."

It’s incredibly well done! The sandwich shop around the corner is a Subway irl too haha
I love that Dan has been trying to drive trains for like 12 years and still has no idea how they work
I'm an audio designer on this game! Great to see you return to Train Sim World, remember watching the TSW2 vid back when I was in Uni... Glad you're still up to your usual antics!
Dan is trapped in a hellish groundhog day scenario where it resets every time he tries to leave doncaster
I'd watch a feature length film of that in a heartbeat
*high pitch* "WHO THE FUCK IS YUNGBLUD" is moment of the year
I am in fact in my profession from your videos... Twice actually! I was a mechanic which is something I started considering after your mechanic simulator video and now I'm a lorry driver because of your euro truck videos. Thank you Dan for making my life what it is today! You mean the world to us
Looks like its trains now
as long as you're not a pilot
10:27 dan has come full circle at last
When you said “what’s Doncaster known for” I confidently answered out loud “Louis Tomlinson” before realising that the crossover of your fans and one direction fans is probably just me😂
I felt that saying yungblud, and then rebbecca herself echoed me so you never know lol
@@zoeyxaviera2186I’ve been watching Dan for over 10 years and also listen to both Yungblud and 1D so where does that leave me…
@@wiredmind The one pixel in the middle of the venn diagram where the three circles somehow overlap is you

I applaud Dan standing up for standards on the London Underground escalators
As somebody who works as a maintenance technician on the LNER trains featured in this video, it's eerie how accurate the models are. Down to even the labels on circuit breakers, It's like i'm back at work.
I like to imagine this is how dan actually behaves on public transport
You don't?
I'm so sorry Dan, no-one should ever have to be in Doncaster, even in a virtual world
As someone from doncaster, I approve this message
In case you drive trains again Dan, a single yellow signal means the following signal is red, so you should be prepared to stop by the next signal (trains are fast, so you gotta start braking way before you can actually see the red signal), and a double yellow means that there is a red signal in 2 signals time (or that the next signal is a single yellow), so again, start thinking about stopping, or at least, go easy on the speed. @@anonymousperson1726 Ah, gotcha! Thanks.
I shouldn’t be surprised really but the model of Doncaster station is so accurate
this man made my childhood just crazy to still hear "hello procrastinators" brings me back
I remember cringing at your Omsi video when I was a bus driver and now I’m watching your train sim videos through my fingers as a train driver. Keep it up 👍
the amount of time he took to press tab is painful.

Dan + Trains = Superb entertainment
**plants bushes** road too sleep
I've lived in Doncaster all my life and I have to say that station is spot on 😂
I'm also in my profession because of you Dan! I'm unemployed.
I've lived in Doncaster for 3 years now...and yeah that sure was Doncaster Station. Even the lack of trains that aren't to London or Cleethorpes! (Also the church just down the track was correctly placed somehow, despite the Shopping Center and Interchange isn't there)

Dan always seems confused 🤔😅

That Doncaster is actually amazing, even down to the subway shop on Platform 1. Shame about the whole train sim world series but it looks amazing
Groundhog Train: Stuck in Doncaster with Yungblud

Easily one of the funniest and most entertaining NerdCubed videos I've every watched. So many well-timed and feel good moments as well!
Jeremy Clarkson was born in Doncaster
im so happy you're doing let's plays again. you've always been my favourite youtuber, i missed the comfort these videos give me
I think we should all know to not get on any vehicle operated by Dan unless you like going in circles
Unless it’s the circle line of course. We all remember how well that video went.
There’s a new Nerdcubed train sim video. The year is complete, can’t possibly get any better.
Recently found your channel again after nearly a decade, and let me just say, I’m so fucking glad I did. You are even MORE entertaining than I remembered. You’ll always have a true fan in me.
4:00 Ooh, the accurately modelled the building opposite Doncaster station. Fair play.

i remember the omsi 2 days, “hello procrastinators” is so nostalgic to me
You either die a Pensive Man, or live long enougth to become a Headphone Woman
"Premiere Today"
What do you mean 'today'? It's the middle of the ni-.... right, almost 2am, i should go to bed.
The joy of timezones!
You know a video will be good when it says "Attempt 1"
I am from Doncaster and work in conservation on the river Don and that station is so accurate it’s crazy. As someone who is trapped in Doncaster I feel your pain!
Wow I’m on the train from Peterborough to Doncaster right now
every so often i come back to dan and honestly he never fails to get a laugh out of me thanks for being my comfort youtuber
Oh yeah, now this is epic. I'll never forget the 2024 Nerd³ comeback 💪

Dan - Jeremy Clarkson is from Doncaster, so there is definitely someone of note you'll know from there!
As someone from Newark, I can agree about Northgate
As someone who focuses on realism in this game, it was great seeing you try to turn of sig 8:45
The nostalgic feeling I get from this video is uncanny. I've been transported back to a simpler time.
I remember watching you play games back in the day like GTA 4 mods and things like that. I’m glad to still be a fan all these years later
now this is the same as the content i used to watch a decade ago. I love it.
I don't know what that's about but this funny 😂😂😂😂😂 2:03
09:34 a required pun in a train simulator game.
14:05 hilariously that is EXACTLY what I thought when I heard the sound you were making.
I remember watching all of your Tain videos when I was younger. I laughed my head off 😂. It’s awesome to see you are doing train videos again
As somebody from Doncaster, not only are Dan's jokes offiically Doncaster approved from me, but also it should be worth noting that while the train station is incredibly accurate to the real one, but also looks much much better!
This was probably the most relatable video i've ever seen from dan as this happens evertime i get an LNER train
I'm back after at least 7 years away, and I'm glad his "Hello Procrastinators" is back as well.
man i watched your roller tycoon stuff years ago and your still just as good as i remember
The amount of people who got into their careers because of a British man who professionally says the f-word at video games is, frankly, terrifying.
Finally, the most anticipated series on youtube.
that is scarily accurate to doncaster, i live neer there and regulraly change trains at doncaster.
Miss these lets plays! Grew up watching you and have much nostalgia watching your channel.
As someone who is currently training to be a train dispatcher, this is *extremely painful* and yet *hilarious* to watch.
you know it’s gonna be a good nerd3 video when there are attempts
This video is my training (pun intended) for tomorrow where i actually take a train from Doncaster to York
Holy crap this bring so much nostalgia back. Nerd cubed & trains have played a pretty large part in who I am lol
There’s no pairing more iconic than Dan and trains
"Probably stopping at Newark North Gate" the ptsd flashbacks hit hard...
Haven’t watched a video since the roller coaster tycoon and original flight simulator and you happen to be in my home town and walk past my place of work 😂
Love the content Dan keep up the good work!
Been subbed since the Minecraft days in 2012. Never change Dan. Never change.
Got to give the game credit, it's very realistic. I had a mental breakdown right at that Sand Wedge in Doncaster only a couple of years ago. 11/10, would recommend
@4:00 you just walked into my old office lmao
incredibly boring i know, but the detail of the yard behind is oddly accurate
“Why does this train simulator not have a jump button?!”
I didn’t know Mike Bithell made this game.
There's something magical about Dan and simulator games.
the train driver popping out of existence made me laugh out loud
Trains, attempts, outrage - it's an instant classic!!
It’s crazy how much these look like actual LNER trains
Dan + train simulators really being me back
As a man from Doncaster, the station was very well recreated🤣
I almost choked on my dinner when he fell out of the Azuma I was laughing that hard, amazing video Dan, keep up the brilliant work :)
Arguably the best starter yet. PACKED with gusto and gravely goodness
I can't believe it's been a decade since the original pensive man

I love how this answered my question very well on why there are attempts in this video.
Something about "He's a bear!~" just tickled me.
I like how dan is getting more unhinged the older he gets
