tbzalison Hyram has several videos directly addressing your skin type and what a basic skincare routine is. Generally he preaches that a basic full routine is a cleanser, treatment, moisturizer, and sunscreen. It’s really not necessary to wash your face in the morning (you weren’t walking around accumulating particulates on your face). Your night routine is always going to be more in depth because that’s when your skin repairs itself. Your morning routine will be some sort of simple level of treatment, possibly a moisturizer, and a sunscreen. Don’t use sunscreen before bed, obviously, unless your a bat. Check 'Cult Beauty' - I can't find half the products in the stores here (and Amazon is iffy about delivery) but was able to get pretty much all 'The Ordinary' products online. Few days and they were here.

I second St. Ive's being trash. I had bought the apricot scrub from ross as I ran out of my derma-e scrub and had store credit there. Hate it. Ordered my go-to ans now only use it as a hand scrub now which it does work well for that lol.
I started getting acne for the first time when I hit my 20’s and I absolutely hated it. I refused to go out in public without foundation. I had no control over my skin and felt there was nothing I could do. I got the ordinary niacinamide serum, the BHA exfoliant, and the cerave moisturizer all per your recommendation. I currently have 1 pimple and about half my acne scars are gone. I haven’t worn foundation in a week. 😊

I scrolled down to the comments to see if anyone was talking about this moisturizer! I tried it and didn't like it. When it dried down it made my skin feel really dry and sticky. Was slightly better if I applied it to my wet skin rather than dry but still didn't like it
I’ve been using it for about a month now and it’s alright, nothing bad to say about it but I can’t say I’ve found my holy grail either. I really like using it at night combined with a few drops of their squalane oil. It’s a bit heavier than what I would like during the day (I have combo normal-oily skin btw), but I use it anyway cause that’s the only moisturizer I have at the moment. It makes my T-zone a little oilier than it would usually be, but nothing major. To be honest, I’ve never been impressed by a moisturizer before since I don’t have huge expectations from it. All I’m looking for is good ingredients and to moisturizer my skin (which isn’t hard considering I don’t have dry skin). I’d say you should try it, especially considering the price.
I have sensitive skin that can break out and have to say NMF has been fine for me. It's moisturising without being too heavy and I've used it as a buffer when dipping my toe for the first time into using Vit C serum. The tube of cream is pretty small though and doesn't last a long time however I guess bc the price is good it evens this out. It's a nice inoffensive cream that has done the job for me.
Hyram the lactic acid serum is literally sitting on the shelf behind you lmao Edit: it's the niacinamide serum, the lighting threw me off and i can't read apparently lol

The order would be this: If double cleanse 1. Cleansing Balm/Oil or Micellar Water 2. Cleanser 3. Treatments/Exfoliants 4. Moisturizer 5. Sunscreen! [MOST IMPORTANT]
@Eimear Mc Carthy no don't do this at all. The think dirty app is fear mongering without much evidence. The simple micellar wash is fragrance free and also doesn't have many other irritating ingredients. Also a face wash is really not going to cause your acne or solve it as it's on your face for under a minute. Please don't spread misinformation. They'll say titanium dioxide is cancerous because in a study they left rats in a room completely smothered with it for days. Obviously, then it's going to be cancerous. So is bacon if you eat enough.

@@lelamaria5370 it's called 'natural moisturising factors + HA moisturiser' - personally my least favourite thing from the ordinary :( okay hydration but feels way too thick and sticky, it takes forever to soak into my skin. i would definitely recommend the cerave moisturising lotion instead :)

I think he said doing exfoliation helps with blackheads. Get a stronger exfoliation acid and maybe the more effective it is? Im not sure, he has a youtube video about exfoliation.
For blackheads, BHA (salicylic acid) is your best bet. It's an oil soluble chemical exfoliant which means it can dissolve into the oil in your pores and push out all the dirt and sebum causing the blackhead. Try using CeraVe SA renewing cleanser (morning and night) and Paula's choice 2% BHA solution (at night). Make sure you use a hydrating but non heavy moisturiser like the CeraVe moisturising lotion as daily use of salicylic acid can dry out your skin, leading it to overproduce more oil and lead to more blackheads. I have combination oily skin prone to acne and blackheads and just switching out my toner and moisturiser for the Paula's choice 2% BHA solution and CeraVe moisturiser (on Hyram's recommendations) has noticeably shrunk my blackheads in 2 weeks. Best of luck!

Hey Hyram! When The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors arrives, mind giving us an update on how you like it? I've heard mixed reviews about this product and wondering what you think!!
I scrolled down to the comments to see if anyone was talking about this moisturizer! I tried it and didn't like it. When it dried down it made my skin feel really dry and sticky. Was slightly better if I applied it to my wet skin rather than dry but still didn't like it
I’ve been using it for about a month now and it’s alright, nothing bad to say about it but I can’t say I’ve found my holy grail either. I really like using it at night combined with a few drops of their squalane oil. It’s a bit heavier than what I would like during the day (I have combo normal-oily skin btw), but I use it anyway cause that’s the only moisturizer I have at the moment. It makes my T-zone a little oilier than it would usually be, but nothing major.
To be honest, I’ve never been impressed by a moisturizer before since I don’t have huge expectations from it. All I’m looking for is good ingredients and to moisturizer my skin (which isn’t hard considering I don’t have dry skin). I’d say you should try it, especially considering the price.
It's unremarkable but fine.
I have sensitive skin that can break out and have to say NMF has been fine for me. It's moisturising without being too heavy and I've used it as a buffer when dipping my toe for the first time into using Vit C serum. The tube of cream is pretty small though and doesn't last a long time however I guess bc the price is good it evens this out. It's a nice inoffensive cream that has done the job for me.
I think it’s ok but I seem to always break out when I use it... so I go back to my simple moisturiser again!

@Eimear Mc Carthy no don't do this at all. The think dirty app is fear mongering without much evidence. The simple micellar wash is fragrance free and also doesn't have many other irritating ingredients. Also a face wash is really not going to cause your acne or solve it as it's on your face for under a minute. Please don't spread misinformation. They'll say titanium dioxide is cancerous because in a study they left rats in a room completely smothered with it for days. Obviously, then it's going to be cancerous. So is bacon if you eat enough.

@@lelamaria5370 it's called 'natural moisturising factors + HA moisturiser' - personally my least favourite thing from the ordinary :( okay hydration but feels way too thick and sticky, it takes forever to soak into my skin. i would definitely recommend the cerave moisturising lotion instead :)

I think he said doing exfoliation helps with blackheads. Get a stronger exfoliation acid and maybe the more effective it is? Im not sure, he has a youtube video about exfoliation.
Niacinamide!!
For blackheads, BHA (salicylic acid) is your best bet. It's an oil soluble chemical exfoliant which means it can dissolve into the oil in your pores and push out all the dirt and sebum causing the blackhead. Try using CeraVe SA renewing cleanser (morning and night) and Paula's choice 2% BHA solution (at night). Make sure you use a hydrating but non heavy moisturiser like the CeraVe moisturising lotion as daily use of salicylic acid can dry out your skin, leading it to overproduce more oil and lead to more blackheads. I have combination oily skin prone to acne and blackheads and just switching out my toner and moisturiser for the Paula's choice 2% BHA solution and CeraVe moisturiser (on Hyram's recommendations) has noticeably shrunk my blackheads in 2 weeks. Best of luck!
