This is my evaluation of the Mauser M-18. I purchased mine from Euro Optics in 6.5 prc it was on sale for 399 this was a no brainer. Mauser advertises the manufacture process of their barrels as the best in the world (cold forged) I thought yeah yeah right especially at this price. Frist of all I shoot many different guns and this trigger is world class and unbelievable.I did install tally mounts on the barrel and put on a very cheap bushnell scope on what I thought was only a cheap budget gun.I took the gun to the range with factory Hornady Precision Hunter 143 gr bullets. This was a very cold and very windy day.The gun was boresighted and I took three shots at 100 yards. With no spotting scope I walked to the target and could not believe my eyes.Three holes touching sub half inch MOA. There are alot of reviews on how great this trigger really is,that I can say is no joke. If you are on a budget this gun is absolutely the best. This gun does not deserve to be mocked. This is really a decent gun.
I had purchased a 30-06 from Euro Optics also about same price and man was I surprised as yourself. No need for mocking this one. Unreal out of box. I paired it with a Sig Sauer Whiskey 3, 3x9x50. It is a go to rifle and shoots better than some high enders I have. Everything i fed it, it ate well spot on. Not sure if it is the stock design or recoil pad, or both but has very little recoil to me compared to other 06's i have had that were heavier. Only complaint was cleaning it out of the box the barrel was filthy it took a couple of hours to get it right. Out of low end rifles I have had in past this is definitely the tops of the bunch.

From France : I like this rifle ( .308 w). I confirm it's a sub MOA rifle, provided that you find the suitable ammo's. This barrel likes particularly the 168 gr bullets. Get regularly half MOA with match ammo' s GGG Nosler 168 gr or handloads (with HPBT Hornady 168 gr) and cheap Athlon Talos scope at 200 m. Thank you for your nice videos.

I've sold several CVA cascades in 350 Legend, 6.5 Creedmoor, and 308 at work. An I've only ever heard good things afterwards. For the money it's hard to beat. It's basically the only gun in that price bracket that I ever picked up and went... ewwww that's nice.
🇦🇺😎👍Hey mate I own a 308 M18 and I realised it has a common design fault with the magazine catch. Never put your finger up the mag well and flex the mag catch as the catch has an unsecured spring which falls out if you flex it. Trust me you’ll never find it , , EVER !…. Mine is reasonably accurate but I never brought it to win at the Olympics
I had it in my hands in Europe and the action did not look worn out. It was also very smooth for a sub 800€ gun. What I do not like is the cheap plastic stock.
I am 79 years old and can't tell you how many rifles I have had over the years, but LOTS! The Mauser M-18 is one of the best shooting ever, and at it's price THE best. The last time I was at the range, I shot a 13 shot one inch group. (6.5 PRC handloads- 127 gr.Barnes LRX, 55.5 gr. IMR 7977, 2970 f/s). This gun has NO bells or whistles, but EVERYTHING that a rifle needs to shoot great ... and it does! Yeah, the removable butt pad is hard and stupid and you can't chuck a round into it very easily, but it has a great adjustable trigger, set mine at 2.5 lbs., and a free floated cold hammer forged barrel, the stock is rigid, and the action is tightly seated, and it shoots great. What else is there! This video is not a good or thorough review of this rifle. More of a bore-sighting and shooting fun demonstration. The Mauser M-18 deserves more.
I live in the UK and I got one of these in 223 for foxes. Accuracy is good; sub MOA with Hornady Superformance 55gn GMX and consistent. The bolt is, as you say, not the best but the plastic 4 round mag that comes only with the 223 is a real pain to load, especially with cold fingers but it feeds ok. I adjusted the trigger pressure down as soon a s I got it and its been fine. Overall its a good robust work horse gun for the price, £550 UK.

Great job mate! Would love to see your thoughts on the Sauer 100 Ceratech. Cerakote, 5 shot MOA guarantee probably thanks to factory bedding, pretty close to the Mauser but arguably a better option and nicer finish. Keep them coming.
I bought one in 7mm REM Mag instead of an M18 and I wished I'd saved my money. Bolt is very tight and difficult to get into battery at times. It's been back for warranty once to repair that issue but it's still not perfect. I also haven't found any ammo yet that gives me the 5 shot moa group yet but I haven't been through a lot of variations of ammo to test it properly yet. A close friend has one in 223 and it's incredibly accurate not matter what you feed it, however it's also difficult to get into battery most of the time. Just my experience.
I picked up this rifle in the shop today with a wicked camouflage job in 6.5 and it was 400 bucks. Simple and clean no warning labels etc. loved it and bolt was smooth. 1 problem … it was 6.5. Yuck. 😢. Said I would never buy that caliber. 😂. I liked it so much thinking about going back to pick it up.
Hey when expansive brand go cheap , THEY REALLY cut corners😂 Is it a myth the : shoot a few shot let it completely cool , then shoot another group . Or how about the shoot some group , clean it then shoot another group , clean and shoot another
good review and a crafty salesman for splitting up the videos to get more views and likes. I am excited that we have people like you who can present a product for what it is in an efficient way. The gun can shoot (that's what you pay for). The gun may lack in features but that is preference in a world where hunting guns do not have a high standard to live up to.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but if your using the center cross hairs on a SFP optic the magnification should not matter, that’s only plays a role if you are using the stadia lines like a BDC or for holds? Great review tho!!
I have a small cigarette lighter, kindling, bore snake and a pack of instant coffee in the butt stock. Mine is a 270 and it shoots sub moa. I'm very happy with it.
Be interested to see this as well. I always thought m18 and sauer 100 were same but that action and bolt are totally different to what my Sauer has. Be interesting to see what parts are the same and what aren't
@@Triggy96 Mauser m18 is very accurate and bolt is smooth just has to be done with force at the end which can be undesirable at times. M12 is just heaven. Great accuracy and bolt is heaven as well. Prices I think are kind of inflated now. Got my m18 2020 for around $400.
What caliber was it? I guess I missed that. He commented on someone else’s thread. .270. 500 yards is good with that round. I shoot a .270. It is an awesome caliber.
Man looking at that I'd think a CVA cascade would be a better buy. I love the idea of a Mauser but this just seems to cheap. Annnnnd you even said what I was thinking the whole time. If I wanted that performance I'd get a CVA cascade. Of I wanted better performance the B-14 would be, and has been, my choice.
Did you mention, that the trigger and the trigger housing are made from plastic? Can you confirm this? Can't believe that it is only a few hundred bugs in the US since it costs more than 1000,-€ in Germany. Cheers
I have had the m18 in 6.5 cm for 3 years now and I have to say it is one of my favorite guns in the safe, even over guns I paid 4x as much for. At first I thought it looked and felt cheap, but shot after shot, and time and time again in the field, I can’t help but to love it more and more. The grip, the balance, the smoothness of the bolt, the trigger, the pointability… it’s an amazing gun. The bolt is so so smooth, and it gets better every time. Albeit a 6.5 cm, the recoil is comparable to a .243 at best. As for accuracy, this gun drops everything it shoots at (4 deer and 2 elk so far). I’m shooting Federal Premium Accubond FACTORY LOADS and it shoots 1/4 MOA all day, consistently. Break it in and shoot it for awhile, it might be your cheapest and most favorite gun.
Great video, and the 5 shots in 500 yards was an interesting spin. I’d tend to disagree that a 3lb 7oz trigger is “heavy”. This is a hunting rifle and I wouldn’t care for much less, if the trigger quality is good as you said. Maybe 3 at the lightest. A third of the weight of the gun is a good goal for trigger weight. What does it weigh?

I'll stick with my Weatherby Vanguard Meateater. Interested in the CVA though.
Finally. I’ve been waiting for this review
Great video. The humor was on point.
Bro your shooting position is crazy, kickin feet like a kid
I own a M18 in 243 - handloads groups consistently less than 0.5" - for sure a sub 0.5MOA rifle
Hey when expansive brand go cheap , THEY REALLY cut corners😂
Is it a myth the : shoot a few shot let it completely cool , then shoot another group .
Or how about the shoot some group , clean it then shoot another group , clean and shoot another
Will be interested in final results , good job as always thank you
Savage impulse would be an interesting one to get your take on
Can't wait to see the franchi
good review and a crafty salesman for splitting up the videos to get more views and likes.
Love my m18… bedded my rifle, shooting .5-.75 with handloads,
you did well! Nice shooting
Bro, great video thank you. I dig how the gun can hold snacks.
A man on a budget will get out hunting with this and bring home the ham, what more do you need than a 1 moa gun
I was considering a Mauser M18. I just hate plastic trigger guards. I went with a Franchi Momentum. Great review!!
Plastic! OMG
@@akent46 polymer. a little bit different IE more density.
Great show 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have the Cascade as my first gun ever. I love it.
I have a small cigarette lighter, kindling, bore snake and a pack of instant coffee in the butt stock. Mine is a 270 and it shoots sub moa. I'm very happy with it.
Great reviews! I'm waiting to see one about Franchi Horizon/Momentum. Regards from Argentina 🇦🇷🇦🇷
My dad bought me one when they came out we made a custom load that shoots one hole groups at 100 yards
Great video as usual. I'd be interested to see your thoughts on the Sauer 100 (the M18's stablemate) and the Mauser M12.
They are the same / they are made under the same Roof / all at Isny Allgäu Blaser Company....
You can not compare the M18 and M12....M12 money, you buy 3,5 guns M18. M12 is a very hight level.
What caliber was it? I guess I missed that. He commented on someone else’s thread. .270. 500 yards is good with that round. I shoot a .270. It is an awesome caliber.
That's a fantastic rifle for its price point and you really didn't give it a fair review
Thanks for sharing.
I've owned one for a couple of years now. Way under valued. Accurate AF!
Bravo thank you for the review!!!!
Would really like to see you do a review on the Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger
If you dialed 8 moa elevation then FFP or SFP doesn’t matter, only if you’re holding over manually.
Did you say what caliber you got it in?
With the hard recoil pad 6.5 creed would be a good choice
270
There are lots of cheap mausers out there with no plastic on them and made very well. They just aren't new.
This was a fun video. Do more of these.
Zastava lk m70 best Mauser for the money, hands down… and they make a lefty
very informative, thank you :)
Nice shooting
Sauer 100 would be an interesting comparison, quite similar but the fit and finish seems better
It’s the same rifle as M18.
Did you mention, that the trigger and the trigger housing are made from plastic? Can you confirm this?
Can't believe that it is only a few hundred bugs in the US since it costs more than 1000,-€ in Germany.
Cheers
Would love to see your review of the Sauer 100 rifle!
It’s the same rifle. The stock on the Sauer is just a bit better.
I have tip for another rifles which could be in comparative test. Affordable rifles.
Sabatti rover Hunter
Haenel Jaeger 10
Ata turqua
CZ600 Alpha
I run a 30-06 with this gun. Short barrel, nice action. One of the most handy guns I’ve owned.
30-06 leupold scope
Don’t forget Savage Axis - it’s a great budget hunting rifle.
What caliber was this rifle chambered in?
I got a Sauer 100 which is basically the same rifle.
For me as a German it sounds so funny how you pronounce Präzisionsgarantie🤣🤣🤣
I've been eyeing one in 7mm rem mag. Sitting here in a shooting house muzzleloader hunting in Alabama watching this video. Lol
Good luck Daniel. Break that 7 rem mag out this Saturday. I will not hit the AL woods until December, but I am looking forward to it.
Based on that recoil pad I don't know if I would get one in 7mm mag
He was already complaining about it and said its only as 270 win in the comments.
The seriousness when talking about the smoky nuts😂😂😂😂
I wonder why they stopped producing the stock in black? I wanted one in black, but by the time I was ready to buy one, they were no were to be seen.
Zerotech are ok for the price, I have the 27x in the same scope but its a ffp
“But I would say it’s about 12 Smokey nuts and one of those chocolate eyeballs from my kids Halloween candy, that’s nice to have around” 😂
Also really excited for the “best gun under” work that is forthcoming!
I love my Zero Tech Trace Advanced.
Other than the scope been in second focal plane, what was it like & did they give you a price? Great content as always 👍
