    Good review, David. I bought my M18 in 30-06 about nine months ago and am as happy as a clam. Got mine on sale from EuroOptic for $399. Shipped to my local FFL for $10 more. In my opinion, this is the finest bolt action budget rifle on the market, period. Great trigger, fast bolt operation, good stock, lightweight, and stupid accurate My results mirror yours, and 5 shot sub MOA groups are common. Just with more Americans knew about this rifle.

      🇦🇺😎👍Hey mate I have one and just a warning with the M18. Never stick your finger up the mag well area and manipulate the mag catch as the spring has no retainer and if you move the catch too much the spring falls out. Trust me you will never find the spring.🙄. I went back to the gunshop and they gave me a replacement spring. They told me it has a design fault.

    I would add that this is the Best bang for your buck. Have one for a couple of years, in 308. Shoots sub MOA. Not too finicky about ammo, but 168gr work a treat. Looking for an 8x57 and might end going for another M18. Thanks.

    Nice rifle . My favorite thing about this rifle and the Sauer 100 is the bolt locks into barrel instead of the receiver. I'm thinking about the Sauer 100 classic with beach wood it has a unique beautiful look to me or the Mauser M12 Pure or Expert or Sauer 202. I have to have wood I can't stand plastic. Thanks for sharing 👍

    nice rifle i have m12 chambered 30-06 that caliber 9.3x62 is simular american caliber 375 H&H use in safari for big game

  • @G19Jeeper
    @G19Jeeper 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    9.3x62 is a very popular cartridge in Europe and is gaining popularity here in the US. It is based off a .30-06 and is stuffed with a 9.3mm/.366" bullet weighing around 286 gr for a standard load. Great video, these are on sale at EuroOptic and Im debating on one of these to go with my Sauer 100

    • @petrisandberg3887
      @petrisandberg3887 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nonsense. 9.3x62 was designed by Otto Bock in Germany in 1905. It's not based to 30-06.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petrisandberg3887 correct. I should have worded it different. While the 06 is not the parent case, I use it as an example because it’s easier for most people to understand the metrics, specifically for European based cartridges.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@petrisandberg3887 also, for the record, it may not necessarily be derived from the 06 but the .30-03 did come before it. I would imagine the designer looked at the 7.92x57 during its development

    • @petrisandberg3887
      @petrisandberg3887 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@G19Jeeper Yeah, metrics can be tough for the people in USA. .35 Whelen could be comfortable close to 9.3x62 to get an idea about the caliber? They are practically pretty identical when the bullet hits on the shoulder of the moose :) Everything else is semantics.

    • @drew5337
      @drew5337 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      9.3x62 is also suitable for dangerous game, having similar performance to .375H&H, and like the .375 can certainly be the "only" rifle you need for safari, as it works well on plains game also, though you do want to get closer than say you would with a 300 win, as the bullet drop gets considerate at longer ranges.

    The bolt seems lo0se in the action because it's a front locking rifle. Most front locking centerfires are like that. It doesn't affect the fit or function of the rifle adversly.

      @@drdrake63 ...usually does when mounted as close to bore w/o touching. I purchased a DNZ "RAPID HEIGHT" tool specifically designed to determine height from receiver top to scope bottom so I'd stop buying rings that would usually end up being still too high.
