I’m super DIY too (I’ve renovated our entire custom 1970 manufactured home, which is why I watch vids like these for fun!) and my husband paints classic cars, so luckily over the years he’s taught me that prep is EVERYTHING! I prob would’ve cleaned with paint stripper or thinner and a scraper first, then sanded, washed, wiped with thinner again, then painted.

It looks really nice! We put that kind of backsplash up and inside of a year we took it down, it started buckling in different places. We kept fixing it with all different adhesives.........nothing worked for long. I wish you much better luck than we had. It does look like your countertops will last with the special sealant you used👍

The countertops held up really well!! I had them for probably a little over a year and then we ripped out our entire kitchen and remodeled it. I would definitely recommend doing that process for a budget friendly makeover.

That turned out great…maybe a 1/4 round piece of wood where the tile meets the counter to finish it off..love the color…little one is the cutest…👍👍👍👍👍
