I don't have a multicoloured yarn with sparkles, but I know I have single colour sparkly yarn, so I will use that and try to buy something similar to your yarn one day. I made it into a shawl! Pretty!
I did a little test run of the pattern and worked up a few rows. I like the addition of your posts as well. Fills the holes more and looks pretty. The 32 stitch is a great number for kids and adults!!

Hi carol,if you want to make a blanket I would say chain until it looks wide enough ,then start pattern,hope that helps,😊😊😊
I usually chain around 110 or 120 for a baby blanket
