Before I got my first I got my first pitbull, I was weary about the breed. Afterwards owning two wonderful pitbulls, I fell in love with the breed ,they are loving and loyal dogs who want nothing more than to be around their families. The two pitbulls I owned were big cuddle bugs who thought they were lap dogs.
My pittie is so entitled lol, she thinks I owe her the world… I try to give her the best life possible😇. I salute you to getting two pitties even after being a little cautious.
@Porter-1488 exactly, they go from cuddle bugs to lethal monsters on a whim and you never know if/when they are going to switch into maul mode. and once they're in that state, they refuse to snap out of it unless they are struck with extreme force (like gunshots or getting stabbed)
I got a pit bull from the shelter that was supposedly aggressive towards other animals. Her cage had a warning sign which I’m sure would’ve ruined her chances to get adopted. That dog was the nicest dog I’ve ever had. She made friends with all the strangers at the house. My long haired chihuahua on the other hand bit people’s ankles and barked nonstop. BTW that pit bull ended up living with other dogs.
My female shelter pit used to chase the neighbor's chihuahua around in circles, her trying to play & him growling (and running) the whole time. His owner always referred to my dog as the chihuahua's "girlfriend".
If u get a pit at a young age and you socialize them and take care of them you’ll have a great dog when it’s all set and done but that’s with any dog, people just don’t know how to handle that prey drive but there are dogs bigger and stronger than pits with even more prey drive so it’s all about being an experience owner cuz their not the best 1st dogs if we are keeping it real lol 🤷🏽♂️😂
Thank you for this video! I wanted to cry happy tears for you providing such an educational video and positively promoting pit bulls. They are my favorite breed and I will always have one. I currently have a 9 year old APBT/AM STAFF who is my search and rescue cadaver dog. I also trust my boy around kids (worst he’ll do is steal food lol) I also trust him around my cats and small dogs. 20/10 best dog ever.
We had a pitty for over 14 years.....he was the sweetest most loving dog ,he adored 2 of my grandsons and was my youngest son with Downs best friend. In his later years as he got cancer, we tenderly cared for him and were with him when he crossed over into eternity.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Some dogs are special and hold a place in our hearts tht can’t be replaced sadly😭. I have a rescue pit and she’s amazing the sweetest best girl ever. She loves everyone
Thank you for telling the truth about this amazing breed, and doing your best to educate the public. They make the best family dogs! We've had our 2 Pitts for 5 years now, and added an American Bully 2 years ago ❤
Sure this was a watered down version of the truth. But I guess the algorithm won't allow the unadulterated version of the truth. I've owned nothing but APBTs since the 80s, and they are truly astounding. ✌️🐸
We have a pittie at my dog daycare who wasn’t accepted anywhere else for reasons I’m not necessarily sure. She’s funny with new people but all she ever does is bark at me, she’s never once tried to bite a person or start a fight with a dog she’s just a little vocal at times. I love her so much and she’s coming out of her shell and making new human and doggie friends. Socialize your dogs!!! It is very important.
@Porter-1488 Spread your hate elsewhere. It's not the breed. Always a new dog people blame. German Shepherds, Rotties- it's the owner. They were originally farming dogs until humans forced them into horrible things. It's not their fault.
@Porter-1488my guy have you ever owned or had one in your family I used to play in Pitt bull pins as a kid and never got bit or nipped or anything sad your basically suggesting a genocide of a dog species 😂 you know a little pomarian dog has mauled a kid to death don’t demonize every dog in a species for the few who have mental problems due to over breeding or just bad owners in general I hope one day the biggest pit bull in your town shows you what a baby they really are
I don't think Pitbull is for everyone, but unfortunately, many people with lack of financial means adopt this powerful, high prey drive working dogs and failed to provide them training that cause lots of tragedies (dog fatalities statistics is pretty clear).
I agree on the most part of what you are saying other than needing money to train a pitbull. In my OPINION if an owner isn’t willing to put in the time to train their own dog or realize their dog’s personality and if their dog has a high pray drive. No amount of training from a stranger will help. If you can’t put in the time to watch and take care of a powerful dog like a pitbull or any working dog you just shouldn’t have it.
Unfortunately, the statistics everyone loves to refer to are deeply flawed. Anything that roughly resembles a pitbull is counted as a pitbull. A tiny percentage are pitbulls, pitbull crosses make up a bit of the list, and many are not pitbulls in any way. It's based on the observations of non dog people who see a big dog and assume it is a pitbull. Then ignorance repeats the flawed data, and people just accept it.
My childhood dog was a pit and he saved my dads life when 3 boxers went to attack them on a walk and saved my cousins life when he stayed the night at my house at 11 years old and had laid on his back and started throwing up in the middle of his sleep.
Love the intro, couldn’t stop laughing when he started goofing around. It’s exactly like you mentioned, a lot depends on how you treat and train them. On top of that people tend to do stupid things around animals. If you hit or constantly provoke a pittie (or any dog for that matter) you shouldn’t be suprised to get it coming back at you.
AGREED i can be provoked if u tormented me.. y not ANY dog... go ahead and pick on my mutt.. she got some teeth and she will show you them if u come in my house uninvited lol
I've always been a large breed lover, could never tolerate tiny, yappy, snappy dogs. We had boxers growing up, and I could never deal with anything smaller than them. I was wary of Pitbull's of all kinds. I did strongly believe owners were more the problem than the actual dogs, but I still didn't have faith, I'd do any better than the next person. A year ago, a ten-week old XL Bully wandered into our lives, and I can't explain how profound a feeling it is for a huge pitbull to choose you. Her face is so soft, but you can feel the power behind every goofball hug. She's got a tail like a Great Dane haha, and tons of energy. We have to muzzle restricted breeds in public where I'm from, but she takes it all in her stride. Never ever had an issue. Amazing dog. I can honestly say, I am converted.... happily!
Years ago I started watching that pitbull rescue show on animal planet and seriously considered making the trip down to New Orleans Via Lobos rescue once my old girl passes. But just before COVID an abandoned, aged, arthritic and emaciated pitbulls wandered into my life. Vet thought she was likely abandoned to die in the snow. That dog was skin and bones, and could hardly walk, but when she really wanted to she had the raw power needed to drag me. I had her for 6 months. She was a sweet wonderful dog. I decided for the sake of the dog that I couldn't adopt a pot bull because I don't have the physical strength required to restrain a pit in their prime.
Congratulations! You have won the doggy lottery. Your prizes are laughs, loyalty and love to the moon and back. They are the best and soooooo easy to train due to their intelligence and eagerness to please (my experiences as a trainer ). Enjoy all the great years ahead.
I just got one from a shelter a week ago. I can't express how pleased I am that Lou joined our family. He's great - very gentle, loves to play, and super affectionate. Already learning new tricks at 6 and a half years old! Very smart breed that is entirely misunderstood!
The creator has another video out abut a specific pittbull whose offspring ended up killing people. One of the offspring killed a 4 year old girl. It's genetic, because it was offspring of one particular stud. Saying "just because a pittbull does more damage" is non-sense, because the amount of damage done in a dog attack is exactly the issue. More than half of all lethal dog attacks in the US are by pittbul type breeds. The other hundreds of breeds cause less than half of lethal attacks and there was probably NEVER a lethal dog attack committed by a Chihuahua.
Exactly. People are delusional. I'd never, ever, bring one of these unpredictable mutts into my home, around children, smaller pets or elderly people. I'm so tired of the excuses, fictitious stories & careless disregard for others.
I worked at a kennel. I was bitten by a chihuahua, Labrador and a Border Collie never a tough breed dog. My job was to walk the shepherds, Rottweilers, Pits, staffs, bull terriers, ambulls and never ever had issues with them. Great video! Almost got me to!!
Thank you for sharing this. I know a border collie who attacks peoples ankles who she doesn’t know lol she a little crazy but once you’re on her good side she is a sweetie.
poodles should be banned..lol little jerks with bad attitudes. i have been bitten by 5 poodles i would rather face a pissed off pittie than a sleeping poodle!!!lol
Agree entirely. Best way to deal with a dangerous pit is "who a liddle baby?!". I have a staffy and used to have a pitty and they are lovely. I have a scar from a dog bite. It was from a lab, but in defense of the lab, I had been told not to climb into his car and force my affection on him. He was an old dog and I was 3 and snuck out when my parents weren't looking. I was nearly bitten in the face by a Jack Russell terrier too.
When we brought our baby home from the hospital. Our 2 year old pitbull was so fascinated by our little baby. Now that our son is 17 months old. They are absolute best friends in every way. Our son loves going and picking up the pits ball/toys and throwing them. He laughs so hard while the dog is running to get the ball/toy. If I was to go grab the ball/toy, our pit loves to play tug of war! But if our son goes over our pit will softly push the toy over so our son can pick it up. Our son will go over and just lay on our pit when he is tired, and our pit does not move a muscle. To many times, I have seen pits tied up in a yard, with a broken down shelter, nasty food bowls, overgrown lawn and barely any contact with the outside world. Not surprised when they finally get loose, they run off and hurt people. Unless a dog has some type of personality/mental disorder that makes them aggressive. I think the owner is 100% responsible for how the dog acts. We have lost the idea of personal accountability in this world, and it is sad.
I have a Pitbull from a rescue and from day 1 he became best friends with my Cat. This dog that was feared by my whole family became their all time favorite dog we've ever had beating the Labradors we've had before.
Same here with the cat, my pit bull baby sat my cat while he was a kitten, she would even carry him by the scruff when he was going to go somewhere she couldn’t see him.
Yup I think it's a lot less aggression and a lot more prey drive, that being said I support the banning of pits, they can be amazing dogs but they are waaay too accessible and way to easily abused. I'd rather they are limited to professional breeders and serious owners rather than any thug or kid with 15$ to spare. They can be great dogs but they are Way too overrepresented and simultaneously under represented I think the breed needs to take a step back for some serious breed control and rebranding.
@@jessicagislason4855You'd take your comment back if you owned a pit bull. All types of pit bulls can be just as vicious as any other breed. Saying you support the ban on pits just shows your ignorance and misinformation. I'd trust my pits over any other bread
@@smasherjt correct, but most breeds aren't built with the size weight and agility of a pit, they are a terrier, terriers are absolute prey driven nuts without training. Most people nowadays can't be bothered to train a Chihuahua much less a 60lb pit, I'd rather we not have them when they'll more than likely end up abused or blamed for owners negligence, they don't have a specific purpose anymore anyway so personally I'd rather they were restricted to serious owners or just done with.
Love this so much, we have to stop the stigma around pits and other bully breeds. We have a pit lab mix we adopted a year ago and he is the absolute best boy in the world, especially with our kids. Not to mention how goofy he is and thanks for the tips and tricks those will come in handy.
He has a goofy personality and I can imagine the laughter he provides his family! I have a super hyper one just like this...the part where u laid down...lmao it's a mirror to my Bear in action! He is the funniest dude ever! But he wants all skin to fur when it's time to rest. Half on me and half on dad and he lets the other dogs know that's his spot! And as a type A no in between old school guy, dad's not the type to let a dog in his personal space but he allows it with bear🥰 a very special dog so I see the same in this guy!
I have a rescue pit and she is the sweetest most loving smartest dog I’ve ever had or been around. My brother has one too and they r both incredible dogs. Pits get a bad rap due to bad owners the overbreeding inbreeding mistreatment and abuse are due to garbage humans not the animals themselves it’s the owners
From what I have watched of your videos I think you are a good man and a great dog trainer. I recently watched your video on Dobermanns, my favorite breed and you were spot on. I have also lived with pits for 30 years and they are good dogs, not my breed, and I no longer live with them but I think you are spot on with these dogs. I do think they tend to be more prone to scrapping because terriers are more fiesty, and I can tell my dog Dobermann to step away from a potentially aggressive situation with another dog easier than any of the pits in my past. Other than that I think you were fair, funny and spot on. Thanks
Thank you for the tip on giving meds. I never heard the one of blowing on the nose until they lick. I have a pittie named Milo. He is exactly like Apollo, just a big goofball. He loves everything except the neighbor kid. 6 yr. Old that has never been disciplined loves to hit dogs with whatever is in his hand. I was working on my motor today, and this kid was around. Milo tries to avoid him, which is unusual for Milo. Next thing I hear is that milo gives a warning bark, and this kid is poking him in the mouth with a dust pan. So i had to stop it and bring milo inside. The parents won't hear anything negative about their kid. So i just said that he is no longer aloud to come over or be around milo. And of course, im the bad guy. But im not going to let it get worse. I dont know what else to do. Thanks, though your videos have been a huge help in raising Milo.
What a lover!!!!! He is 100% spot on with his description. They juat do more damage. And you dont have to teach them to bite. They will protect you. We love our pitty mix. I will never have anything but. They are the most in need of good homes and they appreciate it! You have to have the attention to give to them. They want to be with their family, but they will give it back tenfold.
I have my one year old GSD and he had to take some pretty big pills and I said Keczqin time for your pill and the funniest thing, he opened in bottom jaw so I could give him his pill. He did this the whole duration of him having to take his pills. So cool. Great video. Stay C4 brother.
My yorkie has just survived an attack from the neighbor's pitbull. My dog was on a leash. We were walking down my driveway to meet the schoolbus. The neighbor's dog with no leash, no collar just jump out of the bush... That was horrendous...
@professorvalk Genetics are a HUGE factor, too. So many Pittbull lovers are ignoring that. Many Pitbulls have a shitty temperament because of bad breeding and being bred to fight
I am so happy to hear your fur baby survived. We lost our Chihuahua (Einstein) in the same manner as you described. At the time, we had new neighbors who moved in (3 houses down from ours) and who owned a Pitbull mix and it got out from the gate. The Pitbull came towards my husband and began to sniff our dog which was leashed. The neighbor yelled out, he's fine...he won't hurt a fly...the same old pathetic story. I get so angry hearing the same thing from Pitbull owners and their so called lovable pets (who raised/trained them right and in loving homes). My husband was going to pick up Einstein when the Pitbull suddenly sank its teeth into the neck of our fur baby...snapped the leash and took off with our lifeless dog in its mouth. My husband chased the Pitbull down towards the neighbor's house...trying to get our dog, not realizing he was already gone. The Pitbull then turned and attacked my husband (who survived). I will never get over this tragedy and I cannot imagine if I had lost my husband in the attack. I am still haunted by the story of Kirsten Bernard and her 2 young children's death. I don't understand it, never will. How many times, of the same story, does it take for people to get it through their heads about this breed? How many more lives are going to be lost to this breed? Since Feb 2024, Pitbulls have killed 101 Americans in the last 37 months... an average of nearly three a month (ref: Animals-24-7). It makes me sick.
Thanks for this. Our apartment neighbors have two, and I think they probably aren't bad dogs, but they are completely untrained and poorly controlled. So much lunging, barking, growling whenever I need to pass them in the breezeway. The kids are usually the ones bringing them out of the house for walks, so I figure if something happens, I'm probably going to need to be the one to try to help the situation. But I'm a disabled lady, so this would be a challenging kind of dog to subdue in any meaningful way. So far, they've each gotten away from their people and rushed me, but thankfully I caught their heads and it's been a mooostly friendly encounter both times, but that seemed to be a choice the dogs made about two thirds of the way over to me. Thanks for the info about their face and head anatomy. I don't have a ton of experience with Pitbulls outside of these two, so that was helpful. I love big dogs, but training is so important!!!
Most of the dogs we’ve had growing up w my family were pit bulls. I remember I have fond memories of all of them. Loving dogs. Now that I have my own family and house I got a red nose terrier. He’s such a good boy
You tried so hard to sound serious when you were calling that pittie aggressive and mean. I could hear the sarcasm, and was just waiting for the dog to be super gentle. I'm so glad I was right! That tail thumping soon as you opened the crate was such a beautiful sound!
Call me nut or crazy but I have a 2 year old and a 14 year old and yes a pit. My dog is the same breed as this dog. And our dog would never hurt my kids. He is the best dog we have ever had. The smartest dog we have ever had. So smart. Best family dog we have ever had. Amazing dog. He sleeps with my 14 year old ever night.
Same, mine is an Amstaff mix, big, strong and super fluffy, I am not even sure he would attack an intruder, pretty sure he will bring them the ball AH!
Love this! I own 2 pitbull/amstaff mix puppies and they are LITERALLY the sweetest dogs I've ever owned, I couldn't ask for better dogs for my family. However i wouldn't recommend them for families with small children because the don't know their own strength and believe they are 60lb lap dogs. Early training and socialization are key
Awesome video, thank you for doing our Bully buddies justice! Nice tips on giving meds, I like to put pills in braunschweiger, too, for the more stubborn pups out there.
I just lost my 8 year old pit bull Bisquit in May. I miss her badly. I am fostering a Border collie mix and she’s crazy! I am getting your e-collar course because nobody wants to adopt her because she’s so excitable and leash reactive. Hoping to find another wonderful pittie soon.
I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Biscuit. Thanks for fostering, it's hard work and definitely a labor of love. Crazy BC girl needs a job. She needs something to herd or channel the energy with frisbee, fly ball or agility. BCs are off the charts with energy and don't make good pets unless the owner is super active and knows how to channel all that energy. Hiking and bicycling are also great for her. These guys basically are bred to run all day long on many acres herding. Lots of mental stimulation will also help drain her. Best of luck.
Pitbulls are maybe the most misunderstood dogs. They are one of the most lovable family pets, but as you have said are so full of energy that very few are capable to withstand their stamina to play and run. My first time of meeting a pitbull was in 1986 in my home town when an old friend of mine brought back home his dog Bruno from the States and I was astounded by the dog's playfull and loveble character! Nowdays very good friends of mine have pitbulls and we're having a great time playing...
Just came across this video. I have been binge watching your videos after adopting my Pitty mix. He is 5-7 years old. He is the sweetest thing ever. I say all the time to people that are nervous around him his most dangerous end is the tail. Just no garden hoses he hates them.
My girls (both pitties) are so loving and playful. It’s all in how they are raised and socialized. We always had pittbulls and socialized them with everyone and other animals. They are cuddle bugs.
Awww G I love your sarcasm! In the right hands with proper socialization and training Pits and Am Staffs are top notch and among the best of the best ❣️ My Am Staff was the best dog I ever had hands down.
Zhahn-Pam from Team Peaches Dog Training and Education. I have been training dogs since 1969. Hi again. I have 7 dogs and 3 are pittie mixes. Male, lab/pittie. two siblings that are pittie and some other terrier breed/s. Loved your intro. I laughed so hard.
Why is it that we can say German shepherds are breed to herd. Labradors are breed to retrieve. Greyhounds are breed to run. But for some reason pitbulls are totally excluded from genetic tendencies and can’t be labeled.
Because it's not PC, don't be racist. Pitbulls and pitbull type breeds may make up 60% of bite fatalities(Despite not even being in the top 10 of owned dogs) but that doesn't mean they are aggressive.
@@onholyservicebound1415read what you just wrote again and tell me how you're making any sense. They're owned a tenth of what other dogs are but they are responsible for 60% of bite fatalities. So they're 6 times more likely to kill another animal than any other breed. As big moe said, they're bred to do that. Let's not beat around the bush. They're bred to do it and they're good at it. Plain and simple.
Shepherds whether German shepherds or Anatolian shepherds or Australian shepherds herding livestock is their primary function but they can also be used for other things. Pitbulls on the other hand are bred to hunt wild boars and to herd cattle
You crack me up. I have a 6-year-old & a 4 year old both girls they are the most beautiful loving dogs I've ever had. Great with little kids They are the best. I highly recommend them as a family member.
When I was 1st married to my Wife our 1st dog was a red fawn pit bull that we rescued after her and the other 9 litter mates so a total of 10 7 week old puppies were dumped along one of the most busiest highways we have in out home state of Aladka in s cardboard box lucky for them someone with a actual heart stopped and rescued the entire litter and brought them to our local rescue group...we rescued a little female and her name became Star..hand down she still to this day was was and has been the best most loyal and extremely loving dog I have ever owned......the day we brought our 1st son home from the hospital I couldn't believe my eyes on how amazing our girl Star was with our new born son it was as if those two had already spent their entire lives together she was so sweet and loving and quickly became his baby sister and protector and refused to sleep in her own nice soft doggie bed she had instead her new spot became to be right next to his crib.. hell when our son started crawling he could crawl all over her and it did nothing but put a huge smile on her face and she even taught our son how to walk....they were the best friends ever and were inseparable right up till the day we had to kindly let her go because of cancer..but those 7 years those two had each other were something so incredibly special that doesnt come around often or from every dog..for fluorescent sake this bread were called and referred to the nanny dog for a reason....so those people that continue to give the pit bull breed a bad reputation need to take the time to 1st educate them self's prior to opening there mouths and talking crap...the phrase THERE'S NO BAD DOG ONLY BAD PEOPLE OR OWNERS is around for a reason because its 1000% true every which way you want to slice it or look at it....not to mention one of the smartest most trainable dogs I have ever had the privilege of being able to work with EVER and let's face the truth it is absolutely a privilege 1000% of being able to work with any dog and or breed...
I have a yard of ADBA Standard APBT. They are all on teethering set up. I have Game dogs for 15 years. They are NOT for more than 90% of dog owners. I have 7 weeks old pups kill each other. I have had yard accidents where I lost both dogs. You have to understand that they are NOT a Pack Animal. I'm not talking about the 80 KG, Blue Mastiff looking dogs. I'm talking about a 17kg athelete who do not like other Animals period. That being said, I have never seen a more versatile, clever and more loyal dogs in my life ever. You have to understand, this not a dog you take to dogpark and not expect an accident. There instincts are built for Humans not other animals. To make them get along with other dogs is not in there nature PERIOD. Once you accept that and Deal with them accordingly, you will NEVER find a better breed to own. It's in my blood. I don't eat if my dogs don't eat.
Man, you had me fired up for a second. I've had pits my whole life. Now I have an American bully and a small terrier mix. The little dog is a problem. The AB is the sweetest dog, although he looks like he could eat a lion . All the other pits I've had have been incredible. Thanks for representing them correctly. Well done man.
I have a pitbull coming today. These type of videos are so helpful. I’ve worked with pits before but every dog is different so I’m excited to get to know my new best friend
I am glad you did that video...I grew up around those amazing dogs and I never want any else breed...Right now i've got one now and every single person is afraid of him, cause he looks at them but he just want them to pet him a cudle with them all the time ❤❤ He is amazing around people especially kids.... but as you say cats and small dogs looking like cats are problem...thank you for this video
I have a pit about a year and a half. I wish I could get her to calm down. Oh boy the energy she has. She’s a good girl. She gets so excited around other people. Any tips for me? 😊 I want to be the best person for her.
I’ve wanted to try and own another dawg, but pit bulls are just too great of a breed. Both my daughters were brought home to different pits and both times were such an amazing experience. First daughter my dawg was twirling around in circles with excitement, told him to calm down and he sat right down wanting to see her, I lowered her down and he kept looking to me to make sure everything was okay, liked at her feet and looked that it was okay, set her in her crib and he licked the side of the crib and laid right down by the crib and didn’t move! 2nd daughter we had a 8 week old puppy and she laid right down around her head, didn’t try to lick and just stayed by the baby! At 8 weeks she already knew that was her baby and she took the best care of her for her whole life. Truly amazing animals and ESPECIALLY with kids
❤i miss my little sweetheart so much. She was the best dog and I have ever had. She raised my grandsons. Most loving dogs the are bull dogs and terriers. They need a strong and loving hand.
We saved a Pitbull from the shelter 3 weeks ago. We were looking for a sweet dog and at the shelter all the other dogs were barking and very loud but she was sitting calmly at her kennel gate not making a sound. We walked past her several times because I instantly recognized she was a Pit and we had preconceived ideas about them and of course had heard the horror stories, so we had said we would never own a pitbull for that reason however she calmly placed her paw up on the gate and whimpered once and my wife asked if we could meet her. They took us into a little room Me, my wife and our daughter and the guy went to get the dog and brought her in the room with us. She was elated to come see us, wagging her tail and loving on all of us. Within 10 seconds my wife said we will take her and mine and my daughter’s jaw hit the floor like really? Lol Guys she has been the best dog we could have ever hoped for no lie. Loves to snuggle all day if she needs to and is fine with that, loves to play, crate trained, house broken just perfect in every way. Our ideas about pitbulls have been changed since taking ownership of her and we just love her and she loves us! Do not shy away from these dogs they are great!
Thank you for sticking up for Pitts people really give them a bad name, I've had a few over the years, not one ever harmed anyone, love and great training is definitely the key
I got a mix. Half standard pitbull terrier and half bandog. He's a bit bigger than a standard pitty. But he's awesome. Super sweet but also extremely protective
I just adopted my second pit mix. We lost our first pit to a very sudden illness a short time ago. I have fallen in love with how sweet and protective they are. Our new rescue took less than 48 hours to decide it was her job to protect my 6 yr old twins from everything, even from each other.
I love pitbulls, I had two! They’re very good with children, only problems I had was related to how they behaved with other animals, almost like a frenesi drive to kill sometimes.
When I got my first Pit it was a gift from my son. I said to myself are you crazy well I quickly found out what a fantastic friend they are. I am now on my second one and I have the feeling as I did with the first It all depends on what you want from your friend and how much are you are willing to give of your self
I almost cursed you out... I literally deleted all the insults I had written... scared me there for a minute.. gosh, I was actually mad as hell... pitties are amazing awesome and God sent...Thank you for the content. Peace
Same about the Labs biting! I have a big baby of a bully dog who is amazing with my daughter and loves the attention of children I knew the moment we was Apollo he was a big baby too
Thankyou for speaking on behalf of these amazing dogs. I don't have a picture but I've looked after a few over the years while there humans were away. The red nose girl I last looked after was like an acrobat... just an amazing dog. Love the breed personally and I feel bad for pitties who get avoided in general. They love love love good people.
I absolutely LOVE PITBULLS. My boy is a Boxer Staffordshire mix, full of energy, does absolutely beautiful with all dogs. But, I'll admit, I do tend to get leery when I see another Pittie, ONLY because I don't know how the owner treats their pup or if they had proper socialization, luckily, I've been proven wrong thus far. It's not the breed of the dog that makes me cautious it's the owner and how the pup was raised.
How a dogs raised doesn't always mean anything.. REAL pitbulls, American "pitbull" terriers, were created & bred to be aggressive towards other dogs & animals.. Genetics absolutely matter ! And you can't train, socialize or love genetic instincts out of a dog! I love pitbulls & have had them my whole life.. But, I also know ANY of them, at any point, can decide they don't want to be around other dogs. I've had plenty that lived their entire lives with other dogs & did absolutely fine ! But, have also had others that were raised indoors, socialized daily, trained, and still matured & couldn't be around other dogs anymore. Didn't make them bad dogs & 100% wasn't because of how they were raised
@@mikefrost1312 That really depends on which type of dog they're met and socialize with, if you had a pit raised with submissive dogs he probably will do fine, but if he Mets another dominant dog at the house or at a dog park shit can go pretty bad quickly and once they fight it's over, he will start to get more aggressive with other dogs, it´s really pissing me off people talking about pitbull without having a real traditional pitbull, only the mixed and modern ones. it´s an amazing breed with great hunting drive and gameness but they are not social dogs by any means and it´s not for anyone of course
@@thormenucci nope. I've raised APBT my entire life, literally.. Doesn't matter if another dog is friendly, submissive or any of that. If they don't like other dogs, they'll go after it ! EVERY dog I raise indoors is 100% friendly, non aggressive with dogs and back down from fights. When the pits go after them, they don't fight back, they don't "challenge" the Pitbulls AT ALL. The pits just go... It's in their DNA. Again, not EVERY ONE will be that way. I've also had dozens of pits that loved every dog they met.. some ppl just can't accept that real pitbulls, are a fighting breed & genetics matter more than "how a dogs raised"
@@mikefrost1312 Well i never saw an socialized pit attacking other dogs unless it Was provoked first or after they had their first serious fight, but The problem its that even if your pit its socialized if he have contact with another dominant dog they will fight eventually
@@thormenucci because the dogs you've seen were just good dogs ! I've had pits that wouldn't even fight back if another dog attacked & have had pits that would go after anything on 4legs just because they could see it .. Even some of my pits that grew up with peaceful, friendly, old dogs and got along with everyone, still woke up one day & just couldn't be around the other dogs anymore.. no other dogs did anything to them, nothing changed, the dog just matured & it's genetics took over. Yes, sometimes you can work with the dog & bring them out of it again, but not always.. The bloodlines matter too
Super episode. The UK Police have a specialist breeding programme for Criminal work as opposed to crowd control work. They breed Belgian Mallinois for their athleticism, intelligence , loyalty, Dedication ! ! and trainability. Every third generation they introduce American Pitbull because it has the same trainable qualities and adds a wider bite to the jaw due to the head size and the structure of the muscle groups which control their jaws The American Pitbull is also proving an excellent choice of breed to add to the latent Mallinois mind set. Your video shows why. They are fun to be around.
Just ran across your channel today. Excellent after only watching 3 videos😅. Last dog I had was a bully named Queenie… she was already an adult when we “saved” her but she was EXTREMELY friendly to everyone including my then 2yo daughter. BUT it was obvious previous owner fought her. We couldn’t take her around any dog her size or bigger. I miss ole Queenie
Honestly, the truth, I learned from my now 2 year old beef cake baby girl, she just wants to make me happy. Seems like MOST pitbulls. They just wanna make their owner happy. Even if it’s illegal, the dog don’t know, it’s just happy it thinks you’re happy. I know my dog, if I was ever for some effed up reason happy she attacked a dog, she would do it every time. And love it. When these incidents occur, I praise her for standing her ground, but I also praise her for walking away from the situation and maintaining her ability to listen to me while obviously cautiously monitoring the situation. She got the dog or human in her sights, this allows me to keep my dog in my sights. When you’re staring down the barrel of a 70lb pitbull, you’re not focused on me.
I had 2 of them... Simba and Nala both of them the sweetest dogs I ever had. Made friends with everyone, sadly Nala passed away 2023 and Simba left me last Feb. 😢 Had them for over 11 years.
I grew up around pitbulls and I have mine around newborns ,babies, toddlers, you name it and they do fantastic, they love being around adults but the minute they see a any small human they ecstatic and the adults are chopped liver. Not to mention that I'm just gonna start showing people this video just to show them its not just my own dogs that act like this.
As a child i was attacked by a jack russell (nearly 15 yrs later i still have the scar) and i had a lot of aggressive small dogs. The moment i got my first pit after research and prep, i brought my sweet girl home. She was terrified of my bearded dragon and little kitten, but absolutely adored the children of my appartment. I always educate those willing to approach us and let them give her a treat to learn that pits aren't as what media portrays. 💚 Of a lot of the dogs I've trained(im not a professional its my own personal dogs) from pit to Chihuahua i adore the pit the most!
Bahaha. I love the intro. I have a pit bull rescue and he's the sweetest boy ever. Super stubborn but sweet to everyone, my 3 pound cat picks on him. Pit bulls are big loves and need to have someone who likes a dog that snuggles, I tend to think it's a girls dog. They like to sleep under the covers and on the couch. Though, I don't dare anyone to mess with my kid. I love your channel so much. Thank you for what you do.
I have 2 pit bulls and they're the biggest babies in the world. 1 is a staffordshire terrier and the other I believe is a pit bull terrier. Best dogs ever
Wary
hahaha, just don't go and do an interview when they "suddenly" go aggressive
My pittie is so entitled lol, she thinks I owe her the world… I try to give her the best life possible😇. I salute you to getting two pitties even after being a little cautious.
want to be around their families. thats not the problem. noone said they didnt.
@Porter-1488 exactly, they go from cuddle bugs to lethal monsters on a whim and you never know if/when they are going to switch into maul mode. and once they're in that state, they refuse to snap out of it unless they are struck with extreme force (like gunshots or getting stabbed)
He was in his crate drumming with his tail. Too cute
So was it agressive to other animals?
@@bill-or-somthingbill4390 no sir
My female shelter pit used to chase the neighbor's chihuahua around in circles, her trying to play & him growling (and running) the whole time. His owner always referred to my dog as the chihuahua's "girlfriend".
Yeah so everything Bout pitbulls is made up
If u get a pit at a young age and you socialize them and take care of them you’ll have a great dog when it’s all set and done but that’s with any dog, people just don’t know how to handle that prey drive but there are dogs bigger and stronger than pits with even more prey drive so it’s all about being an experience owner cuz their not the best 1st dogs if we are keeping it real lol 🤷🏽♂️😂
I love that. So wholesome
@Porter-1488 ,
Life Experience,
Your opinion is yours~~ have the kind of day you deserve..
Some of em are genetically messed up too. Plenty of cases of out of the blue reactivity attacking children, people and other dogs.
@@PittBlu213 that dosent change the fact that pitbulls are unpredictable and unstable breeds.
You don't need money to train. Maybe only balls and cheese and whole lot of TH-cam. My dog is trained without professional input.
My pitbull shows nothing but signs of aggression…… micro aggression that is. Always bumps into me, and never excuses herself. SMH.
My childhood dog was a pit and he saved my dads life when 3 boxers went to attack them on a walk and saved my cousins life when he stayed the night at my house at 11 years old and had laid on his back and started throwing up in the middle of his sleep.
I've had mine for 6 years ,loves my son and my wife, very protective and obedient, good with other animals and super chill at home
Seriously I really love how informative your videos are. You clearly know exactly what you are talking about 100%
Love the intro, couldn’t stop laughing when he started goofing around.
Agree. Some people are pure evil, tormenting their pets to prove What?!?
First time Pitty owner. Best dog I've ever had by far! Very sweet, smart, attentive and willing to learn
Demonizing other breeds to make pits look better is really hypocritical and not a good look
You wouldn't be writing this comment if a shitbull bit you.
Thank you for sharing this. I know a border collie who attacks peoples ankles who she doesn’t know lol she a little crazy but once you’re on her good side she is a sweetie.
You got me bro. I was firing up my keyboard to write a nasty comment about labs biting more people than pitbulls 🤣 well done 👍:)
Haha. Thanks for watching
@@AmericanStandardK9 What do you think of pit bulls being guards dogs? Or personal protection I should say
It’s a very Cheap dog. Over rated breed.
I have a pitbull. Best dog iv ever had. She connects with me. Talks with her eyes
poodles should be banned..lol little jerks with bad attitudes. i have been bitten by 5 poodles i would rather face a pissed off pittie than a sleeping poodle!!!lol
That intro - priceless! Your videos just keep getting better and better, Garret! So glad you didn't need the 911 call :-)
He is 911😅
I have a Pitbull from a rescue and from day 1 he became best friends with my Cat. This dog that was feared by my whole family became their all time favorite dog we've ever had beating the Labradors we've had before.
Same here with the cat, my pit bull baby sat my cat while he was a kitten, she would even carry him by the scruff when he was going to go somewhere she couldn’t see him.
My experience with pits is their people aggression is exaggerated, their animal aggression is not.
@Tacothechicken Guarantee my 2 pits are more well behaved and great with my child than your dogs
@@jessicagislason4855yup get rid of every big dog then lmao cause there are alot of aggressive big dogs bud not just Pitts
He's similar to how my Baxter was then.. he's over 10 years now, but he's goofy, and can be a great dog..
Loved this episode.
Thanks
Thank you I have owned pitbull since 2008 and I have rescued them since2011, Great dogs. You have to be a responsible owner!
Yep it's the sad truth that pitbulls with no training or love are basically beast but they are incredibly sweet if loved and trained
@professorvalk Genetics are a HUGE factor, too. So many Pittbull lovers are ignoring that. Many Pitbulls have a shitty temperament because of bad breeding and being bred to fight
@@abc8561 yep
@@abc8561Yeah, even this video doesn't mention animals bred for temperament, as if it doesn't exist.
I rescued an American Bully last year. He's a total goof and the most affectionate dog I've ever owned.
I have one of these breeds too, pits are so loving and loyal if you treat them right and train them
Same, mine is an Amstaff mix, big, strong and super fluffy, I am not even sure he would attack an intruder, pretty sure he will bring them the ball AH!
Your free content is priceless. I will buy your DIY videos out of pure respect. Thank you so much.
Omg I love this guy !! Such a character…. I don’t even have a dog but I love his channel …. Funny heartfelt and educational!!!!
On my third rescue pit. She goes away for training and I can't wait to see her return. Best breed
Thank for rescuing ❤❤❤ Looking into that once I buy a house and stop renting
This dog isn’t mean
Shepherds whether German shepherds or Anatolian shepherds or Australian shepherds herding livestock is their primary function but they can also be used for other things. Pitbulls on the other hand are bred to hunt wild boars and to herd cattle
Soo true

I have a 6-year-old & a 4 year old both girls they are the most beautiful loving dogs I've ever had. Great with little kids
They are the best.
Thank you for the honesty about pittbulls!! Only dog's I've ever owned my entire life and their phenomenal dog's!
The intro 😂
I love pittbulls and their freindly nature!!! ❤
TY for the training at the end. :)
When I play your videos Beau hears your voice and get quite excited watching your videos . I find it funny. He definitely remembers u .
Ha that's funny
I love your channel. Thank you good sir for all that you do.
Thanks for your videos bro!
I love pitbulls, I had two! They’re very good with children, only problems I had was related to how they behaved with other animals, almost like a frenesi drive to kill sometimes.
THANK YOU! I have 2... they are the best dogs ive ever had!!!
When I got my first Pit it was a gift from my son. I said to myself are you crazy well I quickly found out what a fantastic friend they are. I am now on my second one and I have the feeling as I did with the first
It all depends on what you want from your friend and how much are you are willing to give of your self
Ond i love watching you with all dogs it amazing you are so calm you taught me so much ❤
I almost cursed you out... I literally deleted all the insults I had written... scared me there for a minute.. gosh, I was actually mad as hell... pitties are amazing awesome and God sent...Thank you for the content. Peace
I have had German shepherd Doberman Rottweiler Dalmatian Staffy and Pitbull now all of those dogs were good dogs but by far the Pitbull is the best
Love the video. I have to try the pill in the cheek move. I have one dog that takes meds great one that is terrible. Pit cattle dog mixes
Same about the Labs biting! I have a big baby of a bully dog who is amazing with my daughter and loves the attention of children
I knew the moment we was Apollo he was a big baby too
Thankyou for speaking on behalf of these amazing dogs. I don't have a picture but I've looked after a few over the years while there humans were away. The red nose girl I last looked after was like an acrobat... just an amazing dog. Love the breed personally and I feel bad for pitties who get avoided in general. They love love love good people.
As some1 who has owned pitbulls n cane corso all my life love ur videos.
My pittie is super sweet and does tricks. You can see a YT video of him: "Clark is Victorious." I've even done scent work with him indoors. 😅
I have 3 pitbulls well technically 1 pitbull, 1 bully and a cross of the two . They're the best dogs I ever got ❤
The bloodlines matter too
Beautiful and seriously determined dogs.
Wich makes them super amazing companions
Super episode. The UK Police have a specialist breeding programme for Criminal work as opposed to crowd control work. They breed Belgian Mallinois for their athleticism, intelligence , loyalty, Dedication ! ! and trainability. Every third generation they introduce American Pitbull because it has the same trainable qualities and adds a wider bite to the jaw due to the head size and the structure of the muscle groups which control their jaws
The American Pitbull is also proving an excellent choice of breed to add to the latent Mallinois mind set. Your video shows why.
They are fun to be around.
I will never have any other breed than a pittie. I love them so much!
I have 4 amazing friendly family Pitbulls trained. Raised well. So sweet
12:23 you missed the opportunity to say “call 911 now 😭💀” lol
I love Pitbulls! They are some of the sweetest dogs I've ever worked with! :) He's gorgeous!
General Patton had a Bull Terrier the heck with the Target dog...lol! Great Video!!
Love the intro! I love my pitties. Had one for 13 years and now i have anorher thats 6 months old
Just ran across your channel today.
Gorgeous dog❤
As a child i was attacked by a jack russell (nearly 15 yrs later i still have the scar) and i had a lot of aggressive small dogs. The moment i got my first pit after research and prep, i brought my sweet girl home. She was terrified of my bearded dragon and little kitten, but absolutely adored the children of my appartment. I always educate those willing to approach us and let them give her a treat to learn that pits aren't as what media portrays. 💚 Of a lot of the dogs I've trained(im not a professional its my own personal dogs) from pit to Chihuahua i adore the pit the most!
Every Pitti I have ever met, has been the sweetest. While they have a reputation, it's not what they naturally want. Great dogs. Eager to please.
Every pit I’ve owned has been big babies. Super loving and great with my kids.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoy the channel!
I have 2 pit bulls and they're the biggest babies in the world. 1 is a staffordshire terrier and the other I believe is a pit bull terrier. Best dogs ever
