    I have an issue where the governor is leaking out of the exhaust and the purge valve is leaking as well and won’t let it build up will try this to check the drier thanks !

    Can I test this on a AD IS air dryer for a 2015 International Prostar with an ISX 15?

    I’m very green, just had compressor replaced but it cycles like every 10-12 seconds??? My cousin says to replace the whole air dryer? Also the old head was bad and sent coolant into the air system….

    So does the purge valve stay open until air needs to be built? If not how does it close

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The purge valve will not close until air brake system pressure is reduced and the governor signals the compressor to begin compressing air again.

    Do these make really loud hissing noise for a few seconds during cold weather I've heard trucks pulling in the fuel Island and making a hissing noise like the dryer purging air for like 10 secs n then it goes away n does it again

    • @fleetproducts

      There could be an issue with the purge valve if it is constantly purging. Also, if your compressor unloader is sticking, the purge valve can keep cycling.

    Tried this test with a halidex dryer. When I connect the control line is purges but never stops. Tried this on the old dryer and on the new. It never closes back off.

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  ปีที่แล้ว

      The Haldex dryer is built a little different so it might not perform the same as not all dryers have a soft seat purge valve. Once the dryer is full of air, send air down the control line to purge the dryer and at the same time, disconnect the main air supply to the dryer which will simulate what happens on the truck. The dryer should slowly empty.

    How can I do this on a AD-IS?
    On mine the purge valve spits but then keeps exhausting air for about 10 seconds and the compressor reengages and the same cycle just continues endlessly.
    I saw in another video where a guy found a leak at the supply check valve on a AD-9 but I don’t see that valve on the AD-IS.
    Frustrated. Need help please.
    Thanks & God bless

      You actually need an air tank to seal off the 2 large o-rings on the back of the dryer in order to test it properly. You for sure have a leak between the dryer and the compressor somewhere causing it to cycle. There is a check valve behind the governor's bottom port. If you remove it, this could be defective allowing air to leak back. The issue with this dryer is there are 4 pressure protection valves that all open at different times feeding different portions of your air system. If one of these is stuck or leaks, it can cause issues. This dryer is not easy to bypass because of all the different ports that feed so many things on your truck. Please give our tech team a call at 877-243-0442 if you have any further questions.

    Mine "leaks" down to 105psi then builds pressure again. New compressor, new dryer and filter, new governor, New check valve. I'm not sure what I am missing. New compressor already blowing oil after a week because of it. Purges every 30 seconds or so. Builds to 120psi then the front axle tank goes down to 105psi.
    I am lost. Any help is appreciated.

      Sounds like there is a leak in the unloader system somewhere. Spray the lines with soapy water when the compressor switches to the unload cycle. What is happening is when the unloader system in engaged, the air is leaking off somewhere and causing the compressor to cycle. Disconnect the air dryer and tie the two big lines together. Plug the small governor line that runs down to the control port of the dryer at the governor. This will allow your compressor and dryer to run alone. Listen to the compressor and see if it is still doing it. In other words, does the compressor kick in and out on its own as it should? It should unload and stay unloaded for at least 10 minutes without the compressor coming back on. You need to find the leak.

      It kept feeding pressure from tanks and holding the dryer open. Tried 3 governors and 2 dryers. 🤷‍♂️

    I changed the entire air dryer. But still feels air coming out slowly through the purge valve non stop while im parked idling the truck. Is that normal? Changed every line and fitting that had even the smallest leaks. Now no air leaks. What else could be the problem?

    • @fleetproducts
      @fleetproducts  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would check your compressor. The unloader in the head could be sticking. Also make sure that the governor is plumbed correctly. Make sure the exhaust port is not plugged.

    • @CookingwithCHU
      @CookingwithCHU 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @fleetproducts thanks for replying. Air governor is new. Entire air dryer is new. No air leak anywhere else. Just the purge valve has a very very slow air flow while truck is idling. Thought it's supposed to stop after it purges?

    • @fleetproducts

      Check the unloader in your compressor as it might need to be replaced. This is what sends the signal to the governor which in turn tells the dryer to purge..

      The control line runs from your governor to your dryer and gets air from the the air system when the compressor pumps air.

    Governor cut in and cut out is set for 95-120. What causes air dryer to cut in at 118 psi? It's cutting out at 120 psi. The air dryer is 1yr old.

    • @fleetproducts

      I would think that you either have a faulty governor or there could be a leak in your control line.
