Appreciate the questions at the end. It will be interesting to see how many jump in at $999. Also nice having no black box from a weight perspective for those that ice fish. The question I have is would a person rather spend $999 on this or wait for a sale on the Garmin 93sv + LVS32 for $1599? (Wider beam, supports side scan, and you are in the Garmin ecosystem + usually a GT54 with it)
From the pictures it looks like the garmin with the lvs32 is still better. It’s nice to see Lowrance finally lowering their prices, but I don’t miss having to hard reset every Lowrance I had on almost every outing.
Personally I wouldn’t put this on my boat I would do as you said with the garmin . However, for any weekend kayak anglers trying to reduce weight , and save some money I think this is a fantastic option that I personally will be putting on my kayak enless garmin re releases a closer price point option with no black box very soon
I had this conversation with my old parts manager today, I would spend more for the last Gen garmin set up. may stock a few but i don't think it's going to be a great seller
Well I’m a cat fisherman and I think this will be great for cast netting bait that is constantly running from you. I think I’m gonna purchase because that’s all I want it for is catching bait in shallow water and everything I’ve seen of it looks perfect for the application
I literally just got my Active Target Bundle delivered today for my kayak. I am thinking this might have been a better choice. Surely a less expensive choice. I think the extra coverage and scout mode are worth the extra money. But for someone who wants to level the playing field a bit without spending a ton of money, this is great. And a big win I think for lowrance since they are the only ones with anything like this and in this price point. Good job Lowrance.
I ordered mine today looks like it’s just trolling motor mounted as of now find an old trolling motor and take the outer casing diy your own for now would be the best bet man
I have a lvs 12 and it sucks only having either a front view or down view, maybe someone that has never used the higher end live scopes will get use to it’s limited view and like it.
Nice review and interesting product release from Lowrance. It's a shame they are still crippling the charting by not supporting satellite/raster images. The first gen Hook units supported satellite imagery even though the map image was slow to refresh. I have to believe with the modern processors in these new units this feature could be implemented again, Lowrance just chooses not to. My Ti 2 units can do this, however it would be nice to have the feature in a 4 or 5" model for paddlesport/backcountry purposes with less power draw.
i bought a 30ah lifepo4 battery for 80 bucks.. power draw isnt a very big issue anymore.. I do like my garmin charts.. one of the reasons im not quick to switch over to another brand... I have so many of my own maps.. cant replace those or transfer them over.
The new unit ( Eagle 9 t/s ) works / will work better with the AI 3in1 Transducer, depths / clarity and better image resolution .. I used it on the Hook Reveal 7 t/s. The original transducers are not great in depths deeper than 30ft me thinks.
@@graydavis9139 lol you don’t use the boaters batteries dinglenut. Ice fishing backpack unit. Look it up. Pole mounted transducer. I’ll let you brainstorm and do your research on how to mount it and use during the day from back of boat. I know of a cpl CO’s at least already using it successfully. It works though. The Eagle eye 9 would just be a cheaper FFS option, although it has less arrays which is something folks thinking about buying should consider.
True but the problem with that was it was only compatible with their Echomap and Gpsmap series which are not entry level head units. People who have the funds to get those more advanced units might as well get the LVS32 or LVS34 instead. The Eagle Eye 9 is a much cheaper head unit.
It's gonna be over 1k after tax. Basically, you're lying, lol If people are smart they won't waste money on this. Pricing probably will drop by half in a year
Nice overview! Does anyone have info on performance in shallow water? like 6 - 12 feet? The demos shows 30+ feet.
Awesome but is it worth sacrificing side imaging?

Really like it. A shame it doesn’t have sidescan though, if it did it would be a true “all in one” unit! But the pricepoint is awesome.
Thank you Lawren, this is so awesome and very affordable everyone,Great job Lowrance 👏👏
18amh 12v. How long can that battery run only this unit?
This would be a superb kayak model.
I was thinking the same thing

Yeah... less hardware is always helpful. Thinking the hummingbird 360 might be more helpful though.
Just got mine, Great Review! Have you come across any poles that are compatible with this transducer? So far, I have not :(
I ordered mine today looks like it’s just trolling motor mounted as of now find an old trolling motor and take the outer casing diy your own for now would be the best bet man
This will be a game changer for CO anglers
Can you scan behind the boat for trolling. Like watching your flashers and lure and fish coming into your spread?
This has the live ffs built in? No additional active target transducer?
Yes. No module or black box. Transducer plugs directly into the back of the Eagle Eye unit.
FOR THE AVERAGE GUY THIS IS THE DEAL .
can I hook 2 of these together having one on the front of the boat and one on the console or would I need 2 transducers?
Stevoky, to make a statement like that ,Im sure you have used this unit. What didn't you like about the unit?
Bet bass pro will have it on sale for Christmas or spring sales. Will be an even better deal.
FFS for my tiny boat…? Heckz yeah!!!
When is it available to purchase?
I have a lvs 12 and it sucks only having either a front view or down view, maybe someone that has never used the higher end live scopes will get use to it’s limited view and like it.
Assuming this wont work with HDS gen 3?
How does it strap on the trolling motor??

Release date?
wonder how this transducer is mounted to that xi3 at 2:11
Super cool! Very affordable.
I will be buying this
Heads up Co-anglers!
No boater is going to let their co hookup to their batteries. Just sayin

Is there an adapter to mount transducer to trolling motor?
This was the same thing Garmin had with the LVS 12.....it has since been discontinued....

Yes that's exactly what I said in the video
tell us you didn't watch the video without telling us
Maybe watch the video next time
Will be perfect for ice fishing if they make a shuttle for it
Those coverage gaps seem pretty crippling.
Wish they had side scan instead of down scan!!
It's a useless product to grab money from people who can't afford the proper product just save your money
lol who hurt you?
Why is it useless? I have a hds live 9 plus active target 2 and this setup would have saved me a grand.
Maybe just learn to fish

Some places don’t have sales tax
