    Great video. The instructions that I received in the box are absolutely worthless. None of the parts are marked for passenger or driver side. The instructions were printed in China in broken English 😅 so I simply threw them away. Plus the instructions didn't explain what parts are for passenger or driver's side. The instructions never mention anything about what a ram nut is for. RC says to check out their website for vehicle specific instructions, 😂 nope. They do provide a number that one can call, I'd be shocked if they spoke English. If anyone else reads this and you got the same instructions as I did, on the RC website I found instructions explaining what parts are for the passenger and driver's side. This video was a great help and made things much smoother.

    Thanks for the video man! The only thing different with mine than yours in the video is my Ram is a 2017 and the front brackets do not use the provided bracket that goes in the frame like the rest do. My ram had two threaded nuts welded to the frame. So, you just screwed the bolts in the threaded welded nuts. Then the rest you used the provided brackets that go inside the frame.

    I'm about to order this however I will have to cut and drop the brackets in my case as I have a large lift. This video certainly helped to figure out what I need to do ;)

    I know this is fairly old but do you still recommend these running boards and also, are they sturdy when stepping on them? Do they have a lot of bend?

    When you step back from the side of truck can you see the mounting brackets ? Under or over the steps one thing that aggravated me about my Westin’s. Thanks in advance

      Sean Connolly no not at all! The tread sits right up to the rocker and unless your trucks lifter 12” your not gonna see then under.

    Does the rear bracket face a different direction than the front bracket? Just ordered these running boards and all of my brackets face the same direction

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      the rears should be canted toward the front of the truck and I believe the front and center brackets stick straight out.

    These are wider then others. Would these stick out past tires if you had stock rims ! Looks like your rims come out from body some ??

    Curious have you ever had a problem with them rusting? Installed mine last July. Started to rust before winter hit. Rough country has been great and ent me a new set. I am currently just waiting for the new mounting gear.

    Well they've changed things a bit. My parts weren't seperated by different color bags nor is anything labeled. Not much fun for me.

    Just had mine installed yesterday, is it just mine or do they sound really noisy when you hit bumps and stuff? Like they have alot of flex in them since they are kinda flat?

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No they should not, I would check that everything is tight.

      @@GreenMountainProjects so I was looking at mine and my rought country logo is on the back end, so does that mean they might have installed them on the wrongside and why I'm getting so much vibration? Or does it not really matter?

      This video helped me a ton! THANK YOU. The directions that came with the kit are horrible. I would have been there for a month, if I didn’t have this video. I had to figure out the lock washer aspects, but that’s ok. I see them in your video, but missed it the first time. Thanks for taking the time to post it. One thing for me was that I have a quad cab 1500 and there are only two brackets per side. I think crew cab has 3 brackets per side. Just my two cents.

    I purchased these and they looked awesome, fast forward 1 1/2 years and they are completely rusted and they will not do anything for me. Garbage coating.

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting... I have had mine close to the same time and they are completely rust free. I also live in VT so road salt is used daily in the winter. Must have had some type of malfunction In their coating process to allow for it to be penetrated and oxidize like that. I would keep bugging them because parts like that should absolutely last way longer than that. They are usually are very good with customer service so I would keep trying.

  • @mlac3737
    @mlac3737 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wouldn't buy these. I had a set on my 2020. They started rusting in under 1 year and Rough Country refused to warranty them. Poor quality product.

    • @GreenMountainProjects
      @GreenMountainProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats unfortunate. If you live in New England like I do or any other northern climate state then its bound to happen regardless unless you protect them with an oil based undercoat. Road salt can eat through almost any finish coating especially where the tire spray is hitting them constantly.
