I want to buy 2 sets so that I can make a much bigger set and do something I don't usually do and completely ignore the instructions. I might post this video on my channel when I can buy this if anybody would be interested to see a big battle scene. I also want to do this with the duel on starkiller base btw

I feel like the 2020 one is a pretty cheap opportunity to get Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi, which is why I prefer the 2020 one. Although the build for the 2005 is better than 2020.

the only thing I think are bad with the figures are the light up lightsabers, in my opinion its a horrible innovation at the time they were made at least they didn't use it for today.
I prefer the minifigures from the recent set due to the sheer amount of detail, but prefer the older set in terms of the building. More room for playability.

Metawarp meant the characters. Something about the simple faces just gives it a more imaginative LEGO feel, yah know? Like it wouldn’t look out of place even in a non Star Wars setting, which I think is a good thing. Like you could put them in a lego city set and not look too out of place.

I also think it's a good figure, but what I do not like is that in the 2005 set both Anakin and Obi-Wan are smiling, and I cannot remember neither of them smiling in the Duel on Mustafar scene.

I like the extended fire detail....and even though more of a compact set, I love that I can save space in my LEGO display and get a great detailed scene.
the mini beam, pole thing was supposed to be a tiny recreation of the floating structure they fought on, if you push the two wing looking things down you can keep it standing up. (I'm saying this before I've even gotten the set lol)

I'm so sad. There was another duel on mustafar set, released after LEGO changed the faces, but before Disney got the Star Wars license. I got it as a child, broke it, and can't find it anywere online.
It is easy to replace the batteries all you have to do is take off the arm w/o Lightsaber take a small needle and pit between the two batteries and pop it outward carefully and the backplate will pop out

That was a rollercoaster. It felt like you were saying soooo many good things about the new one and only bad things about the old one. Then you come out with a plot twist that you prefer the old one.
if you look near the walkway on the 2020 set it reveals a 2x2 area on top of the tall black stone- that is the high ground, while the rocks below are where Anakin is charred to a crisp.
9:11 in the original version of anakin vs obi wan the last half takes place on a single platform rather than two seperate platforms and “the high ground”. In the original version obi wan cuts off anakins legs on that platform and he falls in the lava below and that’s how it ends. Of course they ended up filming it significantly different. You can find the animatics for the alternate duel on Disney plus. This is kind of like how lego made a first order heavy spider walker thing even though it was cut from the movie.
I remember in December they had ads for that 2005 set, sometimes back-to-back, during every commercial break on Nickelodeon. I thought it looked awful.

The hilts weren't removeabale. They were just like that for the light ups. The lightsaber hilt hasn't changed since 1999
