I have my own computer shop. Selling and fixing all kinds of stuff. I have a master degree of electronical and electrical engineering. I study this about 10 years. But nothing can prepare you for the real life. Most of the thing are learning on the way. I learn something new every time you upload a video, for which I deeply thank you. The main thing for own business is not the skills, but the attitude for the costumers. You have to be fair with them, that is the main rule, if you ask me. :)
i don't have any qualification in electronics but my brother does and i learn from him but now he brings everything for me to fix for 17 years now i have been fixing things i learn alot i fix the things people with degree can't fix but i guess its because of my experience. most important is the tools to do the job and the know how

I started my own shop recently. Yesterday I had a customer bring me two Alcatel phones, one with severe water damage, the other with a completely mangled screen, hoping to piece together a working phone from the parts. As I was pulling off the network antenna, the connection on the board came off! Thanks to what I have learned from you, I was able to resolder the broken connection and save the phone from the scrap heap. If I make it on my own, you will deserve much of the credit. Thank you. You are truly a wonderful person, and an inspiration to folks like me.
Alcatel phones are the worst, I work in mobile tech retail and everytime someone asks me about Alcatel I just tell the customer to avoid like the plague and pay that little bit more for a more reputable brand.
so after knowing Sorin for even a small time, I can say, "Sorin is smart, he knows his craft, very well, but most of all Sorin is a survivor and he cares, he cares!
Really enjoying your videos Sorin. I like the authenticity. No bullshit, not trying to flog products at people. Simply doing it for the love of it.Thanks for being you
I used to fix everything electronic, 30 years ago! That was before Surface Mount Devices took off, myself and a long lost freind repaired items for 3 different outlets in the Scottish Highland city of Inverness. Your channel has filled in a few very important blanks regarding SMDs. A hot air gun and some Rosin Colophony solder are on their way here so that I can do your liquid flux trick. Great info. There is a woking laptop with both hinges broken in the lid abandoned on the shelf behind me which I will now tackle. Adventures with hot glue hahaha. I had to give up on a PS4 with a broken HDMI connecter and a few other pieces of equipment with similar Mosfet devices which are surely the problem
Thanks for that story. I had a renovation business and I had a stroke while working on a project. I'm lucky to be alive and you're right nothing is more important than family. Your videos bring me satisfaction. I really wish people would understand the long videos are the best. You're an inspiration!
I started to watch your lessons with the intention of repairing portable computers and personal computers, I have basic knowledge about electronics but I'm struggling to learn something new every day. I enjoy every new clip you post, thank you!
The important thing is to do the job and in failures be honest, preferably before something is destroyed, or find another who can do it instead of oneself, so the business location seems able to do it and the customers come back and it spreads to more people. Any business is mostly social as skill/knowledge doesn't have to stay with only one. With TH-cam/internet a person became "more people" than oneself and it helps.
you are right at 11:30 no experience needed. I literally started my repair business from my basement with NO experience. Everything I needed to know I sought out to learn. The desire to succeed will trump your lack of knowledge. Thanks Sorin.
Mr. Sorin thank you for your videos I could never afford to pay for computer repair classes. You are a very knowledgeable man with a lot of wisdom. Again thank you for teaching me, you are a very thoughtful and kind man. keep up the good work. and blessings to you and your family.
Best video so far. True stories are very important. The financial crysis in Brazil in 2014 broke me like what happened with you. But we learn from our mistakes. Money its not the most important thing. Once you need to manage people, their expectations, business administration and loads of things that have nothing to do with your skills.
Hello! like you I am from Romania and I live in Romania and I have been following you for some time. I am also a young electronician who always has to learn from a man with as much experience as yours. You make me proud that I am from Romania. As a parenthesis at first I thought you were Russian, watching how to repair a dell laptop, the same model having a friend's defect, and after 3 months to hear in a video that you change 2 talks with someone in the store on Romanian, my heart of joy has grown. Hello there, This is one of the best videos ever posted by Mr Sorin, not only he is a great repair technician but also a real life mentor, i started by business two months ago, not doing so good at the moment by i feel great, i gain more confidence in repairing new things everyday, and that alone opens my eyes to new ideas- horizons -, and like you said, running a business is a journey, maybe it's not only about the end result (money in this case), fixing stuff people are attached to makes you feel you are contributing something good for the benefit of your community. So this video came at the right time for me, Thank you sorin for your help and honesty, we have a saying here where i live " whoever helps his brother in his time of need, God will be there in his time of need" Wish you all the best Thank you
I could never have run my own business ,I love electronics fault finding repairing, I started off self taught, when I couldn't get any further I contacted a TV repair shop, which I went to mainly on Saturdays, and weekday's evenings when I was home, the owner taught me loads, I ended up fixing TV's radio's, vcr's, cb' and of course my own ham radio gear, these days I only fix stuff for family ,close friends and ,my 11 neighbours The only charge I make is for components I have to buy. I like your channel very much ,and the way you work, I earned all my money driving HGV1 trucks "Artics",it's funny how we all get into this fascinating subject.Electronics I love it as much today as I did when I started. O seara frumoasa, week end placut. Ne vedem la urmatorul clip. Cu respect!
I'm Filipino I never tired watching your videos again and again or replay it, just to learn even i was undergrad of computer course and have a basic electronics. I owned computer rental for almost 15 year still now but still i always felt nothing progress happening still i have a lot of loans etc. i almost cried now, and hoping learn how to fix laptop just like you.. thank u for sharing those ideas for someone like us wanted to learn to have a good life.
Sorin. as usual a very good video. I loved your story about your past in Roumania. My son just sent me a link to a story in today's Guardian newspaper that Britain has more billionaires per capita than any other country. Of course not all of them are Brits. I have read on your videos in the past that you were concerned about Brexit . You should not worry regardless, as you have a great attitude and an abundance of skill, just what we need here, there and everywhere. Brexit is every difficult and one hell of a mess right now. I found your comments very interesting on how you found things in the U,K. It is a very unique place in some regards, I say this as somebody like you who moved abroad for another life. I was trained in the U.K. and went to the States and did very well. My children were born there and have returned here and both of them finding training and success. Thanks Sorin and all the best for the up coming holidays.
I agree I bought a General Store after working in it for five years after 20. I give it away because of illness did not take a penny when I left. Now am healthy again I will start doing repair service because there is no repair service here in the remote community. BTW good Video.
I agree with the amount of electrical knowledge needed. I ran a successful repair business starting with no electronic knowledge. Most of the work was software related or components were replaced. Work not able to be done onsite was contracted out. What you do need it good accounting software, and financial control of your business and good customer skills.
Sorin, your story is really moving, I almost could not hold back my tears. What you are doing was also one of my dreams. Unfortunately I had to go into a teaching profession and later decided to be with our three young daughters as much as I could. I am also a family man. That was quite a long time ago and I have since retired. Now I'm learning what I did (could) not do when I was younger. As one of your first viewers I have watched all your videos. None of your repairs is boring, they are all very informative and even entertaining. Thanks a lot for your effort to share your expertise and especially your unconventional way to make things work. In the coming days I'm going to replace that bulged cap of my cheap DVD-player, because I have only a green blinking LED and nothing else is working. Hopefully I can get a replacement and hopefully I have made the right guess.
Thank you for sharing these experiences with us..... its amazing how logical a technician needs to be. My advice to my new technicians is to always think logical and test. The fault is usually easier than you taught in the very first stage
Thanks for sharing your past life story and your openness about starting a business I really enjoyed it , I have learnt so much from you thanks a million all the best for the future.
Sorin, thoruughly enjoyed this vieo i laughed and smiled along with you when your spoke of your memories ,your first business adventures and how things have changed since.. they are so much like my own..I am 58, i finally discovered that there is a huge difference between I want that as we did in our youth and now we know ..i really dont need that to..other things are way more important..life shows us that when we pass that its not what we have collected thats important but how many smile at the menction of our names and tell stories of the person we were..
Ion.
I started studying electronics and trying to repair some laptops that had already been lying in containers. And of 4 motherboards of 4 pportateis still only one managed to repair. For a long time I will need to get there. Excellent history of life.
Excellent inspirational story Sorin, you are very good guy.. i travel through Romania some years ago, i went through Cluj and Brasov and all the mountain area.. beuatiful country..
Very encouraging words Mr. Sorin. I have some very basic knowledge in electronics, but i like building my own computers and would like to go deeper into troubleshooting motherboards etc. A big thanks to you for sharing your valuable wisdom and experience with us!
Sorrin to me your my kind of tutor I'm getting on in years but the thrill of troubleshooting wont leave me. Although sometime u would know what the problem is u stop.. take a step back and can think like a newbee. KEEP IT GOIN!
Appreciate video content! Excuse me for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you heard about - Fiyiden Seyatthew Blaster (just google it)? It is an awesome one off guide for starting a laptop repair business without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin after many years got astronomical success with it.
Thank you for the insight on how you became so proficient at your job it is always a pleasure to watch you work you are so very good at what you do I am sorry about your business collapsing you did not deserve that
Sorin you're absolutely right when it comes to economic impacts. Nobody wants to fix anything when money is tight... not consumers... not industry... especially not those with the money. I started my business on "9/11" 2001, literally. The economics in the US were already in a slump... but, the downturn after "9/11" hastened the demise of many US industries. Even "healthy" factories put off repairs when demand is low! I had the "great advantage" when I started my business... my customers having used my services for over 10 years. But when factories are closing and moving, the rest layoff employees, capacity, and unfortunately repairs. It's a little harder to enter into industrial electrical/electronic repair. In addition to the skills you'll need certificates, licenses, and often $1,000,000 dollars or more of insurance. And yes, sometimes even your test equipment must be traceable certified . Meaning... you need two of everything.. so you have one to use, while the other is sent off for calibration. The additional cost are hard to bear when business is slow. Needless to say, after 2 years I had to move to a larger city... and find an employer. Sorin, even with my 40 years experience... I still learn from your tips!
I am not sure if you are lucky enough in England, you don´t look like happy, but you are genius, that doesn´t mean you can be rich, look at Bill Gate he is not the best programmer but one of the richest man in the world.Ty Sorin i learn always from you,you have really tousand youtubers who watch you and thankfull
Very good vid, thanks! In my territory something similar to yours happened and I saw how many Compu.Repair shops closed, went out of business due to a bad economy. Market crashed. Now is picking up again. Sorin you doing right I think. You following a good conscience.
I quite enjoy repairing my own laptops and upgrading computers. So, I'm learning trouble shooting at the common rail...19v, 3.5 and charging..very useful. But...further, your mention of being fair to customers, demanding but fair to employees is well worth thinking about. Reasonable rates, delivery of service.....and listening to what the customer requires...is the first set of model for repair to any car, truck, electronic device. And the skill set to deliver in the best time on job. So, please count me as among your students. M.
I'm really appreciated sharing your knowledge with us. I'm always learning new things. One suggestion, when you doing soldiering place make sure it in frame. Keep up your good work! Thank you!
Hi. Thank you for your videos- How many memories these circuits bring me, AGAR and CCONT, in 1994 I repaired NOKIA with failures in those circuits. Greetings to all.
Probably your best video yet IMO. Your latest ones getting the components for the DIY linear bench power supply are really good - they're getting even better!
A fantastic video, Sorin. Really nice to hear your personal story with your own businesses back home in Romania. You were definitely young, ambitious, and successful. You were certainly a driven man back then. Wow! Nice to hear about your team and how everyone came together. Very cool! I enjoy these longer videos where you tell us stories of the old times. And watching you reflect on the history of the Nokia was really fun. Your face lit up like a kid. Was great to watch and listen! Do you want to return to Romania one day or who knows?
Thank you for sharing your own story. These kind of stories are collectively called experience which the next smart person can use to avoid stumbling into the same hole in life. Running a business is tough especially for technicians and engineers who are not trained on the business side of the equation . When do you layoff your best friends or best workers who have been helping you for all these years in order to keep the business alive? There are tax rules, regulations, consumer rights...all these will keep you busy. My 2-bit advice is, as a small business owner, it is how much money you keep instead of how much you made which is more important. Knowing when to expand or shrink your business is the key.
Great insights there into what's possible (with or without knowledge) and a trip down memory lane - you had a very smart looking team :) Having the flexibility to do what you do as an employee looks ideal rather than have the added pressure of running the business too...
i have shop but i i don't have tools like your's. also still learning from all of your videos shared. I study 3 years computer course but not in electronics.
Thanks for this lesson. Right now, I think I'm in the exact same position like you where before your first own business. I will start after 2 or 3 years working and saving money and just try it out. Until then I will learn as much as I can from videos like yours and get prepared.
Re: the Play Station 4 power switch repair, I don't have a large stock of old boards from which to salvage parts so I probably would have glued on an extension to the arm or lever that contacts the switch rather than replace the switch itself. I just repaired an electric shaver power button the same way, using a piece of paperclip and some epoxy.

Inca invat, unele joburi imi ies bine, la altele inca revin, consider ca doar asa pot invata. O seara frumoasa, week end placut. Ne vedem la urmatorul clip. Cu respect!
Thumbs up from New York City , your videos takes my mind away from real world , I think your are a great person and You are very rich .
Been watching Louis Rossmann?
I'm Filipino I never tired watching your videos again and again or replay it, just to learn even i was undergrad of computer course and have a basic electronics. I owned computer rental for almost 15 year still now but still i always felt nothing progress happening still i have a lot of loans etc. i almost cried now, and hoping learn how to fix laptop just like you.. thank u for sharing those ideas for someone like us wanted to learn to have a good life.
Wise words from a VERY WISE MAN. Thank you for your honesty.
yes hi's a great and honest electronic teatcher.that's why he was become so loved man and respect one
A great outlook on life mr sorin and you are so right money is not everything you can not buy true happiness.
Sorin. you are so rare, humble, kind and a beautiful human being. Thanks for your videos. And it´s a privilege to call you a friend on discordserver.
Hello my friend;
I never wrote a comment but you push me to do it. You are my hero.
Sorin. as usual a very good video.
The more I know about you, the more I love you. Thank you for being so willing to teach!
Fast-Forward 4 years and you have your own business again! Except you now get the best of both worlds as you work from home 😎
This video is the one that convinced me to open my own repair business
I loved that Nokia phone! You're right so many memories.
I think you should be a Hollywood actor. Very good personality.
Zorba, the Greek.. ;)
Thanks for sharing your past life story and your openness about starting a business I really enjoyed it , I have learnt so much from you thanks a million all the best for the future.
I like you amn.. you inspire a lot of people here... money isn't everything and that's true....
You got a good lesson to all of us who love doing our own things like this business.
thanks for ur note, it was in the past. now i am so happy to watch and learn from good electronic teacher
Moment of truth ...very motivational speech ..thank you
I have learned so much from your videos, thank you. Never stop sorin!
You are a good person my friend thats live. We get al good and bad days in the past.
I love your videos, Sorin. I learn much from your philosophy, experience and knowledge. Thank you for making and sharing these.
I love learning about your life Sorin, it's a great change from just the normal repair videos :)
very touching experience Mr. very great story
This has to one of your very best videos. thank you,,,
Appreciate video content!
Thank you for the insight on how you became so proficient at your job it is always a pleasure to watch you work you are so very good at what you do I am sorry about your business collapsing you did not deserve that
You really are the best. A good approach to life and you teach us along the wAy - thank you!
You are absolutely correct on getting into the industrial electronic repairs. Do you still run your own business?
I like how you share your knowledge and experience.you are my favorite Teacher.be blessed Sorin
But...further,
your mention of being fair to customers, demanding but fair to employees is well worth thinking about.
Thank you!
Turned back home from after 700 miles of driving. Sorin published a video, let's take a look and hooked me...
Learned many lessons of life with you Sorin 😊
Nice to learn about your earlier days Sorin, very interesting, brings some nice memories back to you, very good video as always
Hi. Thank you for your videos- How many memories these circuits bring me, AGAR and CCONT, in 1994 I repaired NOKIA with failures in those circuits. Greetings to all.
You deserve all the appreciation and respect really good person and I wish to you all the best
Much respect for you Sorin. Thanks for sharing your life experience.. I learn a lot from you.
Probably your best video yet IMO. Your latest ones getting the components for the DIY linear bench power supply are really good - they're getting even better!
It's nice to have advice from you guy
A fantastic video, Sorin. Really nice to hear your personal story with your own businesses back home in Romania. You were definitely young, ambitious, and successful. You were certainly a driven man back then. Wow! Nice to hear about your team and how everyone came together. Very cool! I enjoy these longer videos where you tell us stories of the old times. And watching you reflect on the history of the Nokia was really fun. Your face lit up like a kid. Was great to watch and listen! Do you want to return to Romania one day or who knows?
Great memories Sorin. Thanks for sharing.
Hello to you and everyone. Coming Friday feel always good. 😊😊😊 KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!
Very cool, I am from Romania and I have watched your videos and I like them very much. Thank you.
Great insights there into what's possible (with or without knowledge) and a trip down memory lane - you had a very smart looking team :) Having the flexibility to do what you do as an employee looks ideal rather than have the added pressure of running the business too...
This one is my favorite video from Sorin! Thank you very much maestro!!! :)
Great video sorin, it’s nice to learn about the man behind the magic 👍🏻
i have shop but i i don't have tools like your's. also still learning from all of your videos shared. I study 3 years computer course but not in electronics.
Thanks for this lesson. Right now, I think I'm in the exact same position like you where before your first own business. I will start after 2 or 3 years working and saving money and just try it out. Until then I will learn as much as I can from videos like yours and get prepared.
Wow thanks for the story, and teaching me all your skills ❤️❤️
Beautiful video and advice, thank you from Australia
Re: the Play Station 4 power switch repair, I don't have a large stock of old boards from which to salvage parts so I probably would have glued on an extension to the arm or lever that contacts the switch rather than replace the switch itself. I just repaired an electric shaver power button the same way, using a piece of paperclip and some epoxy.
im always learning all your videos sir. thank you.
Thank you Sir for sharing your experiences with the world.
All the best regards!
Verry happy to khnow u,I followed jour vidéo on TH-cam and it's very interisting for m'y job
