Hello Pal', and thanks for your guide(S!). Quick question/suggestion, as it seems rarely mentionned in any "guides", even if it's most of the time a no-brainer. Having a quick TLDR of map mods that can be annoying/build disabling could be nice to have over a build presentation/demo. Some people when they look at a build to pick as a starter likes to go for something not too frustrating to play due to certain map mods, as an exemple "gosh, i'll go for a chaos build this time, fuck the corrupted red maps bricked due to elem reflect" or stuff like that. Here, the only one that can maybe matters are : - Players have 60% less Recovery Rate of Life and Energy Shield - Players gain 50% reduced Flask Charges - Players cannot Regenerate Life, Mana or Energy Shield And keeping in mind that we are not really "ailment immune" so Shocked ground and stuff like that in fact "matters" i suppose? TR guy through and through here. Late to the party due to being an old man. But. Love the build. Was reluctant to get away from self cast altogether, but after seeing how much the build improves, I can't see going back at this point. The double-dipping on speed is insane. i started playing poe this league, and i found a TR selfcast starter build and when i got to bosses and t16 maps it really didn't perform well, so i asked a streamer for help and he just sent me to your guide, i respeced the build and it feels so good, been farming uber elder and shaper for past 3 days, gearing up to fight uber shaper, i definitely will be starting with this variation next league, hope it won't get nerfed or something, also progenesis is 26 div currently, this is crazy, but i looked at my pob and it will give me 20k EHP straight up, so definitely worth it, great vids, thanks.
I always like buying upgrades for my starter that will also work on future builds, so i love upgrading with Empower/Enlighten. Great guides! Thanks for the videos.
Nice! Pretty sure there is another sweet spot for TR overlaps, that is using Anomalous Concentrated Effect with 15% quality and no other AoE increase. That is about 5.4 overlap rate if I'm not mistaken, so you could go for an extra projectile and boost single target DpS
To save you fingers. PF ascendency works like mageblood. Flasks will click automaticly when charges are full and you will have full charges all the time because of ascendency+tree. .
How significant are all the extra totem nodes south of Duelist area, are the totems actually more durable or is it just a meme? Or could you get away with anointing Panopticon and spend the points elsewhere.
I'm still full of doubts on which type of TR build im gonna follow. I usually like to go for builds that i can league start with and juice them up till i can clear all ubers, wave 30 sim etc, 80%deli, etc... I've seen: TR + ballista, TR+CA and now only ballista. I feel like only ballista will feel clunky if the totems get oneshot all the time vs uber endgame. Havoc recent video on how to clear the campaign looks really good, I still need to watch everything from Ziz PoB and check if Steelmage did all ubers with TR or just the normal version. It would be awesome if any version of TR can handle all ubers even if the budget goes up to 150-250divs or a bit more even. It looks really comfy with all the flask QoL and delayed damage taken but still doubtful about the final damage output vs endgame content
Do you have any thoughts of running Cloak of defiance with replica sorrow of the divine? I am considering completely duping armor and going for ES/Evasion bases. This way I should be able to get a decent chunk of ES. If sorrow of the divine is not suddenly ultra expensive this will also solve all early and late mana issues. Morover, I can take the new life mastery as Cloak of Defiance has no life mods (unless mind over matter somehow counts, lol). This will obviously reduce physical mitigation greatly but I believe it should be overall tankier with just taste of hate in most circumstances as I look for other ways to mitigate physical and farm up for progenesis. Obviously, on softcore trade.
Vilma's also gives energy shield which is otherwise basically a dead stat on this build. I would consider also taking the 3 evasion/es nodes near the start as it should be efficient at overall low %increased with the goal of hitting ES around equal to the flask regen per second.
Thanks for the great work on this build. I'm really enjoying playing it. I did notice that the end game POB shows 25 skill gems with only 24 slots. Am I missing something? If not, where do you recommend making room for it?
Hey im following this for affliciton league... you say in endgame we no longer use lifetap.. do we also not use petrified blood then if vitality lets us regen? im a little confused there, and if so what are we replacing life tap with if anything?

Where are you getting the "custom 200" resists that you list in POB under the calc section as I can't seem to figure out how you have so much resists yet only 2 rings, sentinal, taste of hate, lightning coil, wasting, searching eye jewel and progenesis. Maybe I am missing something here @Palsteron
Sorry just saw the section in POB under the configuration tab which basically says each person would have to make up the 200% resists in the various gear items
Hello, this is the build I have decided to follow and stick with for the season. I'm currently 95 and have follow the Maxroll guide to a T , even saved up and got my Progenisis. I see here that I have more gear options, what do you think would be the ideal item to go for first? Would the bow be a good idea? I'm still using Quill Rain, or one of the other options? Please help. Blood Rage is not allocated? Because on your POB it is marked as enabled. Other than that, you have set 30% reduced mana cost as a custom modifier, even tho you get it at the skill tree. After removing it the Toxic Rain Ballistas costs 9 to 11 mana. How to zero that out? I'm a bit lost. Please help :)
what does fall off means ? I can't get it to do ubers fast ? should I stick to my EA balista totem elementalist ? does that scale better ? I played it for like 6-8-10 leagues now and was the only build I did for the whole league.
When you say if you want to stick to quill rain, get +2 on the armor. As a newer player, what does that mean? I have about 5 divines so far. I cant figure out how to search that on trade.
Maybe stupid question , but why Lightning coil , is it just purely for the 50% phys taken as lightning? could I maybe use skin of the lords to supplement the levels till I get +3 bow??
I started your build and ive made it maps. Now im getting crushed, my resists arent maxed and I havent had enough currency to even be able to link the gems. I managed to get a 4 link for toxic rain but havent been able to switch to just ballista. Any ideas or help would be great, Ive never had enough currency to be able to explore crafting to learn it, Ive looked up many videos and theres no way to remember all that and i just brick items. Pretty sad, I love the game but i can never make a build work and I grind maps as much as I can to give up in the end. T10 maps is the furthest ive been before I believe and normally cap at 92 before the deaths keep me from leveling. Anyway have a good one I gotta grind more maps in hopes I can get gear but the one shot is often.
This is the cheapest build ever. You can easily get to red maps with 20c gear (I finished my atlas with 40c gear excluding flasks). There is currently 6links for 3c, the wilma's requital helm is for 1c, quill rain for 1c, and the rest of your gear you can pay 1c for pretty decent stats. You can get elemental resists from rings, just use the pseudo filter "+#% total Elemental Resistance" in trade and you can get atleast +115% total resists for 1c.

Can the lightning damage you take from Lightning Coil apply shock to you? Is that why you use the "Grants Immunity to Shock for 16 seconds if used while Shocked" mod on the life flask?
Yes it can, and that is likely the reason he did. That being said you can also opt for mods on rings that give reduced effect of shock (and chill) on you. That and the Garukhan Pantheon can give you a substitute for the shock flask for example. Theres plenty of alternatives.
Something worth noting, the new arcane surge at lvl 10 would be up permanently, and grant us some cast speed for free. Worth putting in the build somewhere maybe for the attack speed conversion.
Would it be worth going Ashes of the Stars to try and cram Purity of Elements into the build. Then go for phys as an element watchers eye to mitigate phys damage even further?
Just a couple of notes for people and **cough** Palsteron *cough*. PoB has 25 active gems when you can only have 24. If you go with Enlighten, you'll need to take out another gem somewhere else. Best option is Frenzy and GMP. You'll find you never actually manually cast Frenzy to get stacks so you don't need it in a setup. Custom config has -30% Mana cost when it's also selected on the tree. Remove the one written in the custom area of config so it doesn't double dip.
Run Vitality along with the rest of your auras (Malevolence, Haste, and Petrified Blood). Should not need to disable one of those auras to fit in a level 1 Vitality.
Crucible is going to make quill rain more expensive than the plus three bow because for the thicket bow, you can just combine cheap thicket bows, but for quill rain, you will need to not only combine quill rains, you will need to have good crucible trees. This will make quill rain more expensive too, since people will be melding instead of selling drastically lowering the supply, while the demand stays high.
We don't know that to be fair. The map that enables you to make a skill tree on uniques might be super rare, and that will lead to market flooding with Quills like usual. Can only wait and see
I think you are misunderstanding that bug fix. I think it specifically addresses the interaction between Wilma's and Anomalous Kinetic Blast, both of them having similar effects and stacking with each other if used in the same build.

Do you plan to use Death Rush for mapping? cause the double dip with wilma should be pretty op for that builld, right?

Hey, did you see mana forged arrows? Might be a way for us to automate frenzy or entangling shot when we fire the other?

If you specifically want to kill ubers ea ballista is a better choice, yes.

Quill rain is the starter/mapping weapon, crafted thicket bow is a massive DPS boost for bossing/tanky rares

@@Canal2Playerz He told me on stream that you only use vitality if you get the watchers eye, so practically you drop vitality if you are running it.

i dont thinks quill rain is rare enough to make a big diference... maybe it will hit the 10-20c mark, but i dont think it will be much higher...

Also a question how does the change or fix to wilmas affect the build, they fixxed that the highest atk spd or cast only apply?

I think you are misunderstanding that bug fix. I think it specifically addresses the interaction between Wilma's and Anomalous Kinetic Blast, both of them having similar effects and stacking with each other if used in the same build.

I will play a version of this build with caustic arrow + toxic rain totem. I will not use Wilma's because caustic arrow has no use for it.
