I've used this tool for the last two years and it's been a total tank. I glued a magnet in the bit holder and it holds all the bits nicely but the Leatherman ratchet falls out. It's plenty heavy to carry in the pocket though.
Just bought one. Maybe the best multitool for that price. Feels very tough and pretty well put together. Makes much much more expensive tools look weak.
I bought this one in 2019 and put it through some paces. I paid $32. It was very smooth and nice. I bought another one a couple of weeks ago, for $17 after discounts, it was rough, stiff, and returned.
This video helped me to decide on this tool, and I'm glad it did! This tool is a bargain for what you get. It's a very good tool, esp the hex driver. The only thing I would add though is this, get a 60mm hex shank bit holder to compliment the tool. It fits perfectly in the side of the pouch and perfectly in your hex driver. Thus then allows easy use of small hex bits.
You can also put a Leatherman bit in the bit holder. It's possible to leave it in the bit holder when closed. The retention of the knife is not great when closed. Not a big issue. Some play also when opened. Good for in the car
It is just a privilege to sit & watch a master at work with just standard affordable tools. Your fans are increasing here & Australia. Keep up the standard mate. Cheers for sharing. Stay safe.
I can't stop thinking about what you said about these pliers being more free/movable out of the box than Leatherman. I've had my Bond for a week and they're way stiffer still than the Bibury.
Yeah but after 3 weeks my wave is super lose. Theyre overly tight, so when they break in, they wont have super lose tolerances. My buddies at ace hardware use surges and they literally move as free as the free series after years of use.
I have a bit extender that is about 27mm long (1.066 in). It doesn't quite hit the magnet so it's a bit lose. I glued a 2mm magnet on the end of the bit extender so it holds pretty good now
I took your advice and bought this 21-in-1 to use as a spare. It certainly weighs as much as the 'Surge' I bought back in 2005, but the quality is far better than I expected! I paid £19.54 (on offer), and its build quality is far better than expected, so I thank you for reviewing it, also all the other multitools. It would be worth your while visiting Felix Immler here because his SAK mods are pretty amazing as are his 'tips & tricks'. All the best and many thanks - Wendi 🌻 ETA: The can opener tool is *very sharp* so be wary when opening, because the tool's edge has been well sharpened at manufacture! Also, I suggest giving this multitool a light oiling as it will preserve the steel from any rust, and enable the tools to open far more easily. With regular use, the multitool will ease up anyway.
I bought a few budget multitools a while back, including this one. My impression of it is that it's the last multitool I'd want to get hit in the head with. It would be ok to throw in a drawer or something, but I wouldn't want to carry it. If I had to sacrifice one of my multitools to some damaging, degrading task, this would be the one I'd pick. At the time I figured for the price why not, but after I was like why did I buy this?
I actually seen someone using this on a motorcycle. They had a bit for sockets and they had the socket for they're battery. I gave them a ride to a battery place and they were able to replace they're battery with this muli tool. I looked up some videos and that's how I made it here. I am seriously thinking about getting it.
I've just brought the Mossy Oak multi tool was going for £15.00 won a £10 pound voucher, even it cost even for £15.00 still worth it. There is one called the goat designed you can take the blades off so when you flying with it. The airport wont take off you when bording a flight.
I enjoy that there've been new releases on the MT side of EDC lately but I still haven't seen anything that would take the knifeless rebar out of my pocket..
I bought this a while ago mostly to backpacking and bikepacking. While it does have thr functions Inwanted and I liked thr sturdiness, it is just too heavy. I think i will get something smaller like a sidekick.
I ordered mine and it didn't have the bits and when I used my own, the magnet came out. I was going to order magnets but without the bits, I figured I would return it for a replacement and I still might order some magnets cause the magnet is fairly weak and I need a magnet for my bit screwdriver. I love the multi tool though and it's possible my magnet was defective cause it seemed to be falling apart. I found the size of magnets in a different video.
3 weeks ago I got the Bibury Multi Tool Pro aka the Leatherman Surge clone. On UK Amazon it was and still is £69. Because we have Prime I got it half price for £34.98. Now bear in mind, the Leatherman equivalent costs up to £170 here in some places, that's over £130 more for what is essentially the same thing. I really wanted the Leatherman, but like Harley Davidson, it costs way too much for the average person aka me! I have used it more or less every day since it arrived and has done everything I have asked of it. All I can say is, keep up the good work Bibury, you get a 5* review from me.........
Isn't this called Dr. Friedels now and comes with a gator socket and card tool? What is your opinion on this new tool and add on accessories for 60 dollars?
I've been using this one for over a year while doing heavy duty and it works perfectly. Still looks as good as new. I have the variant of Mossy Oak, is exactly the same multitool. Even used as a hammer because it is so heavy and of sturdy quality 😂
Just to add, but I had to send it back because I could have lacerated my thumb when opening the Can Opener - it's razor sharp! Unecessarily so. Amazon refunded me. It was a shame as the multitool was excellent, except for that truly wicked edge. Thanks for the like on my previous.
I got the bibury tool and it's a solid tool, but it is a heavy sucker. I tried carrying it and will keep it in my car or on the bike, but not on the belt or pocket. I got the flissa clone and it's way more comfortable to carry.
this looks a lot like the mossy oak multitool. i hate that you cant leave a bit in and close it and that it doesnt include a Philips built in somewhere
Just found this video and your channel so forgive this comment if repeats an idea you made in a follow up. In regards to the multitool"s bit driver not accepting standard bits without out them getting buried in the driver. You can buy mini neodymium magnet dots on amazon. Would it be possible to stack a few of them inside the driver. That would solve the problem, still allow extentions to be used, and give greater magnetic retention to the bit and screws. Just a thought. Thanks for going over budget gear.
That's one of the reasons I haven't bought one yet, because I reckon then I would no longer carry my Farmer, Hiker or Climber. I know it's great as I have the normal Farmer, and the same scissors are on the Climber. But realistically once I am able to get one for a more reasonable price (at the moment they're £50 which is around $70) I'll probably pull the trigger.
@@robertoservadei4766 Even in other European countries like Germany and Netherlands they're around this price point too so it seems to be their global strategy to produce few and at a high price. I can get the standard Farmer for £23 so just to have scissors added more than doubles the price! Similar to the Compact, which has less tools (except for pen) but costs more than the Climber.
I would like to have seen a PZ #2 bit in it as that's what we predominantly use nowadays in the UK and not PH #2 but as you stated you have room in the pouch for extra bits of your choice,I have just purchased this multi tool so hopefully it will be as good 1 year on as you said when you posted the video, thank you
I bought a 15 and one and a 21 and one Multitool with your with your links. Thank you for your reviews. Thanks to you, #wealljoggleknives And #Texas toolcrib. I’ve been able to buy good deals With confidence. I got the 15 and one $20. And I got the 21 and one for $17.

Another mod you can do is add a stack of small magnets in the bit driver to bring the base up further. Then you can use any size bits.
I can't stop thinking about what you said about these pliers being more free/movable out of the box than Leatherman. I've had my Bond for a week and they're way stiffer still than the Bibury.

I bought the $40 Mossy Oak branded version, unfortunately, but even at that price point, I still love it and am impressed with the quality.

I just got the BiBury 21 and the Daicamping DL30.
For some reason multitool are not shipping to Canadá at the moment. Hopefully they do soon I need some of these!
I need a link to amazon Canada! So I can search up some tools for u guys

Can the bit driver be cut with a bandsaw to allow standard hex bits to engage the magnet?
Probably

Is there a pocket clip to use on this or would you suggest a nite-ize hip clip?

Just got mine today, anyone know of a leather pouch/sheath that will accept this tool?
I think you have a typo. It looks like the 19 in 1 is $59 not $29!!
It's $29 with the code
Any idea why the code’s not working in the US for the 21-in-1?
Ah, see you’re updating. Gotcha. Thank you!
The 19 in 1 works, asked then about the others
Picked it up! Looking forward to more of your reviews, too!
@@jhebertutube cheers! I'll make sure the codes work ahead of time in the future
Fixed, check desc.
Could you please clarify which hex bits I should get for this exactly? Do you have any specific links?
Honestly I'm not sure it's been a while
Hi Max, I just received my Farmer X Alox and I simply love it! All my other 15 SAKs go into the knife drawer!
I've heard nothing but good things about it

Another great video! On a side note, did you see that LM is coming out with a new Raptor?
Yep, the raptor is borderline the best thing they ever made so I'm curious
So can you use the leatherman ratchet driver with the kit
Nope
I bought this tool a month ago and I got to tell you it's replaced my wave and centerdrive on the jobsite....
Crazy!!

One issue...these bits are very long so you have to purchase long standard bits
3:00 Or you can put something into the hole that's close to the handle and the bit will stick out easely. Problem solved.
I wonder would it take wiha bits
Not sure 🤔
Codes aren't working :(
Was a while ago
Boo the code doesn't work in the UK.
If you want to save a couple of quid there's a Mossy Oak branded multitool on Amazon which is identical to the Bibury and usually cheaper
I'll try and find a link to that one too
The 19 in 1 works. I'll reach out to them to get a new code
Try the new code it's for the other color one
@@maxlvledc still could not get it to work. Thank you so much for doing that though, really good of you.
I bought 1 on amazon fine 4 wat it is but it cost $70
$70!!! Don't pay that
Altho i seemingly paid way 2 much i love my bilbury 21 in 1

Anyone else noticing a strong metal smell with these 21 in 1 tools? I got the mossy oak version and it smells like rusting iron.
Excelent review, very very nice tool but a pocket clip it´s would be Perfect! I´ll buy it, thanks!
I love your videos

Hmm, let me see if I cN make it work
