Hi. One suggestion, when removing the needle, loosen the needle retention nut. Pull the needle back, but not all the way. Remove the nozzle and then push the needle forward to remove through the front of the brush. Reverse the order for putting back the needle. If done this way there is no chance that you will damage the tip. Great review!
Thanks, I have a Harder and Steenbeck Evolution CRplus 2-1 (version 2), I took it apart in after my first airbrush session and couldn’t put it apart. Your video was simple to follow and due to your camera being perfectly set up it helped my put my airbrush together again! Thanks!
Have used my Ultra for a month and were not pleased with the air nossle. Replaced it with part nr HST-126793, same cap as infinity. Huge improvement! Like a different airbrush👍
Possiedo l'aerografo H&S Ultra da qualche mese, e confesso che sono estremamente soddisfatto. Ha tante piccole particolarità che rendono l'uso più facile ed immediato. Ottimo!
it is a very nice airbrush nothing special very decent i like the desigen . easy and nice . simple. i wandt to buy the new but i has exedently buy the old.
I have just ordered one of these as an upgrade from a cheap Chinese one which I got with a mini compressor and 2 other airbrushes. Over the last 18 months I have upgraded to a full size 50 litre workshop compressor and reducer. I decided I needed to upgrade as was tired of blocking and breaking the very small nozzles on these cheap ones. Looking forward to trying this one out when it arrives. Great information in the video. Thanks.
Here's a link to what you need if you have an Infinity/Evolution www.everythingairbrush.com/product/crown-cap-for-evolution-infinity-crplus/ If you have an Ultra, you'll need to buy the crown cap + nozzle combination set, which is here: www.everythingairbrush.com/product-category/airbrushing-accessories/airbrush-spares/harder-steenbeck-spares/h-s-needles-nozzles-and-air-caps/page/2/ (you'll need to choose the right size for your needle) The crown cap + nozzles are labelled as for the evolution/infinity, but they work with the ultra as well
@@pamelajones529 they don't market them for the ultra but they are compatible. If you want to use the crown cap on the ultra though you'll have to buy the whole nozzle + cap assembly, as the crown cap is a piece that slides on over the top of a special piece unique to infinities and evolutions. It's all ridiculously complex haha, but it is what it is
I've just received my ultra airbrush 0.2 and I was under the impression that you cannot take the needle cap off without removing the aircap but this is not the case, the air cap can be left on and get Access to the needle to clean it so tip dry won't be an issue
Hi, yet to get an airbrush but would mainly do so for priming/basecoating/varnishing. Would the standard Ultra 0.2mm nozzle cope well with this or should I get a set that also has the 0.4mm such as you reviewed? Thanks!
Hi, sorry for getting back so late. TH-cam has stopped sending comment notifications for some reason :/ For priming, I would highly recommend getting a 0.4mm nozzle set. The particles are a fair bit bigger and you could find yourself with some blockages.
For priming or varnishing or spraying large scale model surfaces (like 1/24 scale), use 0.4mm. for anything else 0.2 will be fine. In my case I use different airbrushes altogether. Obviously not everyone can afford multiple airbrushes so in that case, a 2 in 1 set will do you nicely. Just remember to clean the airbrush between uses.
@@ModellingWeekly Are you able to spray Badger Stynylrez primer through it? I got a cheap Chinese airbrush and compressor for priming but it's junk. It just clogs instantly whenever I put Stynylrez into it.
@@jonm3915 probably something with the primer then, unless your nozzle is blocked. Hold it up to a light source, see if you can see light through it! If it's clear, then I'd try using a different primer, like Vallejo or ammo mig :)
Hope you guys found it useful!

Is this the cap he’s referring to when he says you can change to a cap that allows you to pinch off paint

It's 100% a fantastic little tool, and definitely worth the money!

You'll definitely enjoy it! And no problem 😊
Hi, one question. Can I connect this airbrush to a G1/8 airhose, and how do I do that? Do I need a connector or something?
Yeah all HS airbrushes come standard with a 1/8 BSP thread, so if your hose has a 1/8 BSP thread as well then you don't have any problems!
Hi you reference a cap/nozzle that you can buy that helps with pinching off the dried paint on the nozzle- do you know the name of that?

I have been using this for a while but the black ring on the nozzle broke (not sure what it’s called) can I still use the airbrush without it?
I'd get replacement O-rings, preferably teflon - without them you'll start to suffer nasty paint leaks!
Alright thanks I’ve found some replacements all I have to do is buy them and see if they fit

@@Frserthegreenengine well put ! I also use 0.4 for larger surface areas, as it is more efficient, but that's just personal preference
Do you still use it?
Yup, but for varnishes and primers only. It's a great airbrush!
