    H&S made a tool that increased thier market share. It really seems like almost anyone could use and maintain this brush, regardless of experience level.

    Bought this airbrush from local shop in Poland about 108-110$, love it so much. For me the same issue- not enough space for finger between cup and trigger and during longer sessions my finger gets tired due to spring tension, I'm making a scale models so fine lines, small painting, pre-shading everything is possible with this AB despite thw needle is 0.45. My younger brother tried Ultra2024 and now it is his main AB, he is only 10, was difficult for him to operate the trigger so I swapped the spring to another one with lower tension (not all springs put trigger to its neutral position, so it was a challenge to get the right one). Before H&S Ultra 2024 we've used GSI Creos 270, 289, 290, Fengda bd130 and H&S Evo CR+ so the tension in this AB was something unusual for us, also want to mention it is very good when needle is fully covered with needle cap so almost no dent, he can put AB on paper and make straight lines ( the better part of his paintings are large ships). To summarise we are happy to have this AB😄😄😄

      @@omichalek I had one in my stash, looks like identical but the coils of the spring are a little thinner, i think it is possible to find proper spring in clock repair shop. Choose the right one so it will put trigger to its neutral position with no issues and at the same time will be easy to use for your finger.

      @omichalek You can try a coil spring out of automatic ballpoint pen. If it too stiff just shorten it a little with side cutter.

    Love your channel. I have watched a lot of your reviews. I build and paint sale models and diagrams. I gave the infinity a try a few years ago and struggled with it. My iwata hc cs is easy brush to use. I just found about the H&S trigger hack so waiting on parts. I just pulled the trigger on a Blair low rider custom micron Takumi and just ordered the black chrome H&S evolution. The brush has been completely redesigned they addressed the trigger issue. Thank you for the review! I was considering the EVOLUTION CR Plus 2024, the new upgrades they came up with, the closer needle seal and the 2 cup sizes, not to mention that I can get two nozzle sizes a .45 and .28, sounds to me a very interesting range. I only have an Iwata HP-CH with 0.3 which I bought 15 years ago and I never used an H&S airbrush, but based on your older videos and this one I'm sure that it is defiantly achieves the quality of an Iwata.

    Ive had mine for a week. Two issues: my big fingers can't come close to fitting in between the trigger and the cup. The space they allowed is WAY WAY too small. Second issue is that tiny cup--great for portrait artists and lousy for modelers. Otherwise it is the coolest thing I can imagine and has a wonderful balanced feel.

    I need a new airbrush for priming/basing my miniatures, I am coming from a badger 105 that I've been struggling with (I have a mig air viper for fine detail that I love). Would you recommend the H&S Ultra, or an Iwata Eclipse or Revolution to replace my badger? I bought this brush and got it this month and so far it’s been amazing! I do have a question though, I bought a 0.2 needle/nozzle for detailed work, and it came with a different needle cap. I was lead to believe are interchangeable on H&S brushes, so I tried it, and since then, the original cap now screws on a bit differently, the cleaning guides no longer line up on the side like they did when it came out of the box. It’s not really a problem as such, it still sprays great, I can still use the guides to clean the tip, but it does make me wonder if I’ve stripped or damaged the threads. Does this sound like a potential issue?

    I would put up the Grex XGi-ES airbrushes against the Ultra. The Grex has excellent build quality for $119. What I like about the Grex brushes is that all of their current products use common parts. For example, you can change out the 0.3 mm needle set for a 0.2, 0.5, or 0.7 needle set in this brush and it is the same needle set for the XSi-ES, XBi-ES, EGi, ESi, XBi and Tritium TG, and TS brushes. All of these brushes can also use the common Fan Caps products, and all have interchangeable color cups. Hard to beat that versatility for a price that tends to beat the pants off comparable products from Iwata or H&S. My two cents.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No such thing as a stupid question here! Yes, you can replace this cap with the 2 prong one from the infinity but you will need to buy the new cap that fits this specific nozzle. My suggestion would be to reach out to H&S to confirm this and see what the recommend because I'm not 100% sure on this. The cup does not leak at all when you backflush and I only backflush when I'm finishing up cleaning to make sure there is nothing left. Hope this helps! Best of luck to you.

    @areynolds35 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My Ultra 2024 arrived a week ago and I just painted up my first minis. I’m not sure if I am in the minority here, but I was really disappointed. I have been airbrushing for about 3-4 years (mainly just zenithal priming) with a Badger Patriot 105. The badger has been a great tool for priming, but I am wanting to get into basing and highlighting with the airbrush and was excited for this new Ultra 2024. Main disappointment has been clogging. It has been so bad I was sure they sent the wrong needle / nozzle combo. I have run stynelrez primer and white ink through a 190 micron straining funnel and with both of these the Ultra 2024 clogged up, almost immediately with the primer and after 30 seconds or so with the white ink. I have never had to thin my primer or ink when using the badger, but had really bad clogging with the Ultra. I think, not sure, but I think it is due to the setting collar (prime, base, and 3 highlight settings). Even on prime, the furthest setting, the trigger can’t go back far enough. The tip of the needle is still sticking out of the nozzle so there is a tiny gap for paint to flow through. Also, the nozzle hole is about 1/3 the size of the badger patriot, despite the badger being a .5 and the Ultra 2024 a .45. I haven’t tried it on the wide open setting, but plan to do that later this week and will provide an update. Curious if others have experience similar results.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      really? not sure but it kind of sounds like some of the paint is causing a clog that needs to be flushed out periodically. Happens to me all the time with white paint. What I do is just fully pull back on the trigger to blast it out and 99% of the time this works. Cleaning off tip dry is important too! My advice would be to just paint with the collar fully open for a while to see if it's any better. But maybe something is damaged and needs to be replaced. I recommend reaching out to H&S and see what they can do for you and best of luck! Hope this helps.

    • @areynolds35
      @areynolds35 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theartworkshop I will definitely do this. I think it is the difference in why I have had a lot fewer clogs on my badger. If it starts to clog up I just pull all the way back and clear the clog and the collar settings on the Ultra 2024 just don’t let the trigger go back far enough. I think the prime setting, especially, should be at least a few mm further back. I’ll try with the wide open setting next time and report back.

      that does sound very odd. Probably best to get it replaced if you just ordered it

      I have no idea... I ordered it like 3 weeks ago from H&S and haven't heard anything since I paid for it. I doubt they even shipped it out yet because I didn't receive a tracking number. I hope they send it out soon or at least give me an update on my order.

    Have you tried their new 0.28mm needle? they claim it's more accurate for details than their old 0.20mm needle.

    I've had this for 3 months, and it didn't work to well the first couple times, lots of inconsistency with how the paint came out, as in, it wouldnt until I pulled back more, and then too much came out, or some pulls would speckle, but well enough to complete projects. Now it just clogs after 2 pulls. Back flows on itself, impossible to use. Looks clean as new, but clogs, has no real use. I agree it seems to be good quality, but paint doesnt flow easy.

    • @theartworkshop
      @theartworkshop  หลายเดือนก่อน

      really? Sorry to hear that! do you think some sort of dried paint is stuck within the nozzle? I would reach out to H&S and see if they have any suggestions. Mine has been spraying very well

    I think this new ultra just has one problem that the trigger is so so so stiff.

    The biggest issue with this brush is cleaning between colours. No backflow (unless you wrap the tip completely) and there’s always paint down the needle after running copious cleaner through it.

    • @NEOECO-Airbrush
      @NEOECO-Airbrush 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wrap a tissue around the airbrush needle cap and then initiate a backflow. In most cases, this method should work effectively.

    • @alternate3787
      @alternate3787 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can unscrew the cap a bit to backflush

    your reviews are great but almost useless to me without showing how well it can simply cover an area. its great that you show how well it can do fine details buts more important to me is how well it can lay down paint
