I work in a toy shop that sells a copy of this crane. Everytime someone asks the price I have to brace myself for their reaction
12:16 Perhaps, since they're support, they chose the gray due to being more resistant.
That's why ball joints only come on light and dark bluish gray, because apparently is the strongest plastic they have.
Still, really nice vid! Really like the transitions, as simply as they are
That’s actually a really interesting idea! Honestly makes a ton of sense, I didn’t even think of that
I didn't know those were the strongest. I was told that red and yellow were the strongest colours hence the new differential gears and the yellow axles in newer technic sets
Damn legos getting expensive. It’s like they know we all grew up and have jobs now.
I think they know (:
or like many other companies *cough cough at you hasbro*
companies are raising prices for the sake of raising prices in the pretense of more profit and pretending to hide under "inflation", when its clearly not so.
Lego has been expensive and overpriced for like 10 years at this point
@@GreenNinj4 Has become worse value for money, inflation isn't the reason. The company has grown larger, they want more profits, want to grow even larger.
2 words- “because technic”
4:16 I’m surprised they didn’t include tons of rubber studs to attach to the treads. Especially for a set this expensive? I remember when they introduced those for the Ultra Stealth Raider, felt like a game changer.
I would have loved to see you hold that crane whilst walking backwards through your collection :)
I have actually seen this machine on a job site and the sure size of the machine is amazing. But I’m all honesty I do agree that the price point is a bit steep, but at that same time them including that tilt sensor is a very nice touch.
Show me that crane picking up your titanic! 😂
Front end of the crane would prolly snap off lmao
Interesting to see this set in action!
It definitely plays really well!
The grey is likely because of piece strength. It seems those pillars have a lot of weight on them and yellow may have been relatively brittle. For example, brown is known to shatter a lot.
i work in construction, albeit the office / financial side of construction, and im getting this to put it on my shelf at work. it looks sweet.
Honestly, I don’t care a whit about this set. What I found to be the most compelling thing about this review were the Braille bricks in the background. I imagine I’ll be primarily thinking about that every review you post for the next six months.
Looks like LEGOs aren't for you
It’s an incredible Technic set, a bit expensive but not comparable to the UCS Millennium Falcon for sure. The grey does break up the aesthetic though but it could well be that’s the strongest colour for plastic as others here have pointed out that is the case with ball joints.
Yeah I get worried about the an App’s longevity. It’s doubtful they will continue to support these sets 20 years from now so passing these down to younger generations become less and less special.
That’s my big concern as well - and it’s basically every technic set today plus the City trains. Very curious about Lego’s plan to future-proof these
Surely Lego will ensure that if they have to update the app or create new ones, that they will DEFINITELY be reverse-compatible. Imagine the uproar if Lego left soooo many of their older kits lacking.
The real solution is to just swap out the motors and hubs for good old Power Functions lol
Code is open source and we already have a way to control it without control+ app. So don't worry
@@MicahPotts True, but they have done it before. Although that was around 20+ years ago.
great review im sort of sitting on the shelf for this one only because its not accurate to the real thing as the real one has a longer boom and doesnt have those grey bits ,Do you know if you can get the parts to make it more accurate?
Ever heard of Mould King 17015? 4300 parts, 6 motors, 6 chanel hub ,physical controller, USB charging for controller and hub,and its double the high of the lego set. And it only cost 185-200€ here in europe on amazon.
Im not a fan of Mould King simply because they rip off MOC creators and do not credit them. They are a typical Chinese company. Steal somebody else's work and sell it.
i own this model and have thrown a few reviews of it on my channel too. It is definitely an EXPENSIVE piece of kit. But it is SO unique and with SO many playable features, I do think it could possibly actually be worth the price. Especially since Lego tends to hold their value quite well and usually appreciate more than anything else. Unless you want to wait and see if it goes on sale in a few months, If this model intrigues you and you have the money. I say GET IT. You will like it. Cheers! :D
The Liebherr 42100 also had 2 hubs, but 7 motors and 4000 pieces and cost about €450. So the crawler is way overpriced…
If LEGO used a physical controller, they could stop develop dedicated apps that are expensive.
Is this a “leak?”
They sell this set around €450 euro over here and cheapest was even close to €400
bucket wheel excavator with almost double pieces that retailed for £190 like wtf
This thing is currently on sale for "only" 440 €. For a price like that, it might actually be a good purchase.
I don't need this and have no significant interests and agreed that overwhelmingly expensive but you've got me sold.
Ah yes, I would love to pay 700€ for this weird tank that looks nothing like any real Liebherr Crane
Is it worth forr 700 bucks? Depends...if u have 700 spare bucks for motorized lego, its worth it, its gr8 fun to build it, it gr8 fun to play it (im saying this as almost 40y old man btw :))...this set is controversal ...and fun. Bought it for about 400 bucks, luckily, and love it.
...pro tip for LEGO...next time pls use hubs as counterweight, they are heavier and not a single use overpriced piece ;)
What is the tick tick noise when it turn ?
I mean. That's a fully functional crane and almost as large as duckbricks' torso.
Lego App-Controlled Cat D11 Bulldozer 42131
My husband and I thought the same thing, but we still wanna get eventually.
It’s definitely a really solid build and it works super well! Honestly it doesn’t even seem THAT overpriced all things considered - it’s just so hard to gauge the value
When I can buy a set with 3x more lego parts for $100 less, it doesn't even come with a physical controller, and it relies on an app that will absolutely die in less than 5 years then you can be DAMN sure I'm not buying this thing. And this coming from someone who LOVES lego cranes. And yeah, motor motors, big deal. You used to be able to get lego motors for less than half the price they are now, and they were straightforward and easy to use. Getting rid of the old motors system was a terrible idea.
8:45 - you're wrong. Motors are super cheap to produce. Super cheap.
u make me wanna cry
Hi Chris. 😮 Only $700. No in Melbourne Australia. $1000 .25 so Doller s at Lego land. Crazy. 😢😢 😢 Guess with that price thay. Only had. One on the shelf. Their. It's a awesome set. Yes. But but. But ..the price s 😢😢
I think it should've been at most 500 to 550 dollars
Hi
Worth 350$ at most
Those counter weights would work real well to keep a UCS Ghost from tipping back due to the engines being way too heavy for it😂
Hope we get a reak life or lufe size or even technic app controlled forklift truck hope we get this
#LegoLeaks
Instead kf string they should have used chaibs and real life chsins and use metal parts like metdl hooks as the string could snap sibce strinf is so flimsy
Why? Why would anyone want this? Seems silly 😮
$300 to $400 to $450 .. at the most. I say. It's price should be. 😢. Add like most set s. It's $100 so extra. When a set first. Come s out. Then it drop s $125 so or more ...it was going. To be a first day. Buy for me ..add with the size. Of it. Is great. .at first. I thort it was just going to be as big as the. Crain in construction moduler set. But say dubble its size. But. This Crain is. Like technic. Big. Set. Size.. I not got the space. For it. So no buy. For me ..but as thay added 6 motor s. You can cee why the $700 price tag. $1000 25 Doller or so. In Australia. 6 motors $100 each motor. So $600 just. In motor price s.
Yes I agree on. The Gray part s. Not as good an thay should. Of bean yellow. And it should of bean longer. In the frunt part of the build. And the. Tracking. It drive s on. Should of bean wider. And the sights should of bean. At the back. .and. Yeah. Like I seed. It kinda like a big technic s set ..but diffrent. Name for it guess. Lego is going to. Start a diffrent. Collection set s. Like this one ..but high price ..so only the rich of tho s with good payed jobs or. Have to save to get. One of got not much Mony. 😢. Oh the wight s. Got no metal in them. 😮 Over all. The. 6 motors s at $99 to $100 each motor ...that s .what. U paying. For. Most ....yes Chris s. I think. 500 at the. Most. .but. For all the part s. Plus 600 ..for the motor s. Rounds out to be. $700 plus. ..but $1000 25 so Doller in Australia. Heek no ..Lego.
Technic is meh 😒
I don't need this and have no significant interests and agreed that overwhelmingly expensive but you've got me sold.
I don't get why Liebherr gave their ok for this. It doesn't look like any of their products. The scale is completely off. The vehicle part looks extremely obese and the crane part is waaaayyy to short. This would have been a better set without license.
It’s….. Lego…..
Tracks are too narrow, wouldn't have enough traction in real life. Also the part where only one tracks turns is pathetic when tanks can turn both tracks to rotate their hull
