Picked this up at a shop when on vacation. Halfway through the first bowl it became my new favorite. I noticed you mentioned Fusilier's Ration. I’m going to pick some of that up as well.

So now I’ve heard a Syrian person say Latakia in an interview. A slight accent goes on the second syllable, and the “kia” is pronounced as a single syllable. (lah•TAH•kyah)

You know, I noticed that pronunciation awhile back as well, listening to a few Greek pipe smokers discuss it. I just keep forgetting though!
@@TheSpurgeonPiper it can be hard to retrain one’s brain with something like language, so I’ve been unintentionally going back and forth like I’ve got a split personality or something.

@@TheSpurgeonPiper gotcha. I actually just got GL Pease Quiet Nights for the pipe nook and broke in my new 673 with it. This was my first time ever smoking an English blend and boy oh boy….was that different. I’m use to Virginia’s and Aromatics as of right now but am venturing off into the English blends. I loved the smell of Quiet Nights it reminded me of a campfire with post oak burning. Or like the smell of a smoker firing up. The last was exactly that leathery and Smokey. At first I’m not really digging it but I’m going to keep it and keep working with it. I’ll definitely grab some early morning and see how that goes. As always your reviews and opinions are always greatly appreciated.
@@Unreconstructed_Georgian I'm a huge fan of QT. But ya, it's a stout blend for a newbie to English blends. Chelsea Morning is its lighter counterpart (and a favorite of mine). I think it will suit you more
@@TheSpurgeonPiper yeah it’s definitely stout 🤣. When I opened the tin it took me a second due to the cured oak firewood smell, which I enjoyed. I’ve just not use to Latakia AT ALL. I’ll find Chelsea morning and grab a tin and work my way back up to QT. Thank you for taking the time to help set me on the right paths with English’s lol. Cause I was lost 🤣
