Wow! Excellent, indeed! Many thanks for the rich, meaningful, thoughtful, artful content. You bring much respect to the hobby, in general, but you've taken it to a powerful new level. Kudos to your partnership and your mighty achievement! Tolkien would be proud! May your happiness and success rise like smoke-rings from your pipe.
Kevin, Thank you! You and Russ accomplished a magnificent thing by capturing the heart of Hobbiton, its inhabitants and Hobbits the world over. God bless, Paul
One of the best videos you have ever done. All the reasons why I love this pipe hobby, or better yet, lifestyle, summed up in one illustrated commentary. Well done, sir.
We must also consider what the Hobbits pared with pipeweed. We know they were avid ale consumers, and many other farm products, as well as wine. I find it safe to assume their pipeweed/blends would not interfere with all that made them what they were or fabricated. Rather, pipeweed would compliment what they essentially were. Loved this video.
Great video and relaxing. I will be watching this several times to remind me to relax in this world. Thank you for making this video, and thank you, Mr. Russ Hicksfor your artwork.
Well done👌👏👏👏👏. Too windy for a pipe today, but love my pipe. Making a split pea soup for dinner, with bacon and leek and garlic and onions and potatoes and herbs, served with a pint of beer, cheers🍻🍻🍺
I love hearing someone else who experiences Tolkien the same way I do. I finished a re-read recently, wept at the Houses of Healing. They get better every time I read them.
Kevin, what you have done here is masterful, and reminded me of the passage below from "The Two Towers": "Half a moment!" said Pippin. Putting his hand inside the breast of his jacket he pulled out a little soft wallet on a string. "I keep a treasure or two near my skin, as precious as Rings to me. Here's one: my old wooden pipe. And here's another: an unused one. I have carried it a long way, though I don't know why. I never really expected to find any pipe-weed on the journey, when my own ran out. But now it comes in useful after all." He held up a small pipe with a wide flattened bowl, and handed it to Gimli. "Does this settle the score between us?" he said. "Settle it!" cried Gimli. "Most noble hobbit, it leaves me deep in your debt." WE as a pipe community are "Deep in your debt". Very well done our fellow piper.
That was absolutely awesome. Well written, well spoken, beautifully illustrated, and makes me feel like I need a to pack a big, lovely bowl of longbottom leaf! Well done, and much thanks to you and Russ for creating and sharing this. -C.

That was amazing Kevin, extremely well done, and I can already tell this will be a video I return to time and time again. The illustrations are wonderful, he is very talented, I especially like the one with the smoke in the form of a dragon.
New to pipe smoking. Not so new to Tolkien. Have watched several videos while learning this new hobby/lifestyle. Been a long time fan of LOTR universe from childhood and absolutely love how well you have incorporated pipe smoking and Tolkien in your videos. Thank you so much for putting in the time and effort into making these videos. They have truly helped a newbie like me begin this wonderful journey.
A copy of LOTR is always on both my nightstand and in my Kindle. I was a teenager the first time I read the saga, but i have read it many times since then. It is like sitting down with an old friend at this point in my life. I will celebrate my 70th birthday in a few short months. I believe I will take your advice and on that day enjoy a bowl of pipe weed. It won't be Longbottom Leaf, of course, but I'm sure I will enjoy a Virginia blend of some sort.

I think that I might have to actually read/listen to the LOTR books now. I enjoyed he videos with my family as ththey came out, but now I think that I should read the books.
