I shake my head every time I watch a Just Rolled in video. It’s funny how you’ll get customers that will blow their engines up and ones the dealer to cover under warranty when they have driven their vehicles like 40 to 60,000 miles without having a single oil change done in that time period. There’s people out there that probably wouldn’t know how to even pop their hood or check a tire pressure if their life depended on it.
@@railfanpat1719That does happen. Many years ago, a doctor friend of Ours had Me look at His Jeep Wrangler for a no start issue after it started and “stalled”. It had a slight resistance issue with several blue bearings. Exact issue, don’t remember the mileage but it never had an oil change, or check. Those 4.0’s can die.
One of my roommates in college asked me to look at his 1980something suburban. He said it was leaking oil really badly from the rear axle. I went out and checked. Told him to open the rear door. I removed the spare tire and found a vintage plastic oil quart that had burst. We had a lol, cleaned it up and went inside.
I just couldn't help but to LOL at this one. At first, I knew it couldn't be brake fluid just from where it was dripping. When you showed us it was red, that proved it wasn't brake fluid. Then I thought "transmission fluid? Back there? What did they spill in the back?" Well, you answered that one in a hurry. I thought I would be disappointed because of how short the video was. But not so. Thanks for another great video, Ivan.
Years ago, I had a good customer that had just bought a new 1987 Pontiac Grand Prix. She told me she had green liquid leaking from under the trunk. Sure enough she did have green fluid leaking from the trunk. Her husband had placed a gallon of antifreeze in the trunk with a loose cap. I found it and she had to get the trunk liner replaced as the antifreeze had saturated it. Great video!
At this point King Ivan is just messing with the rest of these mechanic fools and doing No Parts Required fixes for leaking transmission fluid which on the surface should be impossible. Not for Ivan. The Mechanical Wizard King sent to us from another planet because they felt bad for humanity. Long live the king!!!
I Love It! The owner didn't think to look in the back? So they don't know what's back there or what it looks like? Reminds me of one I had at the shop in the late 80's. I just got back from a service call. The shopleader says the truck quit working. So I check the underhood fluids, and go for a road test. Truck is a 1981 Chevy C10 6 cylinder automatic and it runs like a dream! Won't stall, good power, no noises, no dash lights. Come back ready to turn loose, N.P.F. Shop leader describes what I did and N.P.F. She says, "I know the truck runs good, it's the "WINKIE" that quit." The turn signal was bad. You know, "The Winkie!" Good find Ivan. Comedy Relief during a day of diagnostics! Gotta love it!
After my week, that made lmao.. I personally wouldn't have billed her given she will most likely be a future client and recommend you around her network of people. JMO, thanks for sharing.
23 years ago I took my brand new Hyundai Elantra back to the dealer because it started smoking. They said it was a trash bag that throughly melted to the exhaust and had to burn away. Since then I’ve seen it happen in real time to multiple drivers and my passengers always wonder why I go out of my way to avoid running over bags that blow around in the wind. It occasionally happens anyway so I always look to see if the bag is blowing around behind me. If not, I pull over immediately to check and, yes, I have caught it happening again (early enough to remove). I’m never going to a mechanic for a plastic bag again!
Owner owes you a cup of coffee. Plastic containers starts to leak when they age as well. I have unfortunately discovered that myself. Saturated a storage shelf, but nothing serious. Worst trouble was to get the leaking and saturated stuff out of the storage compartment in the basement.
How many shops would have said, "Yep, these brakes are worn out and leaking dangerously. You were lucky to notice it before it failed and you got in a wreck. You need all new calipers and pads, and you might as well replace the rotors while we have it all apart. That will save you a lot of money on labor because we won't have to take everything apart again in a couple of thousand miles to change the weakened rotors which are covered with clearly visible scratches."
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the ole Subaru panel tranny output drive. I thought they phased those out after they got the fancy ones that screwed on to the front thing, they call it a motor or engine or something. I think Subaru was the only foreign domestic that had a PTO drive. 😆
This reminded me of a concern for a clunk when accelerating or braking and also on corners. I kid you not they had a bowling ball in the trunk that came out of its bag.
Crazy how well gravity works. Reminds me of the 86 Volvo 240 that had a literal puddle of green fluid in the drivers rear floor. They were told the floor has a leak from the bottom. Further common sense checks showed a leaking heater control valve near the driver footwell.
Bill him an hour. He deserves to pay for this lol….The general population in our society has no clue how to deduce or use any rational thinking. How sad.
Wrong channel, should be on just rolled in, when he gets the bill and sees what happened they’ll need an aspirin from hitting themself in the head Doh!😮😅
Just when you thought you've seen it all, Just Rolled In releases another video. My favorite so far is the guy caught on video trying to take his locking lug nuts off with a pick axe. He was actually hacking away.
I heard about one where the customer said there was a heavy clunk in the back, that it sounded like two bowling balls rolling around in the trunk. 🤦♂️
An ez one for u Ivan. Say what you may about the customer/owner, smart enough to get it to you for an accurate diagnosis. 👍 Not everyone is car knowledgeable, and some more than others. Just make sure you check the blinker fluid before returning to the customer. 😉
I sold am old Studebaker to this guy. When he was loading onto to the roll back, a red fluid starting leaking out of the trunk. He thought it was blood and was afraid to open the trunk! Needless to say it was a old can of ATF that was leaking. His reaction was too funny!
I got out of my car one time and noticed green coolant under the engine, popped the bonnet and saw it coming out the air cleaner?????? I had LPG on ,my car and the aluminium convertor had corroded through. Damn.
my brake fluid doesnt get low and looks clear up front but she is bleeding out the back red... so now the question is did the same fairy who swapped fuses on the land rover also poke a hole in that container because aint no way that was put there without a hole in it already...
Hi Ivan. Here’s an similar example . When we were kids my brother and I about 5 years old got new rubber boots . My mum took them back to the store complaining that they leek . The store said we tested them & they are fine. One of your boys is peeing his pants. No joke true story.🤣💦
Same thing happened to my wife. She told me there was a coolant leak, but never told me the location. She brought it in for service, and they found a leaking bottle in the trunk. 😆
Good morning Ivan! I know you are super busy so I will keep this question as basic as I can. I have a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 gas. Once a year typically around September or October I get a money light for P2423 HC Adsorption catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 1. I live in Pittsburgh so I wonder if change season with temperature is related? I clear code and it’s gone until the following fall. No other codes and no drivability issues. Nissan has a Service Bulletin BTB20-020 for this exact issue and says replace the downstream cat and flex pipe tube. They may not cover this since years ago I already changed downstream cat with EPA walker. I replaced under warranty the EPA walker once for same code a couple of years ago. Is it possible I need to install a CARB certified Cat since this car has California emissions from the factory? The computer may be sensitive to it not being a CARB cat. Freeze Fram data only showed it went open loop during 40mph cruise and 183 coolant temp. 17% TP short 3% long 0% FT. Everyone else looked normal. Upstream cat still original with 115,000 miles. Thanks
Yeah, I didn’t consider that. It could be the change in fuel blend since it’s always in Sept or October it happens. I ordered a carb certified direct fit from rockauto. It was $314 shipped. I saw a TH-cam video where someone had much better readings from the CARB cat vs the federal new one. It passes pa emissions every year. I guess I should just drive it and it worry about it! Haha😂 You and Eric O. should do a collaboration again! I met ya both at the ETCG 2016 meetup!
No way... what was the charge? 😂😂😂. Have it something similar a year a go, customer said to change the cabin air filter becouse is stinks... în fact was 2 month Starbucks coffee forgotten in the passenger door
Share with Just Rolled In !!!
DONE :)
I was waiting for the leaking bottle of red cordial, or gatorade thrown in the back by the kids😂

Too bad it only got the plastic mudguard wet LOL!

This needs to be featured in "Just rolled in" 🤣
This is a classic example of a Stop Light and Blinker Light Fulid leak 😊😅😊

My mechanic told me to replace the blinker fluid. Never been able to find it until now. Thanks Ivan!
Ha ha too funny! Show the video where you plugged your scanner in and it said... check fluid level behind rear seat!
Don't forget to check the blinker fluid!
We need the transducer on that bottle. Stat!
You should throw in a compression test on that one to check for brunt valves
GOOD VIDEO!!!

That labor is worth a lunch.
Yes, that's why I keep on going through their sorts of companies as an electrician !
Like the classic rattling noise from the rear suspension over bumps...."Miss, it was your tire iron bouncing around in the spare tire well."

Wow! That must be a first 🙂 Customers do get really distracted 🙂 Impressively fast diagnostic 🙂
I thought it might have been a strawberry slurpee.
Fix: replaced (a bottle of) transmission fluid with fresh clean (bottle of) transmission fluid! 😅

Free self-rust proofing for the Subaru owner. 1 hour diag charge minimum. 😂
Nice job Ivan!

Thanks for sharing the clip :)
😂Based in the yellow orange area in the thumbnail I'd have thought the car was leaking blinker fluid!
You better check the blinker fluid and for a blown glove box gasket while you at it. 😂😂
Also no parts required !
I was waiting for the leaking bottle of red cordial, or gatorade thrown in the back by the kids😂
how much 'accommodating' did you provide for this customer?
And the record of Ivan's quickest diag goes to:
This reminded me of a concern for a clunk when accelerating or braking and also on corners. I kid you not they had a bowling ball in the trunk that came out of its bag.
Crazy how well gravity works. Reminds me of the 86 Volvo 240 that had a literal puddle of green fluid in the drivers rear floor. They were told the floor has a leak from the bottom. Further common sense checks showed a leaking heater control valve near the driver footwell.
The best part about this diagnosis is the mileage you get out of the story.😅
Some days are so easy 😅

Stupid should hurt.
Or, cut the person a break. Not everyone is a car genius, my guy!
Thats not how you build good faith with your customer base.
*she
No need to be hostile to a customer. Might not even be the original owner and something like that could have been put there years ago.

Best diag so far!
Didn’t need the Verus this time, good call.
Since you are going to bill them for a diagnosis, I would have checked all of the fluid levels especially the transmission fluid level.
Can't let Just Rolled In have all the fun can you?
And no parts required 😊
I actually removed the leaky bottle so negative parts on this one LOL!

What! No bonus footage? 😮
31 seconds into diagnose: where is it leaking through?
I was thinking it was going to be blinker fluid!
Self lubricating chassis ? :)
LOL
you are not mechanic you are investigator 🤣
Ivan, AWESOME repair LOL u should charge minimum one hour on this one.
Another no parts required, too!
That a Good Laugh for today
I couldn't believe it HAHA
Quickest I've ever been....
World record diagnosis!
Your killing it Ivan!
Ever get that "Am I being tested" feeling?
That’s just gold !!
I brought 4l of chain oil out with the snowblower. When I started it by the postbox I thought the engine blow up. Easy fix when it's - 10°C. 😂
Same thing happened to my wife. She told me there was a coolant leak, but never told me the location. She brought it in for service, and they found a leaking bottle in the trunk. 😆

Yep. The transmission is leaking. (A bottle of transmission fluid is leaking). I would charge them triple. 😂
weeeeel. for some mechanics that could be a '' rear '' master cylinder that ''needs'' to be changed...... and that will be 450 dollars please
Haha. See - not all of your videos require a 4 channel scope. Thanks Ivan
No laptop required
that's probably the least of its problems
Did you charge the whole hour? Just curious.
😆 🤣 lol what a great diag and fix...wish all diags comes out like this 😅😅

What was the cost for that diag. And driving time ?? Lol🍺
What's the smallest increment of time you charge for? 🤣
Hahaha! That was funny. Bet customer feels like a dumb ass after that one. Probably one of your easiest diagnoses ever
Bill them a $200 diagnostic fee, Ivan. Shops would!

Self lubricating chassis system synonymous with Jeep owners
Definitely no parts required!
No parts required
