How the Klingons managed to survive their atomic age without annihilating each other would be an interesting show
Historically speaking they were possessing a different forms of honour, it would be difficult to judge off based from ent klingons
Historically speaking they were possessing a different forms of honour, it would be difficult to judge off based from ent klingons
Historically speaking they were possessing a different forms of honour, it would be difficult to judge off based from ent klingons
This was explained in a different Enterprise episode. The Klingons were a fairly normal species until some time around the turn of the 22nd century, when the warrior class took over the government.
@@battleax86 Hard to imagine them as anything other than a warrior race.
Tpol was really a hidden gem in this series. She walked a VERY fine line to share some of the most perfect facial expressions to convey what is so difficult for the Vulcan. She was a great cast!
unfotunately that stiff acting of hers didn't do so well in other roles like on SG1.
@@pluckypluckster ... She did leave something to be desired on SG1. Maybe Tpol was just the right character for her to play. It cannot be easy to for one to manage the very subtle inflections to convey emotion from a character that is not supposed to show any by their very nature. This is made more difficult, as visually a VERY striking woman and that alone can be quite distracting. As Tpol, she walked this fine line to show emotion that is all but unheard of from Vulcans. However, due to her specific nature is more in tune or touch with her emotions, per mother's explanation at one point in the show. She was great in this show, so gets props from me :)
The actress was not there for her acting skills.
@@tonyennis1787 ... I would agree, that her incredibly striking beauty / sex appeal was paramount on the list of putting together a cast, I do think that she was a great in this roll. There were often times when her acting need only be generic to play the part, she was able to convey some of that emotion in a way that worked very well.
.
On a COMPLETELY side note, did anyone else notice Tpol went from a solid, and I do mean "solid"... "C Cup" to a VASTLY more attractive "B Cup" in the last couple seasons? I don't follow MarxistWood gossip, but I think she had a "boob-duction" between seasons 2~3... I think it was.
@@NinjaKittyBonks you genuinely think one of the most vulgar expressions of American capitalism is Marxist?? Lmfao

It never hurts to appeal to Klingon honor. Case in point.
Klingons are repeatedly shown to be dishonorable, though. Whenever someone appeals to a Klingon's honor, it's more of a shame thing, as in "oh my, what are people going to say if you do this? I'll make sure everyone knows". The Klingon then agrees only to save face, not because of being honorable.
This sounds like a rule of acquisition somewhat.
@ironcito1101 Honor is very subjective, generally speaking one could say it's the compliance with a system's rules, basically being "lawful". But such rules are arbitrary and not necessarily fair.
cause looking good is all that matters, wether it be klingons or californian leftoids, being little sneaks irl but hiding behind a fake veil of virtue.@@ironcito1101
That's a K'tinga Class battlecruiser and they didn't appear until late 23rd century. Yes, I am a Star Trek nerd and proud of it.
That's a D4 class battlecruiser. A relation of the K'Tinga class battlecruiser. Source: also a nerd and i checked Memory Alpha. EDIT: yes the model is a K'Tinga, but the intention that it was to be called a D4 class.
The D4, D7 and K'tingas are in the same generally design family in Show and show productions. Fun fact the romulans in TOS enterprise incident also had D7 type warships. Alas the problem with pre-cgi era you had to make do with models. Hence why the excelsior featured heavily in DS9 And TNG as support ships. The Miranda's served from pre TOS to Wolf 359 the Dominion War and Sector 001. And we rarely saw other support ships. In the CGI era and lower decks we discovered the California class. The rise of the Intrepid and such
I love all of you because I had the same thought and then wondered about finding this very sort of comment. I do enjoy being a trek nerd just like this
The creators of this show apologized to the fans. They were o suppose to use the D7 model. D4 model looks VERY diferent
Kelgons are like cats.
"Hey is something there?”
"Fire 2 torpedoes"
"Yup, hit something."
"It's sitting on a shelf...how dare it! I'll knock it off and see if it can hit the floor. Yes, it hit the floor and even better, it shattered. Is there another one like it?...Yes, there is. It's over there. I wonder if it will hit the floor as well?"
Yes, cats are Klingons. 😂
T’Pol is light years ahead of both the Kling-Ons and the Hoomans.
That body is.

@@oldschoolgamer-w4u I was going to make pretty much the same comment. Can't blame the guy can ya. LoL.
Correction... HEW-MONS. 😋
But NOT the Ferengi.
What's great about Archer's performance is that it portrays a leader, without officer experience specifically, adjusting to the role of captain. Excellent acting.
I love the changes in his expression when T'Pol commends him to the Klingons and he's like "wow she just stood up for me to Klingons and won--wait, oh yeah, I AM noble and worthy of Kliingon's respect ."
I never cared for him or his acting but he fit this roll so well.
"BRING THEIR CAPTAIN TO ME AND EXECUTE THE OTHERS!"
The most Klingon greeting evar!
I like the Tellarites sarcasm better. I'm glad T'Pol is not afraid of being assertive!
I love it when the rep++ from an earlier quest actually gives you benefits in later sidequests.
She was the ABSOLUTELY perfect choice for playing a Vulcan. This was a perfect example of wisdom, logic and calmess over Strength and might employed by the Klingons
She is so underrated... Jolene Blalock did an amazing job with T'Pol! She managed so well to put on a seemingly calm face where you could still see how sometimes she was fuming under the surface. I really loved her character, and the rapport she had with Archer.
and a nice tummy too.

Oh, yes, and that as well.
HOT AS HELL AS WELL
One never gets over how hot T'pol is. She really looks at home in the captain's chair too.
0:20 Poised like a graceful swan.
I didn't think JB was attractive as a Vulcan. With that said, Mirror T'Pol was smoking hot.
@@Locutus Mirror T'pol was arrayed in a manner more in keeping with traditional beauty standards. The T'pol of seasons one and two was a bit strange-looking but this is sci-fi. It goes without saying some of the folks are going to look a bit ooky. But sure, put a wig on her, unclothe her midriff, it gets people's attention. She did look underfed in the mirror episodes though. Her bones were literally sticking out.
@@halwasserman7905 One to their own. Beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. 🙂
But, I didn't find Prime T'Pol attractive, only Mirror T'Pol. If you were the opposite, that's ok too!
So much body, she should be continued on the next girl.
Appealing to a Klingon’s honor can be a tricky proposition. If they feel like you are questioning it they will act accordingly. Even if they have no honor.
Especially if they have no honor.

I love how T'Pol drapes herself on the command chair.
Wow. Now That's when you need a vulcan. Such a wonderful representation of the virtue embodied by the vulcans. T'Pol was great.
Fun fact even though the model used by The prompt department in this episode is actually a D-7 historically in universe it would have be a D-4 battle cruiser of the 22nd century which does look very similar to the battle cruiser us trekies know & love would have been nice to see it make a few more appearances in this series
I am a total Star Trek nerd, but even I am dumbfounded by the depth of knowledge of trivia by this comment.

Life just eats away and years and memory fade to a haze...
Thanks for this channel, I had forgot this episode!
T'Pol starts talking about honor. The Klingon Captain is like "God dammit, she's right..."
It's interesting that in the earlier seasons of Enterprise T'pol's eyebrows hadn't been made to tilt upwards as is the norm for Vulcans. It was only later that they corrected that rather glaring oversight.
They also gave her a bit better haircut, not so moe ish.
@@shivasirons6159 long time since I heard a stooges' name the last time, you made my Xmas 🤣🖖🖖🖖🖖
@@misterlau5246 Stron was pissed the kid kept calling him a Stooge in 'Carbon Creek'. It was Mestral who said he resembled Moe.
“That’s a Klingon battle cruiser” said with typical T’pol understatement.
It's always interesting to see how little humans understood Klingon culture in this early period of the canon. Completely clueless on how to appeal to them.
Compared to that time Riker stole command of that Klingon vessel during his exchange trip because he knew they'd respect him more for taking action by force than trying to get them to empathise.
It's just so odd. I love the idea of humanity evolving past it's violent history, but that sort of evolution takes millennia at least, of not longer. Unless all of humanity underwent significant genetic engineering, there should be humans that can empathize with how Klingons act and think.
That said, I get how it fits into the story, and I don't disagree with the decision :P
What I noticed is how paranoid and violent the Klingons are in this time period, when they generally have nothing to gain from being cooperative with the Federation, and so mostly don't bother.
one?
or both?
@@darthimperious1594 Its not that humans evolved to the point to not understand Klingons, they just lacked enough experience of interacting with Klingons to deal with them on their level. By Picard's time this was different.
@@darthimperious1594 Along with RisingSun's point, there's also the fact that we have one or two Starfleet captains of primary vessels at this stage? And starfleet is a small organisation that's probably still the flagship body of the newly unified Earth. So picking a captain who is in sync with the new modern values is likely.
Before Humans knew what the hell to do here. Good dang thing T'pol was there.
I just noticed something that probably has ALWAYS been there in my face: Jolene ALWAYS sat on the very front edge of that captain's chair 💺 Undoubtedly it's because she's shorter than Scott and that chair was made with HIS height in mind, but she barely has her ass cheeks in it 😂
It is for looking more sexy.
Oh I noticed that. Ha,ha,ha...
Yeah, she is really hot, and also the only person on this show that isn't a libtard in real life.
She looked much more comfortable in the chair in Through The Mirror Darkly, sitting quite casually. She looked in charge and sexy in both postures. That speaks well to her acting, the direction, and the choices of camera angles.
Trip needs to lower that chair another centimeter. Notice how she holds onto Travis's seat and the front console over too when she needs to see the viewscreen.
T'pol stepping in to spit hot fire, I mean diplomacy.
lol, you got to love the Klingons, they have a clear no nonsense style! That is the fastest response I have ever seen..
It is only logical to be this early for T'pol.
Why in the world did they not grab the alien stealth tech? "We saved your butt, do us a favor." Star Trek is a litany of missed opportunities. "Oh look, a Dyson sphere! Let's just take off! Oh we got our ship hauled to a _different_ galaxy! Let's just disregard the entire record of Barkley's instructions on how to configure our systems to transit galaxies! Oooh The Borg have trans-warp capacity. Let's just ignore that next time we grab one of their ships!" Holy cow .. "Oh, the Vidiians possesss amazing knowledge of genetic manipulation. Let's just not bother with asking them anything!"
I'm pretty sure with regards to the Dyson sphere, Starfleet sent a science vessel to study it thoroughly. Given its size, probably a whole lot of science vessels. They always liked to do things that way. Enterprise's mission was to explore and make first contact with other races, not to not to stick around for months or years focusing on a single thing.
the one i liked is that Borg from the 29 century that was full of tech, and killed himself in the end to save the crew of janeway...
Kironide from Plato's Stepchildren? Parmen held the Enterprise in orbit with his mind.
Defiling a human ship with degenerate xenos technology would be heresy.

Gosh this was such a great show, oh man if only it had ran for 7 seasons I read of course the books of the Romulan War but still.
I thought I was subscribed. I am now! Must've been those pesky Suliban. 😡

This is probably one of the most funniest Klingon moments.
"They haven't even started the Federation yet and already I'm annoyed.. they just suck the fun out of everything....all the superior officers I had to kill to get this command, and a few first officers to keep it, finally had a chance to blow something up, but some "honorable" human and his ridiculously hot Vulcan XO says I can't... hey hold up, how'd our foreheads get all ridgey and over- exaggerated? I bet in 100 years they won't look like this."
the other good part was when they tell the klingons why they need them, And they burst into laughter. not aonly appealing to their honor but providing a Funny story to tell others later is a good way to make them happy.
As I recall, the special effects department didn’t have the period Klingon ship model ready and they used the one they had available, the K’tinga. I think I heard they corrected the ship in later showings. Edit: the model the didn't have ready was for the D-4. I'd link to the wiki but TH-cam doesn't like links.
D-5 was the ship that wasn't ready. The D-4 was a Bird-of-Prey used in Star Trek:Into Darkness.
I don't know that ship looks very much like a D-7, that would not come of the assembly lines for what? Another 20 or 30 years during the Axanar period
@@develynseether4426 into darkness is the kelvan timeline
"Star Trek: The Magazine the issue with the battlecruiser in "Unexpected" was explained: "As Rob (Bonchune) explains, John Eaves had designed a new Klingon ship specifically for this scene. 'It was kind of the same shape as the original Klingon battle cruiser; just a little more primitive. The way John had done it was very much like the original series one, so it had very few windows, and they were small and red. So, when I dropped the ship into the scenes that we had worked out, you couldn't see that it had windows. At the time, it never dawned on me that this would be an issue, but I understand why it is, because in STAR TREK if there are windows they are obvious.' The producers saw the model only a few working hours before the show was due to be delivered. They decided it could only be used with major changes, but after their work on Broken Bow the team was simply too exhausted to work through the night in a desperate attempt to get the shots ready. Instead, the producers made the decision to use an old model. 'We wound up going back to a version of the Klingon ship that had been built for DEEP SPACE NINE,' Mitch (Suskin) says. 'But that particular type of Klingon ship will not be used again, because they decided that it just didn't fit into their vision for this universe.' Rob admits that, he for one, is sorry the old ship was used, but acknowledges there was no alternative. 'As a fan I really regret that that ship is in there, but people were just working too much. After Broken Bow, everyone had already worked so much overtime'."

About Trips gestation location. I remember reading a Reiki book some 12yrs back that people’s used this pressure point against swine flu approx 40yrs ago to prevent cardiac failure that might’ve resulted in death. I can’t remember the pressure points name off hand, but I believe similar in location to LL electrode placement for heart monitoring. Approx 3” up from the bottom attached rib & 3” in from the inside of the costal cartilage. There’s a couple of nodules held for 30s that’s supposed to be beneficial 🤷🏼 Just good FYI.
