I've gotten some questions recently about where I get my wiring diagrams when working on my vehicles. Over the years, I've had some good success with the following sources: Mitchell1 DIY - bit.ly/3On1xiK Pre-owned Manufacturer Shop Manuals (eBay) - ebay.us/vJlarO Hope this helps.
My 2015 F350 work truck with all my tools was broken into last night. I'm following your video and installing a kill switch today. Great video! Thank you for posting!
i would add that kill switch to the starter signal wire which is a ignition only just because most fords have a external solenoid which cold possibly be used from under hood just splice into that wire from external solenoid or the starter relay
Bro, great work! One question. Where can I get wire diagrams from? And furthermore, specific wire diagrams like the one in this excellent video you've made.
I purchased a set of Ford Factory Shop manuals for my vehicles. That's where I got my wiring diagrams. You can pick them up new or used on eBay. Here are few links showing what I'm referring to: Shop Manual & Wiring Diagrams (Softback) - ebay.us/IB6F3p Shop Manual & Wiring Diagrams (DVD) - ebay.us/3dFz9B Hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by the channel!
i fill like if i just wire a toggle to the constant and the other one, then that solves my problems. one kills the power to the instruments and overall power when key is on. and the other kills the battery power, cause right now you can start my truck with anything no key needed.
Thanks for stopping by the channel. Glad you enjoyed the video! I'm good with either the starter relay or fuel pump. I know some folks prefer the fuel pump because they want the starter to still turn over to create a crank-no start condition. Either way works fine for me. What type of vehicle do you have? I'll take a look at the fuel pump circuit for you. Wiring diagrams came from the Ford Service manuals. I picked up a disk on eBay several years ago. Here's a link if you're interested: ebay.us/Xtwkh7
@daddydiy7997 I have a 2018 Ford Explorer. I started down the path of doing the starter, but then I saw some cat drove a vehicle for 3 weeks without shutting off the vehicle because he felt there might be a kill switch... which there was, but it didn't employ until the engine had to be started.
Wow! They must have stole the car while it was running. If so, doesn’t really matter if the kill switch is on the stater relay or fuel pump. They can still drive off with the vehicle. Unless, you activated the kill switch to the fuel pump before they stole the vehicle or activated it remotely.
I NEED HELP. when i try and turn my car off, it does not go off, but if i pull the 50 amp fuse, it cuts off, BUT it is still drawing power and drains the battery. I cant afford a whole new ignition system cause its not just the tumbler that broke. SO I NEED TO WIRE two toggles i have, one to disconnect power, and one kill the engine. i need a wire diagram to tap into those wire, and run the switches. but i cant FIND ANYTHING...and no one is 100% clear. 1996 ford ranger
It looks like that ranger uses the same ignition switch as the one in the video. You can follow the steps in the video to check and see if that 2002 ranger uses the same wire color.

Well explain 👏🏽
Glad you liked it!
Great video! Wish you had done it for the fuel pump instead of the starter relay... what's your preference?
Where did you get the wire diagram?

@daddydiy7997 no, it was rented to the person. In the end, he didn't want to return it, so he didn't shut it off.
@daddydiy7997 I added on to the fuel pump, and the car shut down shut 15 seconds later
Good video.
Thanks!

Excuse me, do you know where and what cable is it for a ford ranger 2002 ?
