Those kill switches work like a charm. Went to my friends house for a party and drove my '68 camaro. Flipped the switch and got drunk. Woke up the next morning and was about to leave until my car wouldn't turn over. I tried turning it over like 6 times till I gave up. Freaked out, had a beer, and then realized I had a kill switch in my car lol
I prefer the transmission. I go under the car each time i go to the grocery store and take out all the gears and put them in a carrying case over my shoulder. Go in get some milk, and just pop them back in when i'm ready to leave.
I remember watching this guy as a kid. He really inspired me to go out there and and break out of your comfort zone. thanks fella. I feel like I should have been a junkie because this life long car habit was waaaaaaayyyyyyy more expensive! I lost track of Stacy after he left the power block. It’s great to see he’s still going!
My friend had a dizzy switch on his car, the thieves wanted his car so bad, they pushed it a 1/2 mile down the street before a cop on patrol saw them and they took off. It was 3 in the morning when he got that knock on the door. He went down to the car, flip the switch and drove it home.
the scary part is after the fact.. will they come again with a tow truck? when? they know where you live now.. i had my car broken into.. well not really, I was so so tired that i accidentally left the door slightly cracked open.. they got inside and stole my wallet.. lol lesson learned, i felt bad for them though.. they went to ross and bought 300 worth of clothes.. i was like wow.. bank of america got me back my money though!! but ever since then i have to admit im a bit paranoid.. they know where i live.. its a scary feeling man..
I've always dreamed of having a security system that locks the doors, traps them inside the vehicle, and calls me and the police. Then plays Justin Bieber, on the stereo, as loud as possible until I hit the reset code on my cell phone.
killersushi99 they can just use one of the other fuses that is for say your stereo and slap it in there. It'd be better to just flip it around and stick it back in
To add to insult get the pedal version of the club along with the club and add a note saying, you aint stealing me bitch, go get a fucking job you worthless sack of shit! Followed by a HAHAHA!
I purchased a car from a guy who installed a kill switch under the dash of the car. He never told me and I didnt know until I hit it with my knee and it killed the car. Even then I had no clue I hit the switch by accident. To me and my father about an hour on the side of the road in the dark to find it. Thanks dad.
a few tips for you guys worried about tow trucks. if you park on a driveway turn your wheels towards another object, a wall or car. make sure it will hit if they try to drag it out. the other thing is: if your car is a front wheel drive, park it inwards and use tip #1. if they try to drag it out your car will smash into another object or they will just give up because it requires alot of time. if it's rear wheel drive i would say back it in. the car will be dragging and slowing them down, i would still try tip #1 but it doesn't really make a difference when they pick up the front wheels. my car is a rear wheel drive and my steering does not lock, if they pick it up from the back they are good to go. in my case i park it in reverse and i got a 2 way alarm with shock sensors and tilt sensors, if my car is lifted i will know about it immediately. not only that but my car won't go into drive without me messing with it hahaha.

Pretty much every thing here is for older cars, newer cars have electronic kill switches and installing any of these maybe just be redundant and not needed. no love for the battery disconnect thing as it will make my car re-learn its fuel management process everytime and cost money and performance. the best way is to put some old grenade that you have lying around , and rig it so that that when a thief opens the door, the grenade will fall on the seat and blow the thief to mars. I use 3 tricks, they don't work on a topless car but everything else they work. 1) remember the old Club wheel lock, I have one on my wheel (you don't even have to lock it) most thieves would see it and move on, it would take too long to cut loose and you can't drive with it on. 2) for tow truck using thieves, crank your wheel to 1 side, all the way to its stop then make sure the wheel locks when you go to leave. It's hard to pick the front up and now impossible to pull from behind because it will swing out the whole way to wherever they go. 3) hand/emergency brake. set it so even if they get it up on a truck it's going to make loads of noise and the only way to disable it is to cut the line or get into the car, both take time they don't have. a friend of mine took a switch and a tilt sensor from a pinball machine and rigged it so when he parks, he flips the switch and whenever the tilt sensor makes contact the horn, dome lights, and brights come on, we tested it, you can't accelerate with traffic at all or corner without this thing screaming
That might not work. I left my python in my Hummer once and that didnt stop a guy that couldn't talk, accompanied by a short black guy in sunglasses, from driving off with it.
I've seen one guy use a double throw switch to interrupt the power to the starter motor and send it to a second hidden horn (experienced car thieves may cut the factory horn before breaking in). His ride has never been stolen but I'm sure it'll give someone quite a surprise if they try. The switch is momentary so it has to be pressed and held while starting the car, once the car is started it can be released.
I know this is an old video but several of the things you suggest are a bad idea on a fuel injected car. 1.The fuel line tap, down right dangerous. Most injection systems use a pressure regulator at the engine. If you close the fuel line before that regulator you will end up with the full pressure the pump is capable of, sometimes upwards of 120 PSI, between the tap and the pump. This could easily blow off a fuel line and spray fuel everywhere not to mention it puts an extremely high load on the pump. 2. Battery quick disconnect. Many car computers have a memory for idle speed, fuel map, transmission shift points and more..This means a relearn every time you disconnect the battery. Airbag systems may not function and bring the SRS light on until the computer is reset by a scan tool. Many other potential issues, even potential to destroy a computer. 3. Battery disconnect solenoid. Same as 2 above. What I do is put a switch in the control circuit of the fuel pump relay. A bit harder for the DIYer but far safer and harder for the crooks to detect. Otherwise pay the money for a good alarm and GPS tracker.
I've got 3 different anti-theft mechanisms on my truck. 1) its a manual. 2) its got a fuel switch that I've hid, when it's off, the vehicle gets no fuel. 3) I've got a starter switch that I also hid, when it's off, the starter doesn't even turn over even if the thief hot wired my truck. When I park my truck in a parking lot or something, I usually only use the fuel switch, but if I'm parking at my house over night or in the storage, I use both switches.
As several tips experts say to keep thieves from making off with a vehicle as the top tip is to go into the underhood fuse panel and pull the fuses for the ECM and or fuel pump when there is tips to put a hidden kill switch and or a valve in a section of the fuel line making thieves go on to easier targets.
I appreciate the information. I shop in a town call Chula Vista about 6 miles from the Mexican border. There is a shopping mall there that has more cars stolen from it than any other Shopping Center in the country. I usually take the battery cable off the battery. The problem with that, is car thieves see you underneath your car's hood they have a good idea of what you're doing. the distributor switching was what I was interested in, possibly two switches in the same line in different places. Again thank you for the video.
A great one is buy a car with a manual trans. Most folks today do not know how to drive them. But, seriously, in my antique show cars, I used the cigar lighter. Wired up to the coil, push it in, start the car, with it removed or in the popout mode, no start. Simple, but effective.
Unless you find your car all totaled in a ditch or maybe already cut up by a chop shop.... Or in the least when they ragged out your ride, that isn't funny and well don't hold your breath waiting for compensation.
Thieves now rip the trackers off vehicles right after they steal them. They must have electronic detectors to find them. Who said they weren’t sophisticated.
I have a starter kill in mine. I found the wire to the ignition, cut it and put one of the guitar plugs into it. only way to start the car is to put the guitar jack in. I know this explanation sucks but I tried.
There is at least one mistake here right in the beginning of this video- thieves are not people, they are animals at best. If we become willing to treat thieves as animals and punish them accordingly, we will substantially lower the theft rate.
You can by a gps tracker and hide it in some pretty clever places. Alot of car dealers use these. You can track it and bring the police with you. Especially great for motorcycles
Good ideas for vehicles that don't get used often or for vehicles that might be left while you are on vacation. Sounds like it could be good for service vehicles or for construction equipment .
Sucks but no matter what you do, if someone wants your car bad enough, they'll find a way to take it. After seeing that several Hellcats have already been stolen, that just pretty much tells you nothing will stop them. Besides bullets, that is....
That's not true..?..My hell Cat..Would have been stolen 4 Times already at the Mall parking lot..The Battery & NO gas switch Works...I leave the door Unlocked So they don't break The Window..I Designed My Own..Seat Caddy...Its Welded in on the floor and HANGS OVER THE CONSOKE..& Reinforced..FROM UNDER THE CAR..THE device ?? keeps you from sitting in THE ( Drivers Seat )...The last Time The Same Guy came..I had the police waiting on him..This guy brought a Hammer..Saw..and a Crowbar...He was in the car for 15Mins..I HIT THE REMOTE AND TURNED THE CAR ON..AND HAD THE STEREO BLASTING..HE CUT HIS HAND..TRYING TO TEAR OUT OFF THERE..NOBODY ELSE HAS TRIED...ITS BEEN 4YRS NOW..SAME PARKING SPOT AT THE MALL..🤔.."
True. had alarm, keyless entry, kill switch and lock on the peddle, came out of work and car was gone. Im thinking tow truck. It was found 2 weeks later stripped on the side of road
Place the 110dB Screecher for the Car Alarm INSIDE the vehicle, hide it where the 'normal' audio speakers are fitted, and wire this to the ignition - via a hidden switch. Or better still - two of these - one for each ear of the thief! Try this. It really works. Just don't forget to turn the Screecher off yourself before driving!!
One of the most simple things to do is to take the fuse out to the fuel pump or crank fuse, and just lock your glove box. Also put on the Autolock Theft Pro and they can't shift your car out of gear because they can't depress the brake pedal. Get a pager alarm. Besides that if they want your cat bad enough they will tow it or jack you for it.
Disconnecting the crankshaft position sensor will disable the fuel pump, engine will still crank but will never fire up. Another good one is to install a hidden GPS box...
Fuel Pump Power cutoff with SPST. This lead is available at the rollover cutoff which is conveniently located in the cabin, mostly on the passenger A-Pillar or kick panel . The thief car try to start up but without fuel, no go. Our area in Canada has just seen a big spike in high end Lexus/Mercedes theft for 'container export'. Theives are now using the KeyFob Repeating Amplifier trick to unlock and (keyless/proximity) start and drive away.
Much better than the "dizzy switch" is to connect a wire to the same wire being cut with the dizzy switch (between distributor and coil), at the negative side of coil. Then run the wire to the driver area and connect to ground, with a switch inline. Then when you flip the switch, the points permanently ground out. But this only works with older cars with points and condenser ignition. Even better is to configure a similar circuit using a relay such that this circuit gets actuated automatically when the key is turned off. Then a push button near the driver is used to activate the circuit, and released after the car starts. Too difficult to describe the circuit in words, but with the info I described you can figure it out if you have a good understanding of basic electrical. Also to help you figure out the circuit, a diode will be needed too.
If it is one less scumbag cartheif in the world, I think it's probably worth the price of a few cars. *Maniacal Laughter* But in all honesty I think a flashbang would be coolest. Temporarily blind and deafen the poor soab.
+vis atrade Hope you don't live in NYC. Here in NYC, there is pretty much nothing you can do to protect yourself from criminals/thieves/home invaders. At least you can protect yourself and your property in the Southern states.
My truck was stolen by a tow truck. The thing I've learned is all you can do is buy a really good alarm with a pager with a long distance range. That way as soon as something is being touched, whether hot wired or towed you'll get a notification...
None of this protects against a tow truck. The only way you can have a thief proof car is to put Thor's hammer in your trunk. But of course then you wouldn't be able to drive the car and Thor could steal your car.
+mkygod a friend of mine have been putting a wheel boot on his acura integra if he was parking in public places. he was even on the chicago news. type in google Chicago Driver Gives Himself The Boot To Guard Against Car Thieves
mkygod It depends I suppose. It prevented my cousin from his car being permanently stolen. Someone drove it without consent; he gave the authorities the GPS info and they pulled the thief over and returned his car the same day. Just gotta be smart.
A dizzy switch is a great way, two of my cars have them, the one car has 3 of them, the other one has 2 of them. The other way is a line lock, drag racers know what I am talking about, you can set it up for all 4 tires, this will help stop a tow truck from taking it, as they would need a carry truck and still the tires would be locked up. Another way is to hook up an alarm to the lights, ANY LIGHT that goes on sets off my alarm, trunk, hood, door, brake light, any light. I had a fried who would only put enough gas in his truck to get where he was going all the time, used to piss me off, each time he got into his truck he had to stop and get gas, a fuel cut off can be mounted inside the car, my dad's truck had one, the good thing about these are the car runs out of gas leaving them stranded on the side of the road or in the intersection, NOT a place they want to be, so they just run away. Just some ideas for you, a stick shift will stop any young person, sad but true.
Modern cars need a period of time in order to shut down the drain on the battery. For anywhere from 10-30 minutes, there is a drain on the battery as the various power-consuming components are shut down (and there is always some drain as well, clocks, information systems, etc. If you installed a battery cut off and shut the power down before this shut down time, would that not mess up the car computer, not to mention the clock always being wrong, your radio having to be reprogrammed, etc?
lol, an Immobilizer isn't going to stop every thief The idea here is to add more security your comment is as valid as saying "cars have had steering wheel locks for decades why do we need this"
Some good ideas there! I already have a coil switch (to ground) but want to fit electronic ignition, so obviously cannot use this method anymore or I'll burn out the electronic module on the points. Can I switch the live supply wire BEFORE it gets to the to the coil instead..?
When I had my 78 vett, I unplugged the distributor coil wire, swapped it with the tac wire and unplugged the alternator.Even if they got it started, chances are they wouldn't get far because of the battery going flat. That and the carb bowl leaked, so you had to know how to start the car because it was easy to flood.
Well it's more about survival. If you live in the ghettos or in the slums then it's pointless to own a flashy car that'll attract unwanted attention. It's like wearing a dress with makeup in a prison: If you're going to attract attention to yourself then you better be prepared to deal with all the rape that comes with it.
Yep. Something that stands out. I left the keys in the ignition (unlocked) on my Lancia for like 3 hours of class. Came back, it was just sitting there no one touched it.
I installed a dizzy switch but I had 4 of them mounted in a way that I had to move one down the next one up then the other two down. The car wouldn't start until the switch pattern was correct. They were installed under my radio. Looked like an airplane cockpit. Kind of cheesy but I liked it.
Martin Espinoza the GPS could show you where their warehouse is so when the cops bust in there and find 100+ stolen cars the thieves are gonna' get their asses sued by 100+ angry people who want their cars/money back.
I got my radio stolen a few weeks back. I have always wanted a corvette...and even if I have the money to get one...I'll never have the desire to have one because of people stealing nice cars that people work hard to buy. My radio wasn't even anything expensive. They might get 40 bucks. To think of myself having a nice car, then it just being demolished or stolen makes my faith in all of humanity die.
AlexJC , my faith in humanity has been lost for many years. We tolerate thieves, and millions of people are more concerned about the well being of thugs than ours. I would execute all thieves.
Sad but true. If a thief steals your car and you shoot him, you'll be charged as a criminal. He'll probably get a slap on the wrist and released to do it again while you're serving time for protecting what you work for.
I thought my S430 was theft proof until last December when some overly determined idiot thought it would be a good idea to literally drag my car away with a tow truck. I got it back right away though with $27k in damages to my wheels, axles and air ride etc. They never did get inside or under the hood or anything off the car though. Thanks to my bullet resistant glass, reinforced steel firewalls/carriage, run flats, battery was disconnect etc. They did get caught and was pretty frustrated over the whole ordeal..I noticed it missing right away they left drag marks...lmao She is so beautiful they just couldn't help themselves..hahaha
what?1 a quick release wheel in an integra/civic?! my word do the people know of this this? i feel like this could be very popular. just messin with ya man no harm ment
i have a quick release as well, but i know that determined thieves carry steering wheels with them, and if you have a hub lock, it can be picked very fast!
The problem with the disconnect cable. All the things you programmed. Seat positions, radio, settings. And the OBD2 settings will be off until you drive enough miles and start/stop cycles to reprogram the car.
my dad's truck got stolen before he went to work The truck itself has a faulty electrical wiring issue where the gauges will not come up when you turn the truck to the run position, it's either pressing the reset button on the cluster or hit the top of the dash. Greatest anti-theft system ever! It was a day later the cops saw the truck, and let him know out on the jobsite, and I took him to the hotel to get his truck back.
2006 F350 diesel stolen from a "secured" storage lot in Edmonton, Canada. Had a Club on the steering wheel and motorcycle chained to the hitch. The Club was said to have been broken and the hitch was damaged to get the kryptonite lock and chain off while still locked around the bike frame. Has not yet been recovered. It had some kind of immobilizer, but I'd only had the truck a few days and wasn't familiar with how to set it.
blackness010 just put a small fused wire from the live to the battery lead, your radio maintains its settings, anybody tries anything and the fuse blows
I have an old 5.0 Mustang. One of the good things about Fords is that the distributor is up front. Pop the cap and take out the rotor, engine will spin but won't start. I've been doing this for years.
I just remove my pistons when parking. Job done, Quick and easy. If parking for a longer period, make sure to remove the engine, gearbox, wheels, drive shaft and seats. Let's see a thief trying to drive a frame.
Will that ''Battery-Disconnect'' work for vehicles that stay parked for long periods of time; i.e., will it prevent the Battery from losing power --- I seen that you had the 'Disconnect' connected to the "Ground" side, while leaving the ''Positive'' side connected?
Don't know why this found my feed 10 years late, but easiest way I know is an old fashion ignition kill switch. I like to use a cigarette lighter or other existing but unused dash button. No one is going to expect your unused seat warmer button to be the key to starting a vehicle.
Any flashing light in the car with a switch makes them think your alarmed...worked for me... Steering locks are bad as they use them as leverage to break your integral steering lock them they hacksaw the steering wheel... Leave the glove box open its a declaration of empty & puts sat nav thieves off. Get your wife to box your car in if you have a drive so her car blocks it.. Window battery operated alarms just use a magnet & sensor there tiny & easy to fit they are not part of the cars power & can be stuck under the drivers door or seatbelt anywhere that they move something it goes off loud.
Those kill switches work like a charm. Went to my friends house for a party and drove my '68 camaro. Flipped the switch and got drunk. Woke up the next morning and was about to leave until my car wouldn't turn over. I tried turning it over like 6 times till I gave up. Freaked out, had a beer, and then realized I had a kill switch in my car lol
lmffao damm that kill switch is reliable hahah
its was the beer that made you realize ha
Maybe dont drive when youre drunk , idiot?
Could still be over the limit.
Lol how many amp switch did you use?
Simple just get a baby blue Prius.....Even thieves have standards....
+ Not true. They still take the tires!
+Austin Unruh yeah they will get that
in case you didn't know... Thieves have gotten smarter & steal the Prius for it's battery pack coz it's a hearty profit for them.
ラマイレヅピタ thank you for the comment buddy
+Armedlegally I steal Prius' for drag racing
I take my engine out, When I park and walk with it
Raul Serrano 😂😂😂😂😂
lmfao
😂😂
Raul Serrano ..you drive a rx7 don't you
I prefer the transmission. I go under the car each time i go to the grocery store and take out all the gears and put them in a carrying case over my shoulder. Go in get some milk, and just pop them back in when i'm ready to leave.

In the US just drive a manual and it will not get stolen!
+wizardnil =))
+Zimas its sadly true!
Unless it's a wrx or something like that then it's the other way around
+Chris L that's why thieves never rob Imprezas
Yup.
Fuel cut off switch is what I use. Sometimes I forget to switch it back on and make it a half mile down the road then the truck dies. lol.
Horatio Huffnagel yep ive started my truck and started to back up and then it died i was confused
Horatio Huffnagel 😂😂😂
Take the crankshaft out while you're at it just to make sure no one steals it.
lol
I have had 4 cars stolen from me Its no fun. i now put kill in all my cars
LMAO. :)
Taking the crankshaft out? That's a great idea! Anything helps!
I also laughed out loud at this one. But I'll start doing it at once!
My friend had a dizzy switch on his car, the thieves wanted his car so bad, they pushed it a 1/2 mile down the street before a cop on patrol saw them and they took off. It was 3 in the morning when he got that knock on the door. He went down to the car, flip the switch and drove it home.
wow crazy storie its a shame theres people like that....so all I need is to put a switch nd no relays?
my car is stored at the bottom of a big hill! just saying 👍
google "relay" that will answer your question +vinvente
the scary part is after the fact.. will they come again with a tow truck? when? they know where you live now.. i had my car broken into.. well not really, I was so so tired that i accidentally left the door slightly cracked open.. they got inside and stole my wallet.. lol lesson learned, i felt bad for them though.. they went to ross and bought 300 worth of clothes.. i was like wow.. bank of america got me back my money though!! but ever since then i have to admit im a bit paranoid.. they know where i live.. its a scary feeling man..
😂😂😂
I've always dreamed of having a security system that locks the doors, traps them inside the vehicle, and calls me and the police. Then plays Justin Bieber, on the stereo, as loud as possible until I hit the reset code on my cell phone.
DAmnit lol!!! u got some imagination... that is a real badass torture there!!! hahahhaha
Capt Trdl...yeah that will stop those Neanderthals!
Jimmy Parris I would rather have it blast some death metal rather than Justin Bieber.
Neah it should play hanson instead LOL,.
Jimmy Parris Play Ashley Simpson
In Chicago none of these will work since they use tow trucks.
Guess what city I'm not taking my expensive to...
in that case i guess airbags to drop it to the floor will do.
sad but true
Chain your car to the nearest streetlight.
chris Hello y
OR. Pull out ignition fuse cause im a cheap bastard.
killersushi99 they can just use one of the other fuses that is for say your stereo and slap it in there. It'd be better to just flip it around and stick it back in
Create a kill switch and hide it somewhere.
On the newer cars there's a fuse for the electric fuel pump.
I am thinking that A relay would be better than a fuse, they are far less likely to have the ignition for fuel pump relay on hand.
Number 1 way to prevent car theft: Drive a car nobody wants to steal.
To add to insult get the pedal version of the club along with the club and add a note saying, you aint stealing me bitch, go get a fucking job you worthless sack of shit! Followed by a HAHAHA!
so.. drive a PT Cruiser? lol
Jack Duno
#1 - don't own a car.
***** It's all well and fine until the original owner steals it back from you
R Mac Only way you're getting a stolen Ford home is via tow truck.
Because it's probably already broken
Stacy back in business. A 10yr old video surfaces after I purchase a couple faraday pouches for my key fob. Gotta love the Matrix. STACY IS AWESOME!
That is awesome!
I purchased a car from a guy who installed a kill switch under the dash of the car. He never told me and I didnt know until I hit it with my knee and it killed the car. Even then I had no clue I hit the switch by accident. To me and my father about an hour on the side of the road in the dark to find it. Thanks dad.
I used to watch the show on Speed tv over 10 years ago. Glad to see your channel pop up!

John Doe what alarm do you have?
viper alarm. you can ad stuff to it. i added the tilt sensors to the alarm.
what model do you have? and that's sweet
i don't remember the model number but it comes with 2 remotes, 1 is an lcd 2 way pager and the other is just buttons. it comes with shock sensors and remote start. you can add other features to the alarm like tilt sensors, turning on stereo remotely, rolling windows up and down, glass shatter detector, proximity detector and a module to track your car and get notifications on your smart phone.

I've been trying to get a quote on a viper system but those assholes won't respond to me with a quote
Screwg oogle dude you can go to Best Buy for that!
Another one to mention is a quick release steering-wheel. And if you want to go even further to make it harder for them to use the 'old grips steering method NRG and other companies sell lock-offs for their quick releases.
You make more since than any of it.
man I used to watch you 10 years ago like your videos keep up the good work!!!
One of the best car shows if not the best thanks for the tips
Thanks!
no love for the battery disconnect thing as it will make my car re-learn its fuel management process everytime and cost money and performance.
the best way is to put some old grenade that you have lying around , and rig it so that that when a thief opens the door, the grenade will fall on the seat and blow the thief to mars.
I call it the Grenalarm.
but wait
if the grenade falls on the seat
wouldn't the car be in burning pieces?
It'll buff out.
It looks like you are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Don't you want to keep your car?
Ll Lock and your car....my God are all of you fucking morons?
That's a myth. Any car ECU will quickly re calibrate parameters by its self.
I just leave my alligator in the driver seat
That might not work. I left my python in my Hummer once and that didnt stop a guy that couldn't talk, accompanied by a short black guy in sunglasses, from driving off with it.
racequad9, would you say it was gone in 60 seconds
Never depend on a python to do an alligator's job.
@@racequad9 lol i love that movie
I just put a picture of my wife in the window.
lol
greasemonger29 lol
greasemonger29 😭😭😭😭
LOL I bet a picture of her mother would do better.... LOL
Lmfbo !
I know this is an old comment but I think this mostly applies to classic cars that don't have modern locks or computers.
It's Chula Juana, what can you do.
A great one is buy a car with a manual trans. Most folks today do not know how to drive them. But, seriously, in my antique show cars, I used the cigar lighter. Wired up to the coil, push it in, start the car, with it removed or in the popout mode, no start. Simple, but effective.
Just hide a gps tracker, then show up with the sheriff and laugh your ass off.
Makes perfect sense.
One of the Robocop films had a better solution, stop the thief dead.
You guys are all wrong.
Just steal your own car.
Case closed.
My anti-theft device came with the truck. Nobody bothers to learn to drive a stick any more.
+5610winston
Why not a lock on the stick??The thief can start the car,but cant drive!Just a bolt and nut, nobody has a tool for..Except you!
Funny I keep reading that same comment everywhere so apparently some people know
I've watched quite a few videos on this subject and I like the distributor wire to the coil wire toggle switch setup cool
An "Insured by Smith & Wesson " sticker is a good deterrent.
i have that dame aticker but its barretta
Very nice.
Ricky McClain right, that's what I was thinking
Customwinder 1 those steering bars
Lol, so the baretta's gonna shoot'em if they don't need your sign? Think about it.
Unplug the battery every time, so you have to reset the clock, radio stations, avg mpg, etc... very convenient.
Thanks for the video. Now i’ll know what to look out for when stealing vehicles.
Good ideas. I think the best idea would be to put a switch in the control wire for the starting circuit.
@Hello Mark how are you doing?
Fuel Pump Power cutoff with SPST. This lead is available at the rollover cutoff which is conveniently located in the cabin, mostly on the passenger A-Pillar or kick panel . The thief car try to start up but without fuel, no go. Our area in Canada has just seen a big spike in high end Lexus/Mercedes theft for 'container export'. Theives are now using the KeyFob Repeating Amplifier trick to unlock and (keyless/proximity) start and drive away.
This dude looks like Scotty Kilmer younger version...
Clever. Forgot about this. Used to watch this all the time in highschool. Trucks and 2 guys garage lol.
I actually liked 2 guys garage even if it was a little dry. And their show before it was 2 guys garage was Shade tree Mechanic.
Drive a stick....
that only works in America, in Europe everyone's drives stick
so true.
Robert E Lee majority of cars in America are automatic, majority of people only know how to drive automatic
+Chris Rugar Just had my manual stolen a couple days ago in America so...
Chris Rugar had to trade my stick for an automatic and someone already tried to steal my car 2 weeks after getting it
Much better than the "dizzy switch" is to connect a wire to the same wire being cut with the dizzy switch (between distributor and coil), at the negative side of coil.
I had my Z28 hooked up by a tow truck in Anaheim, California never seen again.
That's what you get for not researching your towing company dumbass
maybe Obama towed it for cash for clunkers.
***** Yes
Myles Siglin Myles? I know you! Hey that sucks dude.
Sam B class of '81, btw.
Thank you for the tips. I am definitely going to install it.thank you again so very much.your show is amazing!keep up the amazing work!
Is it illegal to install a claymore or makeshift grenade under the driver seat? What about smoke grenade? flashbang?
just say it was there when you bought the car and deny all responsibility! ✌
vis atrade lmao love the idea but dude a claymore? your gonna blow us all up
If it is one less scumbag cartheif in the world, I think it's probably worth the price of a few cars.
Have been pulling that distributer coil for years now. Best thing ever.
I just keep a bee hive in my cab and a bee suit in my backpack with me. Works great.
If you have extra lights add a switch for a battery kill or stater kill. I did this on my 86 blazer and it worked awesome
hopefully no thieves were watching this.
Why? You get to pick where to hide the switch.
you can have all of them and multiple of the same one just to piss them off even if they do find one
dave091790 true I suppose, but I'm just paranoid of the off chance the thief finding it.
Big Bick yeah just piss the thief off so he gives up, Haha
It doesn't matter : thieves are lazy, they just steal what is the easiest. Your car is not that special, they just steal another one ..
+mkygod GPS lowjack. Will track the vehicle if it moves and alert you on a phone app if it moves.
+mkygod a friend of mine have been putting a wheel boot on his acura integra if he was parking in public places. he was even on the chicago news. type in google Chicago Driver Gives Himself The Boot To Guard Against Car Thieves
AmnScottNN I have lowjack on my car. Lowjack only helps with recovering a car. It doesn't do anything to prevent someone from stealing it.
mkygod It depends I suppose. It prevented my cousin from his car being permanently stolen. Someone drove it without consent; he gave the authorities the GPS info and they pulled the thief over and returned his car the same day. Just gotta be smart.
If Thor's hammer can't be lifted by those unworthy; how was is stolen by the frost giant Thrym?
you can also place inline switch through fuel pump circuit, since majority of cars have them on their own fuse.
I just take my aftermarket steering wheel off and strap it to my backpack. Tuners are nice that way.
:D
This vehicle is protected by a USMC sniper.
I like the trunk monkey theft prevention mod
Modern cars need a period of time in order to shut down the drain on the battery. For anywhere from 10-30 minutes, there is a drain on the battery as the various power-consuming components are shut down (and there is always some drain as well, clocks, information systems, etc. If you installed a battery cut off and shut the power down before this shut down time, would that not mess up the car computer, not to mention the clock always being wrong, your radio having to be reprogrammed, etc?
yes, a battery cut off will do that
lol, an Immobilizer isn't going to stop every thief
The idea here is to add more security
your comment is as valid as saying "cars have had steering wheel locks for decades why do we need this"
***** hey dude i will show you how to start it no matter what you put on it.
Depends. Some cut off are designed so you can wire in your radio and clock back into them
Some good ideas there! I already have a coil switch (to ground) but want to fit electronic ignition, so obviously cannot use this method anymore or I'll burn out the electronic module on the points. Can I switch the live supply wire BEFORE it gets to the to the coil instead..?
can't stop looking at his wig
1980 is calling Stacey.
Own something that no one will ever want to steal. That's how you stop your car from being stolen.
why should I have to sacrifice driving experience for scum bag people.
Works every time!
So, how long have you owned your Yugo?
Put a baby tote in rear seat, drape a diaper over the edge, and put chocolate smudge on the diaper. Made the smudge very visible.
Interesting.
What happens when you want to use the buggy? Are you going to pop the hood and reinsert a good fuse each time you want to go somewhere?
well hidden gps tracker would be a good way to retrieve your car if the thieves use a tow truck.
sadly, it will be stripped before the cops get around to sending someone after it. unless you've got a posse, it won't help you
Martin Espinoza the GPS could show you where their warehouse is
so when the cops bust in there and find 100+ stolen cars
the thieves are gonna' get their asses sued by 100+ angry people who want their cars/money back.
gps trackers can be jammed too, for me, few kill switches along with alarm installed by yourself or installer, tracker and good insurance.
Of all the car shows on Tv I miss your show the most
I got my radio stolen a few weeks back.
I keep a 150 lb. wolf hybrid in the truck! I have never had theft problems at home or anywhere else I go!
They did get caught and was pretty frustrated over the whole ordeal..I noticed it missing right away they left drag marks...lmao She is so beautiful they just couldn't help themselves..hahaha
i hope they drop the soap.
Dang what kind of car do you have?
WackoKillerDan mercedes s430 he said
***** Show me your proof.
razerxrob "HE" is a "SHE" lol
quick release steering wheel works good too! thats how i protect my integra
what?1 a quick release wheel in an integra/civic?! my word do the people know of this this? i feel like this could be very popular. just messin with ya man no harm ment
Vise grip steering wheel?
not with the other side of the quick release still on the car
i have a quick release as well, but i know that determined thieves carry steering wheels with them, and if you have a hub lock, it can be picked very fast!
Wow, who knew Professor Snape gave car theft advice?
lol
You would think since Proffessor snape protects against the dark arts
The problem with the disconnect cable. All the things you programmed. Seat positions, radio, settings. And the OBD2 settings will be off until you drive enough miles and start/stop cycles to reprogram the car.
Shout out to all the car thiefs watching this video that now know everything
my dad's truck got stolen before he went to work
The truck itself has a faulty electrical wiring issue where the gauges will not come up when you turn the truck to the run position, it's either pressing the reset button on the cluster or hit the top of the dash. Greatest anti-theft system ever! It was a day later the cops saw the truck, and let him know out on the jobsite, and I took him to the hotel to get his truck back.
This is great advice for 30 year old cars 😂
2006 F350 diesel stolen from a "secured" storage lot in Edmonton, Canada. Had a Club on the steering wheel and motorcycle chained to the hitch. The Club was said to have been broken and the hitch was damaged to get the kryptonite lock and chain off while still locked around the bike frame. Has not yet been recovered. It had some kind of immobilizer, but I'd only had the truck a few days and wasn't familiar with how to set it.
also your radios resets every fuckin time. i just remove the engine and put it back later.
blackness010 just put a small fused wire from the live to the battery lead, your radio maintains its settings, anybody tries anything and the fuse blows
I love these videos from the 80s!
remove engine and gearbox and the wheels it's a no brainer
just remove the car, no car no theft
mr cynical don't comment a brainless comment. its a no brainer.
Slam it to the ground with air bags
Will that ''Battery-Disconnect'' work for vehicles that stay parked for long periods of time; i.e., will it prevent the Battery from losing power --- I seen that you had the 'Disconnect' connected to the "Ground" side, while leaving the ''Positive'' side connected?
I drive a stolen car so I'm safe. It's already been stolen.
Don't know why this found my feed 10 years late, but easiest way I know is an old fashion ignition kill switch. I like to use a cigarette lighter or other existing but unused dash button. No one is going to expect your unused seat warmer button to be the key to starting a vehicle.
that haircut...like a disco helmet...
For a summer car I had I wired the power for the pcm through the defrost switch. Nobody would ever think of that.
i leave a manican in the car so it looks like im in there 24/7
Make sure the battery disconnect does not kill your key actuated door locking and opening and starting program.
I use a switch to my electric fuel pump.
Me too.
