Great videos you have, I've just started watching them and learning as I go about jet ski's as I'm not familiar with them. Question, I have a 01 GTX Di that I just got and it cranks over just fine, but it will not run. New fuel pump (because the PO put in a bad aftermarket one) that I got from Quantum with screens, new fuel filter, compression is 130, and it has a great spark, no check engine light. Ski has been sitting for 2 years and It's baffling me on why it won't kick and start running? Do you think it might be the fuel injectors, maybe also the direct air injectors? I'm also think it could be an issue with the carbs and they might need to be rebuilt? Any suggests yo might have for me??
@@SoCalSeaChaser Thanks for watching, we appreciate you reaching out to us. That’s awesome you picked up an 01 GTX. Have you siphoned out the old fuel? This is an common issue that can lead to the engine turning over beautifully however not starting. You mentioned the fuel injectors, it’s very possible that your feel injectors are clogged with contaminated fuel. We would remove the fuel injectors and clean the injector lead ports/tips. Try not to lose patience with your ski, these older jet skis are amazing! 😁👍🧰
@@SoCalSeaChaser In addition, below is a link to a video of us siphoning fuel out of our boat. th-cam.com/video/CwdYEQwt_qk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=16xYnuFmpFjAMILH We used this exact siphon kit to siphon fuel out of our 1995 Sea-Doo XP and it worked incredibly well. 👍
@@DIYwithMichaelBorders It’s my first ski and I’ve been toying around with wanting a small boat to get out just for a couple quick hours to fish in the marinas. Saw this and I couldn’t pass up the deal, $100. The PO couldn’t get it to start and tossed in the towel. I’m hoping I can get it to run, I’ve learned patience working on 2 stroke outboards, won’t give up too quick. Yes siphoning the gas out was the first thing I did, then I removed the tanks and cleaned them out. I didn’t want to take a chance there was water or debris in the tank. I use a “jiggle hose”, the safety siphon to get gas out, it works great and starts quick, $18 on Amazon. I’ve had to use it on all of boats to get out the varnished gas, check it out I think you’ll like it. a.co/d/ij6dUqO Right on, I’m going to clean the fuel injectors first, hopefully that’s where the issue is. In your opinion, you think the old air injectors can be cleaned somewhat with carb cleaner? I’m sure they’re going to look not so good and I don’t want to throw new ones in till I get it running since they’re not cheap. I’m also thinking of rebuilding the carbs since this thing sat for a couple years and wasn’t put away properly. Is it better to leave the exhaust pipe in place and drop the carbs or remove the exhaust for better access? Lots of respect here for you and all the mechanics that work on these tight space machines.👍🏼 Again great videos and love how detailed you are, keep up the awesome videos!

@@linuelmontana5493 Good morning ☕️ any update? This can be that you have a vacuum leak. It can also indicate that your o-ring inside the fitting located at the point where your air hose connects to fuel distributor has failed and begun to leak. If this o-ring fails…you will experience lack of compression and your acceleration will degrade and likely turn off engine. Keep us posted.

@@StevenEmm1 Thanks for the reply, this can be as simple as an imbalance in fuel and oil. Do you premix fuel and oil in a gas can and then pour it into fuel tank or does your ski have a separate internal oil tank like the ski shown here?
