Very sharp wrx bro. I just picked up a 04 wrx wagon last month after wanting one for a decade now. Whoever had it took great care of it. Already put full turbo back exhaust, grimmspeed intake, short throw shifter and got a cobb tuner and tune from delicious tuning. Unfortunately it's from up north, so I have one really bad spot rust wise, have to get ecu reflashed to stock to install tune and she started pissing coolant yesterday lol
That is a given with it being from up north, faced the same problem with my Jeep 😓 congrats on the WRX! Hopefully can get that coolant problem sorted out 🤣
@chaseburk ya, as soon as I saw the spot I knew it was from north. Other than that the owner took extremely good care of it and didn't abuse/modify it. Got it fixed yesterday. A coolant line going to turbo had hole in it. Luckily it went from hole to a two inch split, so it was extremely easy to find lol. Thank you bro!
I'm kind of surprised you aren't getting pulled over left and right. TInting your tail lights is illegal and anything below 70%. They have crazy tint laws. 5% is definitely too much and 15% is still obviously so much darker than 70. They can cite you even when the car is parked in PA, so that is a bold move. Don't get me wrong, it looks sick, but some states are absolutely not tint friendly and PA is one of them. I'm curious what the bribe is to get it to pass safety. Last time I had a car that needed a little palm greasing to pass, it only cost me $50 to the technician. ;) Really good walkthrough of all the mods you've done, though. I like how you have personalized it to make it your own. I'd be interested to know how your car has been performing in the time since you did the mods. I've got a bugeye as well that I'm just wrapping up the build on and I'm having to get the tuner to dial down the potential of the build so I don't burn through the glass transmission. I'm hoping we can keep it under 350 to maybe 320 or 330 at the most, but I'm really looking forward to getting it back on the streets. WRB bugeyes are absolute classics, so hopefully yours stays with you for a long time!
I found a 2002 in my area that I'm looking into buying now my self as fun little weekend fun toy to drive hopefully I'm able to get it for the price i want to pay.
I have a OBW right now. looking up to pick up another Subaru in a couple years. I would like to pick up a 02 or a 04 Subaru like this or in the SW variant not sure. I wanna get a WRX. I even thought about getting a Subaru Legacy with the Spec B package. Would love a H6 as well. but too thirsty maybe! what would you get? Want something punchier then the outback but want this car.
I know Smeedia has a pretty rowdy H6 swap on a WRX which is sick! I know the 02 WRX gets a lot of hate because it’s not as aggressive looking as the facelift versions but I gotta say that the look grew on me a lot and you really don’t see that many bug eyes out on the roads which I think makes it a lot cooler!
I guess it depends on how mechanically inclined you are and how bad it is. My engine was misfiring and it was just an injector coil that needed replaced, but that was probably the best case scenario. I feel like it could be a lot worse, I’d say you’re better off looking than handling that headache
Are you planning on getting any more mechanical upgrades? I have Torsen LSD front and rear as well as an upgraded 12kg viscous centre diff (standard is 4kg) and it's fkn incredible when on dirt/gravel roads.
For sure! I am looking at doing a lot of engine stuff hopefully to push more horsepower, obviously modifying Subarus can be expensive so it does take some saving! I’ve never heard of that before! I will for sure have to check that out because that sounds like a hell of a lot of fun 😅
@@chaseburk Yeah mate it's all happening gradually with me too ($$$). I haven't done anything with my engine yet but that's the next (and final) step for my project.
Any guess for how high of a horsepower number you’re looking for? I think for this car 400-500hp would satisfy me and go for a higher number in my second car I’m getting eventually
@@chaseburk Mine's actually a Forester, not a WRX, so it's naturally aspirated. I do have all STI running gear though, and I could put an STI engine up front, but for now I'm gonna stick with the NA. My wife has to use it as a shopping cart too so I don't want to make it too wild 😅 But damn, 400hp would be a SHITLOAD of fun!
The subwoofer box is my favorite part

I just purchased a 2002 Subaru WRX with a swapped 2004 sti motor. Cool video.
This is what I hope to do when this engine goes out, might as well replace it with a sti one! Enjoy the car!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOO NEW VIDEOOOOOOO
Nice ride man
Change the factory wheels they are light weight and have a small offset they dont fill the wells

Good luck on the purchase! I hope you enjoy it!

My bugeye STi has a black scoop (the car is silver) it looks so good. But my turbo is bugging 😭💔
I’d be down to buy the scoop off of you if you’re ever selling
Hey man what intake are you running?
Should I buy an 02 wagon that's stock with a misfire ?

@@chaseburk good deal I'll keep looking thank you

Wow, I’m impressed! I’d guess there’s more reliability that comes along with that too which is never a bad thing 🤣 still sounds like a beast though!!
