Not sure if anyone will see this, but I used to play magic the gathering semi-competitively, 1-2 tournaments per week. Won a couple, placed a dozen time. Was usually the only woman there or the only other woman there. Notice I say "used" to. The amount of abuse hurled at me in magic tournaments. Guys pounding their fists, cussing at me, telling me I'm shit, my deck is shit, my deck is unfair, literally ripping up their cards, throwing their hand at me after they lose. Do you have any idea how unnerving it is to be a woman when a guy is angry with you? I quit tournaments after a guy told me to eat a dick because the judge ruled against him in on a rules question. I pride myself on knowing the intricacies of the rules. I love magic, but it's just not worth the abuse, basically paying money to have guys get mad at me.

From your comment I assume it's a moot point, but if you do end up in a situation like that in the future, don't hesitate to call a judge. Judges are just as responsible for maintaining the integrity of the tournament and safety of participants as they are for keeping games on track.
Having completed Judge Academy courses myself, I can vouch that the training judges get is probably 20% rules and 80% community support/tournament management.

For a long time people from USSR beat everyone else at chess. All of the world champions (apart from Fischer) were from USSR/Russia. It's not like their genetics were uniquely suited for abstract strategic thinking, but rather the government promoting the game and the culture. When that all fell apart they people from Russia stopped being #1 at chess. What's to say this isn't what's happening to women? How many women would want to join is one thing... but even among the women that do, how many families will actually let them? Because, to be good at chess, most players start at a very young age. And need to keep practicing, and get to play competitively. Not just with neighbors or a local club. When you reach a certain level, to challenge yourself and keep getting better you'll need to be competing in tournaments.
When a kid says he's serious about chess.. A surprising amount of families in various countries/societies/communities will discriminate. If it's a son, they might approve, or even if they don't believe he'll make a career out of it, at least support his passion and wait to see how long it'll last. When it's a daughter, it will so often just be dismissed. If she's still allowed to play, the amount of support might not be the same, because it's not taken seriously, and families don't believe women have a chance to make it.
There are less female players, and also much much less female pros --> People don't believe women can make it --> There are less female players and female pros.
And then even IF they're allowed to try, it's SO, SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT! As I was saying, to get to the highest level you can reach, you will need to go to actual competitions. Even without discriminating against your daughters, how many families will let their 8/12/15 year old daughters go with their chess clubs to travel to tournaments regularly? With a club that will be at least 75% male, with mostly male teachers... and in the youngsters that want to be competitive, the proportion of males might be even higher, who lets their daughter travel alone regularly with all those guys for overnight stays to tournaments that will last for the whole weekend?
With what we know can happen to young female athletes even in sports predominantly female... how many will feel safe and comfortable to let their daughters similarly seriously involved in an environment that is mostly male? Those are obstacles that most people don't even think about. And that i'm still not sure how to solve even when knowing about it.

I like how most of these men > women arguments devolve into "The tallest man is taller than the tallest woman, therefore all men are taller than all women." And in this case, the facts don't even support the first half of the claim. • @dreamcanvas5321
      @dreamcanvas5321 4 ปีที่แล้ว +162

The only thing I'll note about your metaphor is that, I think those arguments are even more sinister with regard to mental, rather than physical characteristics. This is because mental ability is both extremely malleable in humans, and our most important characteristic as a species. Denigrating one's intelligence is thus *profoundly* dehumanizing, and is often used to rationalize horrifying attitudes and actions towards them.

@Stale Bagelz Your metaphor is fantastic, though I'll say IQ as a measurement is largely incoherent. Most IQ tests consist of odd puzzles that are like little brainteasers, and general language questions...they bare very little resemblance to things like learning processes, information recall, higher-order creativity, inference, research ability & practical problem-solving.
IQ tests demonstrate how good someone is at taking IQ tests.

    • @avradio0b
      @avradio0b 4 ปีที่แล้ว +60

@@dreamcanvas5321 Yeah, that's a good point. Especially because even the "quantitative" measures (Like IQ) fall apart when you try to correlate them with job performance, real life success, etc. The only thing it really correlates with is how good you are at taking a test.
For things like this, there isn't even evidence to support that the "smartest man > smartest woman," at least in a way that separates it from nature vs nurture (IE, there are more male Nobel Prize winners because women were barred from most aspects of those fields until the last 40 years or so)
And you're also right that it shouldn't even matter if there is a difference- using this as a rationale to dehumanize someone is absolutely absurd.

That's actually a really good point. There's a very obvious and easily explained reason for there being a disproportionate amount of Soviets who were good at chess during Cold War and pretty much everyone agrees about that reasoning, so that is a good place to start with addressing the disproportionate representation of men to women in chess.
Biological difference COULD exist, I've never seen any compelling evidence one way or the other, but as shown with the Soviets, social and societal pressures also have a pretty big impact.

Hou Yifan famously lost on purpose in an official game after the entire tournament she was "randomly" picked to play 7 women in 9 games, despite the fact that the vast majority of the players were men, and the same thing was happening to all women in that tournament. This was a way to put a hard limit on the maximum number of women that would proceed to the next stages. This also meant that the average ELO among those players stays roughly the same, which meant that other players playing against them in the future, so again - mostly other women, would gain less ranking points for that win. So basically, it meant women will need to continue to have far better and more stable results than men to get to the same level of ranking, and it would always have to be at the expanse of other women.
So as with many other cases, it's not just the psychological influence and only men being encouraged, but also systemic discrimination.

A lot of boys go into puberty expecting their sexual urges to be met straight away - and instead of realistically learning about sex, love, gender etc end up with poor views of the world and delusions about how women should be treating them. Nowhere is this better seen than across TH-cam, where misogynists and bigots cultivate audiences of hate and lust around their insidious ideas about women.
In my opinion, this kind of radicalization needs to be taken far more seriously than it is.

I can speak a little to the chess thing. My dad is quite good at chess and taught me at a young age, and I liked it well enough. But when I started playing people outside my family I quickly got turned off because- and this is something I've read Ms. Polgar talk about- beat a dude at chess and 9 times out of 10 he will be an absolute douche about it. It's a game, guys. Just a game- and while it takes skill it isn't the all-important measure of super smartiness that people have set it up to be. But being beaten by a woman at this game is such a kick in the balls to men, they get really sore, and that is not fun. Most people don't actually get any pleasure out of making other people miserable, and it sets up a resistance inside of you when it happens a couple of times. You don't even want to win, it isn't worth it.
Games should be fun. Playing any single game well is not an absolute measure of intelligence. Chess is not the be-all and end-all, people should just relax and enjoy the puzzle of it.

I used to be quite a decent chess player, I played for my school, university, city and county, but back in the 70s/80s it was an awful world for girls. No-one really expected us to do well, even when I was Captain of a team the officials at matches would talk to the blokes. Players on the other team would opely congratulate themselves for drawing me, a girl, as their oppnent (not for long, usually, but still). Plus it was a ghastly, snobbish world for a working class kid to suddenly fetch up in. I don't know if this is as bad in other countries, but in Britain, much like in the Bridge world, the heirartchy of chess is not very welcoming to working class people.

That study mentioned was quite interesting. I think the average white-pseudo fascist male tends to like to believe that social stigmas don't affect anyone's behavior, or ability to succeed. Clearly they do. Psychologically if you think your opponent is much better than you or feel you're not supposed to be better than them, you're likely to do worse - because self-doubting anxiety can put a person off their game. If everywhere you see social cues and sexist men claiming women are inherently worse at something, even if the women reject these statements, it will leave a mark in the psyche after constant exposure to such beliefs. Humans are wired to pay attention to social patterns and beliefs. A lot of what we are good at often has to do with social expectations, if boys are told from a young age that they should be naturally great at strategy, they will feel like something is wrong with them if they're not, so they focus their mind to meet those expectations and pick up hobbies that improve such skills. If girls are taught that due to "biology" they inherently should not be that good at strategy, they won't have such expectations to fulfill, and will likely avoid hobbies that would train those skills further because they're "not really made for it anyway" it's kind of like a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Another interesting thing to note, about the "changing goal posts" that this has happened to women since the dawn of time. Essentially fields that were at some point actually considered masculine, requiring of intelligence and deep-analytical skills, such as psychology and social sciences, suddenly are considered "useless feminine fake sciences" as soon as plenty of women entered the field. I read an interesting book about that studied the subject from the 1940s onwards, that when women break "glass ceilings" and enter traditionally masculine fields - rather than women gaining more prestige in society - the profession itself loses prestige and becomes socially regarded as "not that impressive" and actually the average salary falls for the job. The jobs that continue to be seen as "prestigious" and important are the ones that are still male-orientated. Once women break into the fields, suddenly they're not considered as important anymore. It's like some men just want to pat themselves on the back, and can't stand to think that anything women can do is as important as what they can do.

I think this is very true. While I would want esports teams to be a mix between women and men lets look at the reality of a womans experience in gaming. If a woman is playing an online game all the little gamerboys will be either harrassing her or trying to get into her pants. Either would make someone very uncomfortable and it's obviously very hard getting good at something which makes you uncomfortable or at least gives you the fear you might get uncomfortable at some point. From what I've heard from female Counter-Strike players is that they want their own league and play on a team with only females cause that makes them feel comfortable and lets them be themselves. I've seen a lot of little gamerboys saying that they want their own league and teams cause they can't compete but they have no way of winning these people over. If they play with or against male teams they will simply get harrassed by these gamerboys or become a sex symbol. If they play on their own they'll still be harrassed but at least they have each other at that point. It's the same as why a lot more women are good at knitting compared to men. It's not that women have some sort of inborn ability to be good at knitting, it's just that most men won't even try to get good at it out of fear of being mocked by other men. And even if they get good at it, the mockery doesn't stop. A few will of course push through this but the vast majority will just find something else to spend their time doing.

For Esports an additional reason is Gamer-houses and the culture pre-established. If a woman was to join for example Team Solomid while playing League of Legends. She would have to move into a house with her 4 male teammates, and more than likely her 2 male coaches, and then spend upwards of 12 hours a day with them while playing matches, going over their replays with coaches, and likely meals as well.
It could be awkward, to say the least, and cause issues. I am positive that the team-members and organization would work around it to the best of their abilities. But it would be an uncomfortable environment to join. I know I would feel awkward as a male if I had to move into a gaming house with 6 girls I barely knew, and I don't have to deal with harassment from fans or fear of sexual harassment on the workplace.
If it counts for anything we have gotten a fantastic cross-player in the LoL LCS: Sneaky from C9. The guy managed to trick quite a few streamers. But no cis-females yet and I vaguely remember a trans player looking to enter but getting harassed out of playing on stage. In CS: GO they have a competitive women's league from what I understand that has been doing really well and women have been very effective on teams in general in that game (specifically for staff like when they hire sport psychologists.) The different mindset women often bring seems to do a lot of teams good.

it's an empirical claim about the statistical distribution of chess ability. if we assume that male and female distribution is IDENTICAL (statistically impossible) then all available evidence points to the opposite, namely a bias towards men at the tails of yet another normal distribution (bell curve.) Type "statistics 101" into the search bar, presumably some kind nerd has uploaded something useful.
assumption 1: men and women are genetic clones with IDENTICAL (?!) chess ability
assumption 2: psychological depravity and malicious intent compel wicked men to lie and/or pretend that the distributions are not identical
assumption 3: no amount of empirical evidence will ever show that the distributions are not identical because that is metaphysically impossible
assumption 4: SOME empirical evidence is in fact admissible, namely the success of a woman whose father was a chess genius and hothoused his daughter in chess. Given that Carlsen was not hothoused in this manner but is 200 ELO above Judit, wouldn't we expect that hothousing all human children equally in chess will merely replicate the current distributions? Why not?
This is like trying to detoxify a cultist's addled mind. You don't dispute the data. You don't cite the data. You don't interpret the data. There is just one grim orthodoxy. One stark, mathematical objective. You are convinced of a moral obligation to profess that the statistical distribution of FUCKING CHESS ABILITY is ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL because basically, INEQUALITY IS EVIL AND I AM NOT A NAZI and you kinda are.
The funny thing is, I'm not even coming down on one side of this fascinating question. (Yes, it's interesting so let's fucking discuss it!) As far as I can tell men have more of a taste and indeed love, for the game. The sane individual has his own assumption - chess ability and its distribution are the result of a complex interaction between "nature" and "nurture". You and most of the bafflingly obtuse commenters here have forbidden yourselves from noticing reality, on principle. And it's kind of energetically stupid, too. It has to be, to keep the extraordinary burden of proof at bay. When you opt for boutique ideological hallucinations rather than detached enquiry you have to routinely profess, and shriek in ecstasies of condemnation, and maintain a sort of white noise inside your skull to avoid any irritating glitches.
Finally, some questions. Is it desirable that men and women be identically capable of reaching 2800 ELO? Why? Why is such a state of affairs inherently desirable? Is it because chess has a reputation as a mind i.e a smart, game for more intelligent people? Are the world's best chess players more intelligent than Joe soap? (They SEEM to be, they all appear to speak several languages, there's university attainment etc Carlsen was memorizing all the countries, capitals and populations of all countries in the world as a kid for his own amusement. I mean, I just presume they're all of above average intelligence.)
There's over one billion Chinese people on this earth. In a way, I'm surprised there aren't more Chinese women at Hou Yifan's level. The male GM list has more and more Chinese entrants. You'd think eventually a genetic freak (sorry, I know genes are taboo) would be born there, male or female, a Rain Man of the chess board who like Usain Bolt will crush his rivals at a canter. I'd predict a man, but there I go running my hatemouth off issuing hatespeech and hatefacts on behalf of the, like, Patriarchy and stuff?

Nor does it say anything about hate speach or the patriarchy, because those things aren't the problem here. Nobody said that the statistics for men and women had to be identical. Did you even watch the video? The point is that yes, women can play chess just as well as men so long as they study the game (obviously), and also that chess ability is not the best measure of intelligence because of the social pressures that have an effect on the data. Besides that, you just accused people of not citing research and then didn't cite research, all you did was build a strawman and then get mad at the existence of that strawman. I have a reason why female players are not as often in the high leagues as males: You can only get better in chess if you have equally decent enemies. That's why you need chess clubs. And most chess clubs are a overly traditionalist hive of guys who really don't know how to deal with women in their midst. So of course, women are not interested in joining them for the most part.

Women can't compete because they're different. They can't produce the extremes in the numbers males can. Anyone who thinks social conditions are the major factor is a total cretin who hasn't looked at the data. We've been here before with physics, philosophy and maths. Even when women can compete, they choose to do something less nerdy instead. You can make changes around the margin - but freaky women don't exist in the same numbers as men. For some reason this is seen as sexist and that idiotic view is backed by all major western govts. We will waste so much chasing this phantom. Things which people wish to be true are not going to become true.

Until I realized, it's strategic. These men are trying to maintain chess as a place for men. So they do everything they can to make entry points to the sport disinviting. I agree with Polgar that women's leagues harm women at the top, but I can immediately tell that non-chess factors would discourage women at lower levels. I attribute it to what I've seen termed elsewhere as "adorkable misogyny", and chess.com shows that it should not be seen as non-threatening.

I agree. People said the same thing about women's colleges back in the day. They are known as being generally less selective and less competitive colleges. So women prefer co-ed schools since they are seen as more relevant. But, as we now know, those schools can come with their own risks and bad experiences that women also have to prepare for. There are pros and cons to each choice. You can be comfortable among other women, or be more competitive among the men. It's unfortunate that those are the only options. I’m crying at the way he pronounced Minnetonka, why did he put a six mile gap between the syllables

    • @fritzophrenia3146
      @fritzophrenia3146 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Minnetonka comes from the local native language, so my guess is that the language has different syllable stress rules. For example, a local town near where I live is called sisseton, also from the local native American language. English speakers normally pronounce it siss-uh-tun, whereas its "more accurate" to say siss-ay-ton, if that makes sense (I'm not in any way an expert on this so I'm sure there's a better way to put it, but whatever). It's also worth noting that even the native Americans around here dont refer to it that way, its just correct in the purely technical sense.
So what I'm saying is that while I'm not 100% positive its the same case with minnetonka, maybe he is saying it correctly, just not in the context of an English speaker or even the locals. Not to trip over myself defending black pigeon speaks or anything, but its a fun little thing I noticed

@@fritzophrenia3146 I live right next to the town and he did pronounce it pretty strangely, nobody i know pronounces it other than with four syllables as “min” as in mini, e as in the start of especially and tonka as one would expect. all pressed together. its a minor point as he does not live here and could not know. like the “star tribune” is the paper the article at the beginning is pronounced here as a single word with the emphasis on the “une”

The tournaments, except for one, were not sponsored by our school and anyone of any age could enter so our little club was really kinda irrelevant to them. I end up playing against a couple of teenagers even (and I crushed them but meh, that is also irrelevant) and some kids younger than me. In fact, only a bunch of us would participate in the tournaments at all. The rest just liked to do the activities in the books they gave us and play against each other after school.
We also had a professional chess player as our teacher (the type that could play and win four chess plays at the same time) telling us what we did wrong and what we did right so, I assure you, even though not all the members had the ambition to compite they could still play very well.

There are a lot of interesting studies of such "stereotype threat" situations as were brought up in the study you mentioned.
One study I saw that I'd like to track down again divided Asian women into three groups to complete a math test. As I recall: The control group first did a word problem using neutral words. One of the groups first did a word problem with words associated with Asia, subliminally reminding them that they were Asian, and they did better than the control group. One of the groups first did a word problem with female-associated words...and they did worse than the control group. These types of studies suggest that when we are reminded that we are in a situation where many people would expect us to do well (people think Asians are good at math) we perform better than when we are reminded that we are in a situation where many people would expect us to perform poorly (because people expect women to be bad at math)...on average, anyway. Some people are spurred on by the idea of beating the odd, but it is easy to psych yourself out. It also suggests why having role models who resemble you and messages that counteract the "X people aren't good at Y" narratives can be important.

But THEN they also remove titles from trans men who transitionned which makes no sense since by their logic trans men should be treated like women so which is it?
Honestly the worst part to me is the fact they say they'd restore the title if trans men detransition, it's basically holding a title hostage it's... awful.

I learned how to play chess as a child and by my early teens was competing in local and county competitions. This was back in the early 80s and I met resistance and sexism among my opponents. Quite frequently I'd be the only girl in a sea of boys. I met boys and men who HATED being beaten by a girl much more so than they would if they'd been playing a male. I could never really understand it. Even as late as the 90s I still met this attitude. My Dad taught me and he had a habit of giving a low whistle whenever I made a particularly good move which used to make my Mum laugh. My parents would chat with the other kids' parents when we went to the competitions and Mum told me indignantly of a couple she'd met who said both their son and daughter played, but "naturally" they gave more support to their son. I've always disagreed of having women's only competitions. It should be a free-for-all and girls must get used to playing boys!

the problem is that it is just exhausting proving you are a person over and over again against a sea of criticism. I like women only spaces for practicing and having a chance to breathe a bit before jumping back out into a world where I do not know if my next opponent will be polite or a complete asshole. being emotionally prepared for that sort of nonsense all the time is tiring, and for someone entering a new hobby, without having a passion for it, why stick around? I find women only/non cis men spaces great training grounds and community. I will not isolate myself from the game community at large, but I value being allowed a break from constantly being on the defensive.

The problem is, that people take this statistical arguments and come to individualistic conclusions, and you really can't do that.
There are less women not only in chess, but in overall competitive games because the culture just changed from a patriarchal society a couple decades ago. And specially in things like Chess, or Magic the Gathering for example... or videogames, o rol playing games. Many mans still tend to openly dislike and discourage the participation of women.
So is not that a women cannot become really good at those things, is that circumstances limit the amount of women that end up becoming really good.
But just the fact that a single woman can be really good disproves all the dumb asses biological arguments

    • @Jokerkius
      @Jokerkius 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

Also, if any biological argument is true. Is maybe that the more testosterone you have, more competitive you become.
So maybe a good chunk of women that have the potential to become really good, really don't think is worth it to do so, therefore they just stay in the above average level.
Because let's be real. Becoming good at chess, or a card game, or a competitive videogame. Is a bitch. You basically need to base your life around it.
I used to be really competitive at League of Legends, and Pokémon. So i know that.
A lot of people just don't find it fun.

So people can't fathom when a women does none of those things and is practicing her hobbies. Even now a days it's very hard for women to even pick up a hobby (you can do this at any age or sex yet women are still discouraged from doing anything new). I personally believe if we take gender out of everything, women and men can learn how to work together or mixed teams. women will evolve to get better at competition, men will get better at sportsmanship. it's a win-win! but I guess it makes too much sense so it's not gonna happen anytime soon.

The thing you could call skeptic commuity was the atheist agnostic etc community in the past but then broke even further apart when this femenist sjw thing started. Yes many of the "anti " feminist croud are those old skeptics but not all and a lot of people came in this new group for example a lot of conservatives. Now you have a extremly mixed group hard core christian making similiar videos then atheists and doing them together. The only thing that all of those people have in common is that they dont like sjw the hardcore feminists and stuff and thats it, not even the reasons why they dislike them are the same.
And second to the demagogue community, every community of ideas is exactly this. Your community too look at the comments for example. People who watch "both sides", which is not true at all there are not just to sites, are very rare. most of the time i am the only one i can find saying negativ things underneath a video.
Dont make the mistake thinking your gruop here is different like we are doing it correct. I have still to find the group which does.
And third dont do generalization. It is not: they are sying what the crowd wants to hear, some maybe but some of the "other side" do too. But most just say what they believe and people like what they say and listen. i would say the crowd does not have influece of what the person says but more or less dictates what the person is speaking about, the topic.

+DudeWizard You honestly believe the anti-Anita videos (made by atheist & other non-gamer channels) were all made with genuine passion for the subject? Because that's where it started.
Anti-Anita videos became its own sub-genre on TH-cam after feminist frequency merely announced that she would be making videos on video games. Gamers are the largest community on TH-cam, because every gamer has an online presence, which means that even the most mediocre non-entity gamer channel will garner at least 1M subs. Not all gamers are misogynists, but the misogynists amongst them are substantial in number, because gamers are such a large demographic. Pandering to them, after members of the atheist community saw how easy it was to achieve continued success by doing so, also attracted your average garden variety misogynist to their channels, which mostly turned out to be right-wingers, unsurprisingly.
Meanwhile, another phenomenon was developing: commenters started making audio versions of their comments, calling these: "videos". Another demographic that exists is the existential crisis community of shut-ins (who also comprise, & found appeal with gamers of the more hateful variety) who get their jollies from searching for videos they disagree with & spamming the comments section & ratings. These serial commenters started making TH-cam channels, where they made audio versions of what they had been doing for years previous, which all the other serial commenters subscribed to. This appealed to them a lot more because their attacks were more concentrated & devastating, because of sheer numbers being on their side, & also because their TH-cam channels grew, which alleviated their existential crisis quite a bit.
The right-wing conspiracy nut jobs are riding the wave of success the others I mentioned "created".
All these comprise the "skeptic" community, as they are never skeptical of one another (often actually endorsing one another), despite their supposed differences (they apparently put their differences aside for their shared obsession with the same scapegoats & buzzwords). If they ever upload a video that the mob doesn't collectively agree with, like Racism is Unstoppable's anti-Trump views, or Sargon's & TJ's pro-Bernie views, or Blunderfart's anti-Brexit views, then the creators will feel the backlash from their troglodyte audiences & in response go right back to pandering to the scum of the internet (seriously, who is more deserving of the epithet?).
The demagogues' exploitation of mob rule I believe to be the greatest threat to freedom of speech on TH-cam.

@Knight Chime okok lets start ^^
1)Ok lets start with the anita part: First i myself am not a big fan of anita she makes to many assumptions about possibilitys and ignores the alot of contradictions about her own arguments. What i mean is that she does a shitty job. Another part about her was her rly small sample group. But ok enough about that. You are right a lot of people made videos about her work. But i would say exactly there is the point a made. they make videos about the topic anita because people want to hear what those people think about it. They said what they thought about a topic the audience demanded. The "mob" wanted a topic and people made videos about it. That so many are negativ about it is mostly not because people wanted to hear bad things about her, i would say that would get the amount of pro anita videos down but not the anti anita videos up, anita just made a lot of mistakes in her work which meant alot of negativ works back and like you said before a large amount of people on youtube are gamer, which makes alot of youtube content creators gamer too which then leads to negativ videos about her too, if all this negativity is earned or not is not important... ok i think you got my point there.
      2) On to the next part: i dont get what you mean with that second part of yours. Do you mean the consequences of getting many bad comments ??? I just dont understand what you mean with that part sorry would be nice if you would explain that in a reply.
      3) ok now the last part: they are skeptical about eachother and again my assumption/ theory, i would not call it more than this rigfht now to be fair, applys again. They dont seem to skeptical about each other, thats because they make videos about the same thing the same topic. the topic demanded by the fans or how you call them mob. It is the topic thats get choosen by the viewers not the opinion o atleast not as dirct as you say. and again you said most some maybe but i dont think alot of the skeptic community. you even proved this inderectly with the part of the backlash about differnt opinions. they have differentideas and they are not pandering with there beliefs but with the topics they speak about. and of course if all of them make anti anita videos left right center or whatever ocourse they dont disagree with each other. they have the same view about this topic. go back a few years whan it was about religion, you would not make the same arguments back then.
In the end you have a rly bad attitide about the skeptic community. That makes you say things like all of them, scum of the internet, the mob. are you sure those are all correct. The feminist community if you know what i mean does the same like the anti feminist community videos abiout the same topic just with differnet ideas. and there are some of the old atheist commuitiy which is today the skeptic comminity on both sides. it is not as easy as they are bad they are evil or just doing it for money i would even say thats completly wrong. i hope i could answer your points with my english and understanding of them. and dont forget to explain what you mean in your secoind part ok

BPS should look into changing his name to BPDS - Black Pigeon Double Speaks on account of how contradictory most of his statements are . For eg. he believes that in order to consider women as equals it means that women have to prove that they regularly and easily defeat any and all men in every aspect of human life , not realizing that such a statement is massively contradictory. If women regularly and consistently proved that they were better abled, more competent and more intelligent than just the majority of men then that wouldn't make them equal to men it would actually make them far superior to men. In any case those who make up the insanely talented , intelligent or athletic among us only constitute a small fraction of any overall population . Most people are roughly average but apparently for women average doesn't mean 'just as good' but rather it shows how inferior they are to men. The fact that someone would claim that in order to be taken seriously most women have to perform way above average is the very epitome of misogyny and possessing a discriminatory mindset. It stating that the best of women only amounts to the lowest or most average of men.

Riko1980 - women don't have to prove anything. Few great female chess players don't disprove the scientifically backed up observation that variation in various traits (including intelligence) is greater across males than females.

C'mon guys, subscribe!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is still such small little insignificant potatoes! I'll ask a bunch of people to watch and hopefully subscribe. What I don't get is how someone like Sargon can have like 3 channels all with more, and how is it that all of the above mentioned channels all have pretty much the same content I think, but there are so many subscribers, you'd think just one would do? Is it content related? Or presentation related. At any rate, you should look into this Shaun and Jen, maybe you can model after them for more success, you know, subscriber wise?

Chess is all about prediction an computation, most chess masters think several moves ahead. Women have proven that they have the skills necessary, historically they have been used as actual computers back in the day where that was a vocation and not a term for a machine.
    Women can clearly play chess.
I hope people who use the biological argument to justify their bigoted views don't also use evolution to justify them too.
To say "women are X because evolution so you can't question me" are forgetting that evolution is powered by the engine of change. In a world with evolution, even if it was true women where inferior, thanks to evolution that's not a guarantee it will be like that forever.

I hate when people throw such terms around lightly, but BPS is an actual all-out sexist and misogynist. Most of the TH-cam anti-feminsts who are accused of such things are really just have reactionary attitudes and enjoy acting like inconsiderate dicks on purpose, but BPS is the real deal, a literal woman hater. It is clear from the way he talks about certain things and the language he uses, that he barely can hold back his hate.

What I find so strange about people saying that "men are just genetically predisposed to be better at chess" is that actual chess pros say (well, nowadays anywyays) that there isn't much of a difference. And when these pros say this (like, u know, Magnus Carlsson has done) people are calling him out on "adhering to the woke mob as to not get cancelled".
Obviously this is a thing that occurs in most competitive games. But at the very least it seems to be changing with, say Valorant in that regard. Which is nice, even tho I prefer the gameplay of CS:GO. It's just a shame I find myself wishing that the community was less of an acidic, toxic substance of depressed and angry people

Depends largely on what criteria you're using and how you define "top 100". If you're using the FIDE rankings, well they have a separate system for men and women so a top 100 list doesn't really exist.

I appreciate this video so much. Chess was my most prominent experience with sexism and gender stereotyping growing up. I was first chair for my chess team every year in school except one. That one year I was literally barred from being on the team by the female cheerleading coach who was teaching the "gifted" class that the chess team was picked from. I played every guy in my class and beat them, then she made me play every guy from the other classes and I beat them too (none of the guys in my class had to do this). Even after beating every single person I played she still didn't let me go to the tournament. Even exceeding the moving goal post wasn't good enough for her.

The lack of great female chess players has more to do with the disproportionate amount of males to females playing than it has to do with male superiority. Judit Polgar and Hou Yifon are examples of great female chess players
