“You look cool playing quick moves” is probably one of the reasons why this went badly. If you’re always looking at yourself from an outside perspective, how can you be really in the moment and do what drives you from your inner motivation? As someone who also had to learn this, I would recommend not being swayed so easily by other people(easier said than done, I know) and being firm and confident in your own playstyle.
If you think you’re not confident in your playstyle right now, it’s probably not the one for you and that’s the reason you’re swayed.
If you give yourself permission to explore different play styles without immediate judgement, maybe youll discover there is a style that fits that you wouldn’t have expected before.

The average strength of this tournament it´s 2049. Anna it´s 2045 and 3.5/6 so she it´s playing slightly above her level. And her last game it´s against Linda Diaz (1956 and 7th, with just 1 point) so he can end with a good performance.
    But Alex(2017) it´s killing it.4.5/6 and second place it´s 2200+ performance.

Yes Alex has said she is very serious now about progressing at a much better place. She'll still do poker and Andrea will be the main force behind their social media channels, but I think she is aiming at that WGM title in the future. I will say she's kind of mad about poker because the guy behind ACR (America's Card Room) - the biggest on-line poker site - hasn't paid her or any other streamers for a year.

It's called the principle of the "two weaknesses". One might not be enough to win the game - two weaknesses (a-pawn and d-pawn) does the trick.

19:51 Anna looking downcast. Chess is an unforgiving taskmaster! Well done Alexandra cool, calm and collected all the way. Compared with Anna's harassed demeanor. Too much chess can do that to one.

I am a low level player, but what I heard once was that when the queens are off the board, the King becomes more powerful. It can be an effective attack piece. So my question for Anna, would she have had a better chance by mobilizing her king toward the center of the board, rather than just waiting on the "sidelines" for the rest of the game to play out.

This, I surmise, is why Andrea is such a benefit to Alex. Andrea is the consummate chaos creator; therefore, Alex plays chess in the middle ring of a three ring circus. When Alex achieves GM status-as I believe Anna will as well-she will no doubt thank Andrea for providing her with live-fire (not even joking) battlefield conditions. 🤔❤️🤔❤️😂😂😂

I think you should have played for more straighforward opening. That would have allowed for better time management and you can trust that something will open up later.

One thing that draws my attention is that everyone seems to want to play Alex Botez despite there being some more high rated players.. is Alex so interesting to play against? Why is she so many people’s nemesis?
