My favorite part of this is how cinematic you made it, as if you understood how links emotions are affecting his movements, or as if you were link himself. Incredible video.
4:45 The Hero's eyes flicked up to the oversized health bar, so swollen now that it had become displaced from the centre, his expression still and vacant as it always was. Then a brow quirked in a minute display of interest before his eyes fell once again to meet the Demon Kings own. A gentle smile bloomed across the his face, a smile one would perhaps reserve for a dear friend, not the mortal enemy that stood before him. And then, with a voice rusted from disuse, the Hero of Hyrule spoke: "It's cute how you think that will save you."
Hero of Hyrule, Scourge of Calamity Ganon, Hylian Knight. At this point, Link's intro title could also be "Slayer of Ganondorf," but since he doesn't speak, he'll never have his own title
this is actually really difficult to do. I tried this but with one extra challenge and that was to kill all five of the phantoms before doing any damage to ganondorf but i kept getting hit at least once.
I was going to do that as well but ignoring the real Ganondorf looked so weird to me so I just decided to do the "no running away from clones" restriction
I didn't realize you were supposed to hit those gloom blobs back at Ganon during the second half of the Demon King health bar. I spent so long just dodging them while waiting for Ganon to make a swing at me so that I could flurry rush him to 0. Took forever. I should have known that it was the OoT "tennis match" portion of the fight, just slightly altered.
Nah same, but whats funny is I figured out I could hit the ones he shoots with his bow. But it didn't click that the ones in the ground could also be hit back lmaooo
In the first age, in the first battle When the shadows first lengthened, one stood He chose the path of perpetual torment In his ravenous hatred he found no peace And with boiling blood he scoured the Hyrulean Plains Seeking vengeance against the Demon King who had wronged him And those that tasted the bite of the master sword named him… *The Gloom Slayer*
I just love watching him walk out of the way of the health destruction attacks so casually, and when he puts his sword away at 2:56. If I was ganondorf I would be furious
Against all the Gloom that Ganondorf can conjure; all the Constructs the Zonai could produce, we will send unto them only you. Slice and dice until it is done.
I feel like this iteration of Link is silent out of anger after seeing Ganondorf tear everything away from Zelda forcing her to sacrifice herself, so he is just furious and bloodlusted in the final battle.
I've found that this is actually the easiest way to no-damage this fight. The window for flurry rushing is way more generous than the shield parry window, and if you focus on Ganondorf himself in phase 2, the phantoms don't really do anything to you.
I don't agree honestly. First off, if you parry, you don't have to worry about Ganondorf flurry rushing you, making punishes a lot more simple. In phase 3, you have to flurry rush him twice in order to get an opening, it not only looks cooler but it's harder too. And second, that last part is only true IF you have SAGES with you distracting the Phantoms, I have nobody to distract them in this video. This run was done without doing ANY of the temples, this video is part of a much larger run where I no damage the ENTIRE boss rush + Ganondorf.
The phantoms can be aggressive. It's all about spacing. I've done a low heart full boss rush version of this fight. It was not fun. The phantoms do target you. Also, the phantoms do not have one shot protection. That was fun to learn.
@KingdomKeyJT even if the phantoms do come at you in phase 2, they don't have the same options to punish you that Ganondorf does since they're limited to one weapon and can't flurry rush or use bows or gloom attacks. the phantoms can also be flurry rushed too, although it is a bit harder since they have fucked up angles on you. the parry does look cooler but you get less damage off of the punish since you get less hits, and missing the parry is a lot worse than missing the flurry rush when he does his spear lunge.
I just beat the game for the first time, and now that I can catch up on TOTK content, I have one question for everyone in this comment chain: how the Hyrule are you people able to fight him like you say?! He chewed through six shields- three royals, with one durability upped- and a good four/six hearts. How? Also, good job, but HOW?!
When I did this fight I wore the Champion’s Leathers so I could harass Ganondorf with sword beams any time he moved out of melee range lol. Great video btw, I appreciate the cinematic use of the camera.
Well, THIS is the Link we all have known, the hero who has the courage to face all threats alone if he must, the Master Sword's true master and user of the courage's Triforce (even if in this game doesn't appear)
I also love videos of people being creative with Zonai devices or tricks to defeat their enemies... But this here... Wow! That's just pure skill and really impressive! 👏🏻
What impressed me the most wasn't the flawless execution, but the fact that on phase 2, you were able to target very accurately. Bravo, this is a phenomenal fight 👏👏👏👏
I don’t know what lore-accurate Link means so the vid didn’t really catch my attention at first. But, boy, am I glad it kept getting recommended. This was just beautiful! Such economy of movement. Just perfect mastery of those fights. I’m in awe. And I love seeing Link in that outfit. The speed runs always just have him in shorts, but I love this outfit. He matches Zelda for the ending. I wish I were good enough to not need serious armor 😅. Anyway, beautifully done. Thanks for working so hard and recording it for the world to enjoy!
Lore accurate link is the link that destroys anything with only the master sword. As seen in previous memories, link was able to defeat hoardes of monsters with only the master sword. What's also interesting is that he is a very young man, by the time of botw he was only 17 (technically 117 but the 100 years dont count). Imagine what a 28-30 year old link would be able to do!?!?
Well reading into the story a bit actually gives solid evidence that TotK Link is at least 24, likely higher. That one girl in Tarrey Town who’s name has slipped my mind is 7, in BotW Hudson never mentioned anything of a daughter so it had to have happened after the events of that game, meaning Link has to be at least 24 assuming Hudson got with that Gerudo girl immediately after Calamity Gannon’s defeat. In fact, assuming I’m not forgetting any, TotK’s incarnation of Link is the oldest in the series. And it certainly shows with the things he can do, that’s for sure! Feel free to point out anything I got wrong, I just like game lore and am going off the bits of memory I still got from my TotK playthrough
@@z6847no, you are mostly right, Hudson and his gerudo wife marry in BoTW, Link helps to prepare the wedding and assists to it, then if you assume that his wife got pregnant on the honeymoon then yeah, Link is 24-25 (9 months pregnancy + kid's age of 7), however if they waited at least 1 year to conceive her then Link is 25-26.
God i love this final boss fight so much❤ Ganondorf really is an amazing final boss fight. 12:26 this has to be the most epic moment in the entire game. Gives me goosebumps everytime. As easy as Demon Dragon may be, he is still my favorite boss fight ever in this game. I 1 time ranked Ganondorf Phase 3 higher, but i can't appreciate the amazing scenery. And the music just slaps so hard in this fight. Easily one of the best games i've played ever😊 16:25 at this point it's just a nobrainer why i put it higher than phase 3 Ganondorf. The music is just to good😅. Don't get me wrong, i really love the Ganondorf Boss fight itself a lot too. What a great way to end it all😊. Can't wait till the dlc comes.
Tbh this is the first time I see the ganon fight and well second faze ganon looks a bit like demise form skywardsword wich makes sense since all the ganons are reincarnation of demise after he cursed link and zelda to an eternity of fighting
There's actually a theory or two floating around that this Ganondorf is actually the first one, and after being sealed away by Rauru, his malice just kinda eventually became Demise before the events of Skyward sword, and then the curse began by the end of Skyward Sword.
is this the give me back my waifu ganon i know what you did speedrun well done on the fights ganon is so FUN absolutely love that the master sword has infinite durability here I put the light dragon horn on it just for immersion lol I didnt know theres no fall damage in the dragon phase that makes it so much more cinematic
I put the gloom club on the end to give Ganondorf a taste of his own medicine (despite the fact that fusing one of his weapons to the master sword is probably tantamount to some hardcore heresy)
You are insanely skilled, I tried doing this before and i got hit atleast once everytime by his clones. For the next Zelda (wishing for botw3/totk2) they add more combat choices to really show how skilled this link is with a sword.
i never imagine Link as untouchable. After all, we've seen him fall in narrative back in BOTW. From a gameplay perspective he becomes extremely powerful, but the man is no god. He's been heralded and shown as powerful and fast, but he's not supposed to be equal or greater in power than his opponents per say
Anyone else bothered by the fact that for some reason… Dragon Ganon’s only weakness is the sacred stone on its forehead… the thing that he swallowed in order to become the dragon in the first place? Even though no other dragon has that. It felt like a forced written-in weakness, to me.
Yeah it is forced but I like the idea that the final blow you deal in this game is against a "Tear of the Kingdom". I could care less about plot holes if the end result is something I enjoy.
The way I think of it is since ganondorf turned into a dragon in order to prevent his imminent death, the process was affected in some way that gave him flaws in his immortality, as opposed to Zelda who became a dragon for more selfless reasons and gained full immortality
Not really, it is consistent with where the tear attached to Ganondorf when activated. From the looks of it, each tear seems to have its own way of attaching to the user depending on who they are. It is unclear if the user gets to choose how the tear attaches to them or if it is the one that chooses but regardless, Ganondorf’s tear attaches to his forehead and that carried over to his dragon self. Zelda on the other hand doesn’t really attach her tear to herself, she seems to carry it on a necklace separate from her body so that carried over to her dragon form. The tear is somewhere inside her dragon body and if someone found it and happened to break it, they could likely kill her too. This means that dragon immortality carries a big asterisk where you are immortal as long as nobody finds your tear and breaks it.
I like how this time lore accurate link isn’t doing a bunch of shenanigans. He’s just giving Ganondorf the business at his most powerful with minimal effort

That’s like me hoping a sperm in my ballsack will be the one that fertilizes an egg of a woman I’ve never met, and a child is conceived, and will grow up to have a better housing market when they get to be my age and the house market sucks now. 😅
Not impossible but slim chance.
rtothec1234 I'm concerned about the last part of your comment😐
@@rtothec1234 housing market will be better though.
Around 2030 the boomer generation will leave us and thus freeing up a lot of housing and apartments.
My favorite part of this is how cinematic you made it, as if you understood how links emotions are affecting his movements, or as if you were link himself. Incredible video.
4:45
The Hero's eyes flicked up to the oversized health bar, so swollen now that it had become displaced from the centre, his expression still and vacant as it always was. Then a brow quirked in a minute display of interest before his eyes fell once again to meet the Demon Kings own.
A gentle smile bloomed across the his face, a smile one would perhaps reserve for a dear friend, not the mortal enemy that stood before him.
And then, with a voice rusted from disuse, the Hero of Hyrule spoke:
"It's cute how you think that will save you."
Hero of Hyrule, Scourge of Calamity Ganon, Hylian Knight. At this point, Link's intro title could also be "Slayer of Ganondorf," but since he doesn't speak, he'll never have his own title
"Saviour of Hyrule"
“Gloom Slayer”

No one's gonna talk about how smooth the charge attack followed by the side-stepping was at 8:37?
this is actually really difficult to do. I tried this but with one extra challenge and that was to kill all five of the phantoms before doing any damage to ganondorf but i kept getting hit at least once.
I was going to do that as well but ignoring the real Ganondorf looked so weird to me so I just decided to do the "no running away from clones" restriction
@@KingdomKeyJT Its really difficult too. I still haven't done it. Love this game though. my choice for goty
@@chrisbonds9871 it’s my choice for GOTY as well for sure
7:38 You learn something new everyday I had no idea you could do that!
When I first saw Link walking slowly, realized I was about to see a Badass Link
The casual side step when those arrows flew at link. Bro you out did yourself, I wish I could play like that
You can play like that. Anyone can, you just have to practice.
Ganondorf: He just stands there, walking menacingly!
2:57 I love how relaxed and unbothered Link was 😂
This is just an average Tuesday for him ig
In the first age, in the first battle
When the shadows first lengthened, one stood
He chose the path of perpetual torment
In his ravenous hatred he found no peace
And with boiling blood he scoured the Hyrulean Plains
Seeking vengeance against the Demon King who had wronged him
And those that tasted the bite of the master sword named him…
*The Gloom Slayer*
I just love watching him walk out of the way of the health destruction attacks so casually, and when he puts his sword away at 2:56. If I was ganondorf I would be furious
Ganondorf should be used to getting humbled after more than 7 iterations of a “Mortal”. (Link) absolutely destroying him.
Against all the Gloom that Ganondorf can conjure; all the Constructs the Zonai could produce, we will send unto them only you. Slice and dice until it is done.
Lore accurate link vs lore accurate ganondorf
@@davidwhidden9337 they usually don't target me if I simply stand and wait for Ganondorf himself to approach
This was masterful. You made the fights look so cinematic. Beautiful.
I had no idea you could deflect those gloom balls. 🤯
THAT HEALTH BAR JUST KEPT GOING- 😂😭💀
This video should get more views for the efforts put into this
Thank you I appreciate that
And that moment where he did the “Come at me.” taunt, I was like: “IT IS ON NOW, GANONDORF!!!”
I loved this fight, and the ending moved me. Watching you doing it in this butiful way bring me back these emotions. Thank you
I'm very glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching
Bro you are such a badass , the way you casually walk to avoid the gloom waves
this vid actually taught me that i should try remaining more calm in the fight and maybe it would be a little easier lol
This fight is incredible. The only thing missing is Ol' 'Dorf taking away your targeting, but that's the game's decision.
When I did this fight I wore the Champion’s Leathers so I could harass Ganondorf with sword beams any time he moved out of melee range lol. Great video btw, I appreciate the cinematic use of the camera.
I tried using sword beams but they just do absolutely no damage. And thank you I appreciate that and I'm glad you enjoyed
He’s just standing there, MENACINGLY
Imagine talking all that shit at the start, only for Link to say hold my weapons and just start to beat you mercilessly all in 30 minutes
This is really freaking cool - props to you for making Link super menacing by only walking during the fight!
Well, THIS is the Link we all have known, the hero who has the courage to face all threats alone if he must, the Master Sword's true master and user of the courage's Triforce (even if in this game doesn't appear)
this gave me such an adrenaline rush, amazing job
What a beautiful game. Ten billion percent worth every delay
I get chills every single time I watch the ending. It's so simple but so effective to end right back where you began.
I also love videos of people being creative with Zonai devices or tricks to defeat their enemies... But this here... Wow! That's just pure skill and really impressive! 👏🏻
The choreography is amazing.
The only thing that scares the players is the off centre phase two health bar….
16:21 why did that transition so well
Lore accurate link is the link that destroys anything with only the master sword.
8:15 The flurry rush here was on beat to the music lol
God i love this final boss fight so much❤ Ganondorf really is an amazing final boss fight. 12:26 this has to be the most epic moment in the entire game. Gives me goosebumps everytime. As easy as Demon Dragon may be, he is still my favorite boss fight ever in this game. I 1 time ranked Ganondorf Phase 3 higher, but i can't appreciate the amazing scenery. And the music just slaps so hard in this fight. Easily one of the best games i've played ever😊
16:25 at this point it's just a nobrainer why i put it higher than phase 3 Ganondorf. The music is just to good😅.
Don't get me wrong, i really love the Ganondorf Boss fight itself a lot too. What a great way to end it all😊. Can't wait till the dlc comes.
Tbh this is the first time I see the ganon fight and well second faze ganon looks a bit like demise form skywardsword wich makes sense since all the ganons are reincarnation of demise after he cursed link and zelda to an eternity of fighting
the eternal fighting is each reincarnation of link and zelda fighte ganon
There's actually a theory or two floating around that this Ganondorf is actually the first one, and after being sealed away by Rauru, his malice just kinda eventually became Demise before the events of Skyward sword, and then the curse began by the end of Skyward Sword.
@@desertpunkism253 ohh I haven't heard that one but it makes sense thank you
What’s the matter Ganondorf? Can’t flurry rush a flurry rushed flurry rush.😢
is this the give me back my waifu ganon i know what you did speedrun
well done on the fights ganon is so FUN
absolutely love that the master sword has infinite durability here I put the light dragon horn on it just for immersion lol
I didnt know theres no fall damage in the dragon phase that makes it so much more cinematic
There is if you are ragdoll hit
I experienced it the hard way
I put the gloom club on the end to give Ganondorf a taste of his own medicine (despite the fact that fusing one of his weapons to the master sword is probably tantamount to some hardcore heresy)
This is a perfect video. Good job!
Imagine taking 0 damage from Ganon Demon King, only to get hit by the Demon Dragon’s fire ball sprinkler.
Really awesome video, the way you just calmly walked around was pretty cool
You are insanely skilled, I tried doing this before and i got hit atleast once everytime by his clones. For the next Zelda (wishing for botw3/totk2) they add more combat choices to really show how skilled this link is with a sword.
4:37 I’m still surprised they referenced Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf with this shot.
Okay but Gabon pulling out a katana was unreasonably epic
16:25 Is insanely cinematic
the demon king vs naked dude too angry to die.
i never imagine Link as untouchable. After all, we've seen him fall in narrative back in BOTW. From a gameplay perspective he becomes extremely powerful, but the man is no god. He's been heralded and shown as powerful and fast, but he's not supposed to be equal or greater in power than his opponents per say
Loved at the very end of the dkg fight the music was synced with your actions
Awesome Video!!
