Mostly it worked for me, but somehow the layer weight gave the material something that looked like topographic height lines on a map. Aside from those it looks really delicious. :)

Interesting! Thank you for the feedback.

I think mine came out similar to what you're describing; if so I fixed it by adjusting the "Noise Texture" node scaling. I turned the scale down to about ".3" to ".4" and it looked more like chocolate. Hope it helps, cheers.

Nice video which worked fine for me but the problem I find with a lot of tutorials/youtubers is that it’s all “do this, do that” without any explanation as to why. For those of us that are new to Blender it would be really helpful to understand why we are doing certain things.

I do do this on many of my videos so if it is missing at all in this one, please do check out my other videos as, when put together, you'll get a good grounding of many of the nodes.

Hi. I am new to Blender. I come from 3ds Max as my main software. I found it really similar and cool so I've tried out the Donut tutorial. The thing was that I wanted chocolate glaze and your tutorial came in handy! Tnx! Except for one issue that I've encountered, when I added the Bump the object was made Shade flat, as if no smoothing groups we're present. Applying Shade smooth and fixing normals did not help and after a while, I found out that the Bump Distance was actually doing the problem. Lowered it down to 0.2-0.1 and the problem was fixed. Might have something to do with the transforms, I still dont know, but I just wanted to put this out there in case if someone had similar problem. Thanks a lot dude!

Can we use this as a glossy darker skinned for an avatar ?

how would I add subsurface scattering or adding a bump node to the normal value?

You wouldn't add subsurface scattering to the normal value.
As for the bump node, you'd connect up the output and inputs.
