Thanks guys. Truly appreciate these small ‘nuggets’ of the past that you show us as much as the ‘Walks’. Saying that, I’m still blown away by Ep 50 John Smedley. Again, thank you.
When i lived in Nottingham in the very early 1980's my dad did security work at Victoria shopping centre and he told me about the tunnels underneath the shopping centre (418 yards tunnel) and was originally built for the Great Central Railway completed in 1897 although the Great Central's Nottingham Victoria Station was not completed until 1900. The Victoria Shopping Centre was built on the site of the demolished Victoria Station.
Cool video, ideal starting atmosphere as well. I'm often torn between thinking that car park end is horrendous and should somehow be changed to something more befitting, and then somehow I often think it adds to the randomness and is quite fitting due to the balls up of the thing 😅
I thought the same. Would have been nice to have had a little green with some benches maybe. But then the fact it's hidden like that does add to the mystery.

Aye it was a beautiful station that. Is a video on TH-cam of it being demolished. Very sad.
Good atmosphere filming early morning, I reckon.
Stomach rumbling the whole way.
Awesome video as always hope dynamic duo well
Very cool, the tunnel is definitely interesting and funny that they got the slope wrong. Can't rub shoulders with the peasants!
I know. What a mess up!
