The old Game Over screen just sums up in less than a second that, Luigi actually got to the end but found out his brother was already turned into a painting, and there was no sign of life left on Mario.

That horrified me ever since. O_O

Luigi's Mansion is now being remade for the Nintendo 3DS, which means we'll finally be able to use stereoscopic 3D while playing the game! 😄

No it was unused, the piano suggest it was used in the music room. The start menu one is different soundng.

Shadows And Air Conditioners I can help with that, when you see Mario the first time the long version plays but after that cutscene, you go back down the well and then a shorter cutscene will play and that song is used

The version of that song featured in the video isn't as dramatic as the one in the game. It's the same tune but the fast part at the end was a bit louder in the game, and I think it's a tiny bit faster as well.

Hey! 5:17 Marios painting is not a unused audio. If you enter on the well that is located at the backyard of the mansion and walk a tunel to the end you will end up on King Boos room, trough the head of a lion-garden-fountain like decoration. And a cutscene plays, luigi sees the room and Mario for the first time; begging for help inside the painting but he cannot be reached. This audio is the soundtrack of that cutscene.
Um isn't Mario's Painting used for when Luigi looks at Mario being trapped in a painting? Or is there some sort of difference in length/sound, also Space Room would've been really annoying so I'm glad that wasn't used.
But Space Room is actually IN the final version! Just in a different form...
and about the painting, I actually don't remember the music...

The music "mario's painting" IS used. At least in the european version (Wich I have myself).
Maybe it was removed in the japanese and US-version...
Andre_601 I own the US version (I live in Canada) and that sound is used. I'm thinking maybe it was Japan's version that didn't have it, since Nintendo games are usually released in Japan first.
Actually that painting music is in the final game all you have to do is return to that area and the game will play a shorter version of the original cutscene and will play that music instead

Totaka's Song and Mario's Painting were used in the game.
Totaka's Song is heard when you listen to the Training Room music for a while.
And Mario's Painting was in a cut scene. When you go down the well and look out the little opening down in the well.

I believe the Basher Ghosts were rebranded into the Sneaker Ghosts from Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon. They both have similar designs and they both sneak up on Luigi and scare him. Not only that but they both hide and are invisible until they re-appear just behind Luigi.
