    I've said it before and I'll say it again. My conspiracy theory is that Titan is a shell company owned by Rogue to make their Rogue like look more Prestigious. This Titan trap bar is the Toyota Camry to Lexus ES series (Rogue trap bar).

    Thanks for another great review. I have the Titan trap bar and I’m very happy with it. It seems that the distance between the handles is often overlooked. Trap bars were initially intended for shrugs, where a wider grip is beneficial. For deadlifts, getting the arms closer to vertical is better. The Titan bar handles are 22” apart, compared to 25” for the Rogue. I marked the center of the handles with a piece of tape.

I was so impressed with the th-cam.com/users/postUgkxMwYg0MOXR4M-oGeyBsNSYe1aPOUoRH6D cage that I got the lat pulldown attachment that goes with it. It is equally outstanding. I don't have one complaint other than putting it together is a job. The instructions and packaging of the parts are very well designed and organized. Also, I stripped and damaged the pull down cable the first day, admitting it was my stupid fault, and they quickly replaced it at no charge. I'm 6'5, 280lbs and fit in the cage just fine. Glenn B

    I usually prefer to support innovation by buying originals and not copies. That being said, there are just some things that my budget ain't ever gonna allow for. So, I did purchase this bar instead of the Rogue version. I already had one similar to the CAP one minus the high handles. I did want a rack-able trap bar with the high handles, so I got this one as well. If you don't already own a trap bar I would recommend skipping this one and getting one of the CAP one's with the high handles. The reason is the shorter length is way more convenient for farmers walks in a smaller home gym type set up. The long one is a PITA to try and turn around with in a tight space. If you have bumper plates and lift pretty heavy, then this makes a good second bar.

  • @gunsblazin84
    @gunsblazin84 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I picked up this bar on a Flash Sale. The knurling on my example is easily more aggressive than my Rogue Ohio bar. I went from hardly ever deadlifting to 5x5 400 lbs in about 6 months. Aaand my mind was just blown seeing that I should be using it in a landmine. Thanks Coop!

    Post 2018 Titan Fitness products have all been top notch in my opinion. I am actually ordering the Titan trap bar right now. The Titan SSB V2 is the best SSB I have ever owned or used; and, I have used the original Crepinsek, the Elitefts Yoke and the Rogue SSB. The elitefts SSB Yoke is a close second, but the sleeves are a smaller diameter than a standard barbell and my Titan SSB sleeves are standard diameter. The Rogue SSB I used was not impressive, at all. Rogue's margins are just dumb. I prefer Made in the USA and have always owned Ford Trucks, but when it comes to form vs function in my garage, I am biased towards function. I just cannot justify the prices of Rogue and/or Kabuki Strength products.

  • @orangevideo

    The narrow space between the handles was the deal breaker for me. I’m currently using Titan’s Rickshaw/Farmers Walk for deadlifts ( with stellar results ) until Titan makes a V3 of this trap bar with wider handle placement. Rogue is no doubt the better trap bar, but including shipping charges , it’s twice the cost. It’s great, just not 2X great.

    Almost all of my equipment is Rogue. If it wasn’t for the shipping being $200 for the Rogue TB2 I’d be willing to drop the extra cash. In this case I just can’t justify paying double for the Rogue bar. Might have to pick one of these up.

    There's a new budget-friendly open trap bar I purchased that'll blow you out of the water.
    Fitek open trap bar for $330 US. Only issue might be that they're from Australia and shipping costs would be rough

    My monster light plateholders are also powder coated, I asked rogue why they would powder coat a plate hold when it was obvious it would mare the finish every time you would put a weight on and they gave me an answer like to cut cost but increase durability. I think all sleeves should be SS, and if price is an issue zinc oxide could be an option

    I deadlifted 1,000 lbs on a titan trap bar. it held up great EXCEPT after two months of deadlifting in the 8's and 9s for reps, then the 1,000...the sleeve was flattened some, making getting plates on nearly impossible on one side

    Review the yes 4 all adjustable dumbbells on Amazon. Debating on forking over the money for some power blocks or going cheaper and using that saved money on an echo bike.

    Titan says the weight capacity is 800 lbs but do you think the Titan trap bar can handle 900-1000 lbs? I have done a 900 deadlift on a Rogue trap bar...

  • @TheGooglySmoog

    I used two 2x4s and a couple of farmer carry barbells and made my closest approximation of what a trap bar is. How does it compare to the real thing? Don’t care. I use it infrequently compared to the straight barbell.
