    Hello,
    I'm from Ukraine and I suffer from OCD. I'm really grateful for these videos and to those who suffer right now - I send you lots of support. It's hard to deal with it during the war but even though I still strongly believe that I will get better. And I'm getting better. And you can do it too!))

    Thank you for sharing your experience, I found your videos always helpful! If you have time I would love a video about ROCD/HOCD.
    Thank you!

      Hey Amanda so I recently shared a video covering rocd hope it’s helpful - hocd I haven’t had experience with mainly because I don’t fear being gay so naturally it hasn’t latched at all. If I were I’d be comfortable with it entirely - there’s usually underlying fears in us that it would be awful to be with our partner if it turned out we were intact in the wrong sexuality relationship so I’d start with why would that be so terrible and scary?

      Hey Nicole, so I don’t have experience with this one but I know Nick does and there’s quite a few videos on here.

    Thanks Jade for Answering! Im struggling with Responsibility/Harm OCD. Mainly with scenarios like when im walking outside, what if I oversee or misinterpret a situation where someone could get kidnapped and tortured (i know it sounds crazy, but OCD doesnt care...) and I did nothing against it. I know that I have to apply uncoditounal selfacceptance, but how can i make peace with the idea, that i might be the cause that someone right now might be suffering? I could accept myself for the mistake but what if the person is now suffering? I dont really know where i should dispute

      Hi Loni, I’ll share my thoughts on my next q&a - from my experience probably a bit of the work is around leaving the conversation that’s going on in your head alone in regards to these scenarios while working on unconditional self and life acceptance- you won’t get it immediately- lots of reading and understanding the concept so that it finally makes sense. The biggest confusion is that acceptance means agreement - we aren’t working toward making peace that these things would be fine and we want them it’s just letting go of the idea that our worst case scenario are terrifying and dreadful rather than simply unwanted and also highly unlikely in any case.

    Thanks so much for answering my question Jade, thank you also for opening up about your own experience, there is such a taboo around the topic so it gives me great strength to know I’m not alone. If you do get a chance to do a video around your experience with ROCD and infidelity that would be amazing. Thanks again

      Hey there did you see my recent video on rocd - I recorded it for you and what you asked so I hope it’s useful (if you haven’t already seen 😊)

      Thanks jade, so helpful. Thank you for sharing your experience. We basically did everything the same. I waited a year to tell due to shame eating me alive but I kept asking him roundabout questions about the scenario. I bet there are a lot of people who have been through it. Thanks again, well done for coming through the other side

    Thank you so much Jade!! I absolutely feel so alone sometimes. The group of moms you said you are in contact with is that through OCD recovery?

    Hi Jade. You mentioned in a recent Instagram post that even words that rhymed with trigger words would cause you a lot of distress and I was just wondering what sort of things you did to desensitise yourself from these trigger words or did it just ease up the more you worked on disputing your irrational beliefs? Thanks 🙂

    • @jadet1337
      @jadet1337 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey so I can cover this in my next q&a but basically I would say that it was down to avoidance, the more I avoided things that triggered me, the more things related to that would trigger me. For example if you did loads of exposures on being around knives and became more comfortable with them it’s unlikely the word knife would trigger you anymore, or a scene in a Tv show with people chopping things using knives. So I treated it the same as any trigger - moved towards. Hope that helps x
