I've been struggling a little bit with work life balance but as usual filming and editing these videos have been the fun I needed! thank you that's so kind of you to say!!! for secondment plans, yes we can take part if we make it clear that's a goal of ours. i haven't got any solid plans just now but going abroad for work is definitely a huge goal of mine!

Hi Quanyuan, thank you for watching! Personally the way I’d choose is by comparing the culture of both. Both firms operate in similar areas and especially with audit, the people & culture is what will set them apart. Have a chat with potential colleagues.

Great video again. Feel like a proper weirdo asking questions all of the time, ha! You say you're an assistant manager - can you say how long you've been working there and which roles you've had so far? Guessing it's associate, senior associate, then assistant manager? After qualification that is?
No no dw I’m glad I can answer them! I started in 2018 and I’m the final 6 months of the grad scheme now, with my firm it’s as you said but titles vary across different firms! After qualifying you’ll be working toward manager mostly 😃
@@Devamsha see this is all good to know! Recently got an offer from a top 10 accounting firm for an audit grad scheme in August. I’d say I’m excited to get going, but having watched some of your videos I’m not sure I am 😅😅
Ah well if it helps my last two busy seasons were not as bad as this! Plus WFH, covid, and a lot of other things don’t help.
BIG kudos on the job though!! It’s a great way to start off a career that could literally go in any direction. Audit is just one 😃

Your busy season looks like my non season time.. During my busy season i am a walking zombie who barely speaks unless they ask me if i want anything to eat😩 13 hrs a day

Your busy season does not look long hour lol where me and my auditors friend have to work till midnight daily and only 3 to 4 hours sleep a days for months haha

Hello nice video...I also work for one of the big 4 so i can relate the pressure and time management skills you need handle during busy season....Work from is best during busy season what's your view ?
Hope you’re getting on ok through busy season 😅 WFH has been hit/miss during busy season I think.. lots of inefficiencies but nice to not have to commute on top of a long day and be able to cook etc. You prefer it?
@@Devamsha hehaheha....yeah i am loving this WFH so far my schedule in this busy season has been (Wake up, work...work...work..eat, Sleep and repeat) It's toughest time of the year with no weekends to have some fun.

Real day in the life of an auditor , wake up at noon, have a bowl of fruity pebbles. When mom is going to the beauty salon, catch a ride with her and harass people with jobs. Mom comes and picks you up after her salon appointment and grocery shopping. Get home and cry that mom forgot to get you your funyuns……
don’t go into audit it’s not worth it 😭

@@Devamsha fairplay, I know several of my senior managers are in it for the long haul. I just think that the business model is very harsh on juniors; I know for sure I am not the only one in my class who thinks this
@@danielleoben I was semi joking, don't take my comment too srsly. There are lots of benefits to joining. But ppl do often ignore the downsides as well. For example, a lot of people in my cohort have to do multiple 'busy seasons' in one year, so that your hours are long year round. Another thing is being crushed by unreasonable workloads, which again just depends on who you work with. There's a bunch of other things too, but overall I would say it is better to be more ambitious and start with big 4. If you do not like it, at least you have a year at big 4 under your CV
