love BA work, it’s daily problem solving. Others in the comments you don’t need the tech background, your the between of the stakeholders, sponsors, and the techs or X team building the requirements. Your job is the why, and teamwork. It’s like project management + if you know about PJM work. Been doing it for years and it’s been a great career path.
I’d love to see more ‘day in the life of a BA’ style vlogs! I just started working as a BA after uni in September & it’s so weird starting a role from home & having no idea if I’m doing my job correctly 😅
I’ll keep these comin in that case!! Congrats on your job though and for now.. don’t worry about having an idea 😆 when I just joined I had no idea. Just focussed on staying curious and working hard 😄
@@gbh1135 hey! It’s so strange to see my original comment so many months later 😂 - quick update, I’m nearly a year and half into my role and have now been promoted! Becoming a BA definitely becomes easier with time and I’d definitely say the key to being successful in this role is stakeholder management & becoming a trustworthy source of information (but this develops with time). Depending on your team/project you will be engaging with a wide range of people so it’s important to stay organised and make sure everything is well documented and VISIBLE! I’ve completed a BCS qualification and that has helped me to learn lots of BA techniques/agile methodologies. I studied economics and finance at university.

Hi, amazing video! I have been in business development sales for 3 years and BA definitely seems so much more interesting, less stressful and way more rewarding. Can someone with my background come in and get into big roles in BA? Also where would you recommend starting from
I'm watching this video just to understand how Business analysts works outside India & I am super happy that it's almost similar. Hope one day I will get to work with you. Keep shining ma'am.😊🙏
3:32 What you're describing when you have a set number of tickets that can be in one column at a time is called "WIP Limits" aka Work in progress limits which is most commonly found in Kanban teams which is a Agile framework. Do your teams work in an agile environment?
Is that Ediniburgh I see in the opening scene? Im a new BA living in London but hoping to move up to Edinburgh at the end of the year. Great to meet you
Hi, can you make a video please on how you get in a BA role? I am currently in Accounting and is very eager to shift into a BA role and afterwards PMO. Thanks!
Can non-business majors in a non-technical field transition into a BA career? Any tips or advice on how to become a BA? I want to become a BA but my undergrad is in linguistics and my master's is in instructional design.
I didn’t try them out but had a good idea of what they’d entail and it wasn’t for me right *now*. I had a background with some digital skills and wanted to pursue them!
Hi Devamsha, I was thinking of transitioning from audit to becoming a business analyst. I don't enjoy accounting but I do like the data analytics, reviews and reporting side of the job (unfortunately the rest of audit doesn't interest me). How did you get a business analyst role? I was thinking of going back to school to study technology instead of pursuing my CA. Any advice?
Business Analyst here, you can study Management Information System, and spend time on studying SQL code, you don't have to study IT cause it is more tech-focused. Business Analyst just require basic knowledge about programming and how software carry out tasks. However, you need some understanding regarding business, such as accounting, HR, Marketing, Logistic, and other software related to specific industry (user level at least) . When a client ask for a specific function on a system, you will know what kind of modification is necessary for the system to work properly based on requirement.
Great vlog - so jealous how your manager leads to ensure less stress when out of office! Don't suppose you are able to do an investment advice video? Would be interested to hear your thoughts on crypto!
There are good eggs out there 😇 I would love to chat about this but weary of providing too much ‘advice’ - will maybe do a vid on my own portfolio instead?! Thanks for watching and the suggestion though 😄
Hi Devamsha, was great watching dis video. Im really curious to change my career to a BA and can you share some more tips regarding resume and something related to interview ques too… it vill b vry helpful for me as i dont have any knowledge regarding it. Thanks in advance!!!
is the salary growth rate similar for business analyst and the data analyst? is it true BA has higher chances for the on site opportunities. My dream is to go the US. I wanted to work as a data analyst but i heard for onsite opportunities one should choose BA. need your perspective
I don’t, I work more in product/service design & delivery. I think that kind of BA role is more like data analyst which might be of more interest to you
Hiii I'm Patrick ,right now im working as a fund accountant in a company I'm intrested to switch my role into a business analyst will it is possible for me to switch the role BTW I'm from a commerce background plzz do reply

Thanks very much for sharing your thoughts! I 100% agree about not needing the tech background. I don’t have one myself!
