- Although Free Flashback Express version 5 has long been a fantastic screen recorder, version 6 is now available. Version 6 differs significantly from Version 5. Which screen recorder is better? Both have no time limits, no watermarks, record in high definition, include a cursor highlighter, and can save videos in MP4 and other common formats. We compare the two versions in this video.

That me be true, but there are usually several companies that keep older versions of a lot of software. I see one place with a whole list of them There are reasons why someone may even need an older version. Sure no support for an older version, but if it works you are good. Keep the download just in case.

Dennis, Thanks for the tutorial on Flashback Express and I've downloaded Version 5. Works great but have a question about the record mode settings. I've tried the GDI mode with 30FPS but my recorded videos all play back very choppy and almost like moving still pictures, but the audio is fine. So I changed the record mode to Automatic/MPEG Mode and now the videos and audio all play perfectly, so why do you think this is happening?
I'm not certain, but you might try GDI Mode with 30FPS again. Then when you export it from the player, check the export settings. If you have the frame rate set at 30FPS and the Key Frames set at 60 frames, does that makes a difference at all?
@@dennisray3235 Yea, I did that already and did so again but the same playback problem. Like I said, if I use the Automatic record setting MPEG4 mode it works just fine. When I export the video file it shows fullframe rate at (10FPS) and Keyframes (20) for MPEG4. Also, the file size for the MPEG4 file is considerably less than for the GDI 30FPS mode.
@@user-eq2mh9ju9j What happens when you try recording with GDI Mode with a higher frame rate, like 60FPS?

Does anyone know what is the newest version for W7? The company is kind of jerking me around like it is only for 8+ (I told them I am on 7 so maybe they just went one newer). And they told me it came out in '22. Yeah right, there are versions clear back to 2012. Thanks if anyone knows rather than me maybe having to test a lot of versions. And I am talking about the flashback express not the pro version.

My version 6 gives a limit of 2 minutes?? Thought it was unlimited
Yep, it's suppose to be unlimited per the web site. I suggest uninstalling it. Go the web site, down load a fresh copy, install it and hopefully it will have unlimited time recording. Better yet, use the link I have in the description and get version 5, which is definitely unlimited. I'll tell you a secret, I like version 5 better anyway. Thanks for watching.

Great video, though v6 now only gives 2 mins recording for free so isn't much use unless you pay, and even if you do, you can no longer view or export the native fbr files created in an earlier version, so if you still have the old version, don't bother updating! Is the link you give to v5 ok? Malwarebytes is blocking it due to a Trojan

Hello. why does my FB6 have a 2 minute limit? Any idea?
The Flashback people have a Flashback Pro edition that you can buy, so they made Flashback Express V6 a dumbed down version of the Pro edition, so that the free Express version is a kind of a try before you buy Pro version.
How to set unlimited record time? It's only recorded for 2 mins. Thanks
I reinstalled version 6, and it seemed to record unlimited time, or least much than 2 mins. So, I'm not sure what to tell you. I did have the time saved in the settings turned off, if that made a difference. You could try that. Other than that, I would suggest you use Version 5. I think it is superior to V. 6. See the link I have in the description of my video to download it. V.5 definitely has no time limits and really is a much better recorder overall. Version 6 is total trash. Has limit of 2 mitues of recording, no PC sound, only 720p, useless. V5 from the description below works great, thanks!
