- Flashback Express 5 is a free program that’s really an excellent screen recorder. FlashBack Express makes it a simple process of recording videos to upload to TH-cam or any social media. It has no time limit or watermark, and features a cursor highlighter. This video is about where to get and how to use FlashBack Express Version 5.
Note: Version 6 has been released. It lacks many of the features that made version 5 great. I do not recommend using version 6.

Could you help me please! I recorded my screen with flashback express and saved it. The first time I opened the file, it was absolutely okay, but then the next time I opened it, it had absolutely no sound on it. I haven't exported it to video file yet, and now it has no sound no matter how many times I reopened it. I don't understand how and why it suddenly lost the sound. I want to export it to mp4 or a video file, but if the original one has no sound, then the exported file will also has no sound.
It had sound before (the 1st time I opened it, I spent a few minutes listening to it). Then all of sudden, this happened. Is there any way for me to recover the sound of flashback express file?? Is this due to a crash of the software or something like that?
I have used this software many times, but this is the first time this happened.
I remembered I clicked on CROP option, but this one is for the screen, the images of the video, not the sound, how could the sound suddenly disappear?
The only thing I can think of is to check the menu in the player when you have your file open. Look at Sound, Sound Options, under Playback check the down arrow. Is "default device selected"? If this doesn't help, you just try exporting it to a MP4 file and see if that has sound. Also look in the player when you have the FBR file open, are the sound waves visible on the bottom in the editing area. If they are there, you should be OK when you export your file.

If I turn off the computer while it's recording what's gonna happen to the recording?
I've never tried it, but I would suspect you would either not have a working copy for no copy at all.
I got FlashBack Express but it tells me it does not do PC audio and I have to pay for it.
And it only gives me a 2 minute limit on my recording
Sounds like you have the newest version which is not the version that this video is about. The link in the description takes you where you can get the older version which is the better one. good video Dennis, can we record a streaming video ?
Yes, Flashback Express is capable of recording streaming video. One thing I noticed though is the video colors look lighter when a streaming video is recorded, seems to be that way with most every screen recorder I've tried.
great software few questions 1 can u record your self like as a cam. or just your face over the desktop 2 i imported a avi then converted so the software could read it as the .extension it uses but video was upside down , why is importting a video then converting it make side down and how do i fix it if i can
You can record only from webcam, see the setting at 2:59 in the video. Sorry, I'm not sure how to fix the avi video, you may need to use a video editor to fix it to right side up again. Can anyone out there answer this question?
you record yourself as a square in the desktop ok when you use cam or import avi or a film and convert make sure MIRROR IMAGE is checked, idk why you would need this. also im not sure purpose of importing videos, is i a stand alone player too. AS for the cam YES you TECHNICLY can record you house if you stand back and talk and stuff but you ALWAYS be infront of the screen you could use a chroma key function in an editor to curt that out possible as for recording your house click CAM ONLY you can record yourself in your house

When i try to record gameplay it shows a black screen or just my desktop and it only record the audio
Flashback will not work well for recording games in the default settings. Try this, go to settings in the menu, then Record Mode, in that select I want to record moving video or games. That should work for you. If it doesn't, you may need to use a different screen recorder like OBS or oCam.

I noticed in the webcam section lets you open a window of the cam while recording. Does it let you record the file window and the camcorder simultaneously or only one at a time?
You can record with either web cam picture in screen with the file window or with just the full screen cam. See the settings at 3.07. Thanks for watching.

When i export no matter what format i can’t find it in my desktop. Please help me solve this
When you are exporting the file are you selecting your desktop as the location where you want the file to be saved? In the video I selected my video file, so you have a choice of where you want it, as shown at 8:25, but I suppose you already know that. In which case if you are selecting your desktop and it doesn't appear there, I don't know how to answer your question without being there to see what's going on. Maybe you could try saving to some other location to see if that makes a difference. Sorry I can't be of more help. Maybe someone else out there has any suggestions that would help J Sting?

Another question does this recorder need very high emd pc specs to atleast make it record the game i want to record cause my pc isnt really good lol
Flashback Express is not really good for game recording. The Flashback people have another free program called FBX for game recording, you can find it at: fbx.gg/. The computer requirements are Windows 10, 8 GB of RAM or 4 GB at the very least and Nvidia GeForce with nvenc support, AMD Radeon with VCE support or Intel GPU with QuickSync support.
Gave it some thought and got more to add. You could try recording your game with Flashback Express using FPS at 60. It could work. If not, before trying FBX, try OBS Studio. See my video at: th-cam.com/video/JKtCmMdHQIY/w-d-xo.html. It might do a better job for you than either Flashback Express or FBX. Also on OBS Studio use 60 FPS for game recording.
Question is flashback pro's editing software good enough????
It probably is pretty good considering their video recorder is good, but it is not free and there so many very good free video editors out there you could use instead. For example there is Shotcut (the one I use) or Openshot (both have most of the features you need). Windows 10 has it's own video editor in apps and works well for simple editing. Check out TH-cam for videos on free video editors for more ideas.
How do you save it in a different format besides .fbr
Flashback Express will only save in .fbr it's own format, but after the video is completed you can export as another format besides fbr include mp4. See my video at 7:30 minutes, where I start to explain how to export your video to another format. It's very easy.
