Just because a place has rocks doesn't mean its Earth, plenty of places in this Solar System alone have Terran surfaces, not to mention the uncountable number of other systems in the universe.
may not be so rare as you think, according to some scientific calculations there may be millions of planets just like earth suitable for life in visible universe, its just the horreoundous distances between them is why we haven't spot any yet
well yeah because mars is D E A D its core is cold theres no electromagnetic field like earth has meaning its most likely ravaged by radiation its literally been dead for 4 billion years
We can only imagine how genuinely sad the engineers who developped Opportunity were in 2019 and how immensely proud and grateful they were at the same time.
I'm so used to seeing orbital images of Red Mars, but to see it up close like this is just so surreal and beautiful. It's so similar to Earth, and yet so different. Thanks to the scientists and engineers who made this possible, and the 3 robots that brought us these images.
This feels awfully familiar. Almost creepy how terrestrial this seems. I wouldn't even bat an eye if someone told me it was a desert or if someone was standing in there it would take me a bit to think "Wait how is that person on Mars?"
I think that's part of why people are so obsessed with Mars as a possible location for extraterrestrial life, even if it's not necessarily the most likely place in the Solar System for current extraterrestrial life. Mars looks more like Earth than anywhere else in the Solar System, apart from Earth.
Well, it *is* a desert. Wind currents, barely any water, it makes sense its terrain would be like this. I just never expected deserts to look so alike to one another. It's weirdly familiar yet unknown, and I think that's great
It's the fact that I'm here watching in awe a planet that is millions of kilometers away, not even knowing that maybe with the rate the technology is developing my own children could see those places for real, makes this video memorable.
If there was liquid water its a very very high chance that there was life or 1cell life existed in other planets which by that mean aliens are real "high chance"

Sleep deprivation is a recipe for depression. I hope you are well and are able to sleep at ease soon. Release any stress you have with physical activity and you'll feel more calm.
What I find absolutely mind-blowing is that I often forget what I'm actually seeing, it looks like a desert here on Earth and then I think "Wait a minute: it's another planet, one of the farest places ever reached by mankind! OMG!"
I wasn't just watching the landscape of Mars. I was actually walking on the 'ground' of Mars. And looking up at the sky I wondered where was Earth. So weird that you can traverse mars for miles and miles forever without ever coming across a town, river, or even a single plant... it's so lonely over there
ngl the thing I want most is to go up on a planet with all I need to survive and die alone up there and everyday I wander around and explore i'd find peace in the sunsets and take videos to send to kids not mine tho the kids I never had and at the end of it all i'd be remembered as "the man on the mars".
@@calvinmilleriii2628 Well that's depressing. It wouldn't be peaceful though, humans actually start to go insane when left alone like that. It's been shown time and time again in psychology, leads to hallucination and psychosis. We aren't a species meant for true solitude like this.
They're caused by wind, and the waves are made of sand. So they're technically small sand dunes. The Martian atmosphere is very thin, and so even the strongest gusts on Mars are only equivalent to a strong breeze on Earth. So, the dunes are very small. that's all you need to read, another thought below This can compared to water on Earth. Water is much heavier and denser than sand, making it harder to move. So the waves are similar sized. The wind on mars is weak as sand is easy to move and the wind on Earth is strong as water is hard to move.
Depends on what was actually there before. They could actually be ripple marks (stuff we get to see on Earth due to the action of water). There are 2 types- (i) wave ripples- formed due to wave action on beaches that creates symmetrical ripples on the sand and (ii) current ripples- formed due to the unidirectional flow of water like in a river of soft sediment like sand or clay to produce asymmetrical ripples. Ripples aren't that difficult to find if you don't live in a city. Dunes are just scaled-up versions of ripples that form due to wind action on loose sediments like sand. Given a large enough time, they can lithify and form what you've seen in this video.

over there, like the salt flats and the Arizona sand and rocks. Kubrick said he did his best filming there, The moon he called it,
The sand in the middle of the crater looks like waves of water
Or just... waves
Water ice
@@highnourishment4751 looks like that but the crater is near the martian equator
They're caused by wind, and the waves are made of sand. So they're technically small sand dunes. The Martian atmosphere is very thin, and so even the strongest gusts on Mars are only equivalent to a strong breeze on Earth. So, the dunes are very small.
that's all you need to read, another thought below
This can compared to water on Earth.
It's waves of storms
