    " if We had made it a non-Arabic Qur'an, they would have said, "Why are its verses not explained in detail [in our language]? Is it a foreign [recitation] and an Arab [messenger]?" Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe - in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place. " ( Quran 41 : 44 )

    Mashallah this man is so well read and has done his research. Always a pleasure to hear his lectures. But one comment that would be very incorrect is saying Allah has feminine or masculine in him. Allah has no gender as he is beyond the earthly realm; nevertheless Allah gave women the womb and with that He blessed her with one of his greatest attributes - Reham

    Sorry to tell that professor Lawrence misunderstands Rahman Raheem. The three letter verb is Rahama which is have mercy on. It may also refers to womb. But the origin is the verb

      Not speaking Arabica, but as a kind we learn meaning of Rahman a Rahim.. Most gracious and most merciful as rough translation.. but to your point of womb, lots of time is also mentioned as "He is a sanctuary to all or of all.. which womb is almost perfect synonym for it.

    About the issue in Malaysia, the non-muslim who uses Allah are not "Malay Christians" but "Sabah and Sarawak natives Christians".
    The word Allah is used by them because the Western Christian missionaries chose "Allah" and many other Islamic terminologies in their Malay bible. The missionaries removed the "White Jesus" image, and create a Malay and Javanese Jesus images, and used Islamic words to confuse the Malays and bridge the gap between Christianity (a foreign concept) and Islam. The Malays didn't pick it up, but since the Malay language is the lingua franca they keep on using the Malay bible to preach to other natives in Southeast Asia.
    About the Syrian Christian guy who asked the question... The early Arabic Bible didn't use "Allah". "Allah" in Christianity in the Middle East is a thing that come later.

    (الرحيم) is the pure mercy on the beilevers.

      @@onedirectionlover08 Islam is primarily a doctrine of duty. Sufism strives to understand the "will" of Allah. The ordinary Muslim generally does not benefit from profound considerations. If he can fulfill his religious duties as much as possible, then that is more than enough for him. In my opinion, Sufism is more suited to Christianity or Buddhism than to a doctrine of duty such as Islam.

      Allah of the Quran cannot be the same even if there is name used by others. When we say Allah of the Quran, then it means Who is explained in the Quran by Allah Himself. His attributes are His Asmaa and these serve as a model for the human self. Read the book The Human Self and Allah by G A Parwez to know more. The Quran gives us a system of Deen.. to solve human problems. I wish he had looked at the verses mentioning orphans and needy..

    • @MauricePerla

      Unlike in the West, theology --i.e. an attempt to understand the nature of God-- became the stepchild in Arab sciences. This was quite in line with the views of Muslim scholars that we should not speculate too much about God and the High --this reeked of arrogance.

    Professor Lawrence made reference to a woman who was a nurse, who tended to him as she worked nights. Her hands would tenderly care for a man who was not her husband, nor a member of her family. May Allāh swt bless her for showing compassion: unlike some Muslim women who would find it anathema to come in contact with a male.

    • @muhammadbenjuraij7734
      @muhammadbenjuraij7734 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not true ! Muslim women and men avoid any physical contact at all times when not related closely or married except Muslim nurses in hospital!
      I’m in and out of hospital a fair bit. Nearly all the Nurses in my city are Muslim half are practicing observant muslimahs! The ruling of no contact is relaxed for medical reasons however that doesn’t mean that men nurses are not preferable for men because they are and there are limits to the contact allowed between nurse and patient and there are times and situations when a male nurse is obligatory! If this becomes obligatory and there’s a dire situation then even then a female nurse will be permitted until danger has passed or a male nurse is found!
      White and western women think nothing about physical touch with the opposite gender and hence adultery and illicit relationships out of wedlock are the norm! For Muslims this behaviour is absolute debauchery and we reject it and the sharia closes all doors that lead to it hence we are commanded to never be alone with an unlawful female as we are commanded to lower our gaze from the opposite gender and we are commanded to dress modestly with clothes that veil the shape of the body and the skin …

    There is no other word to describe it, but in English the word is "simping." And it disgustingly came to be synonymous with western men. And look where we are now: cucking is celebrated and normalized now among western men, in addition of course to western men now wearing heals and skirts. Facepalm. May God have mercy on you guys.
