    What software did you use to set margans?

  • @monamonae9562
    @monamonae9562 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am new to this but I love your videos! Does the printer automatically connect with the cutter? You print your design and then upload that design to the cutting software? Is there a video that shows this process?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This process varies depending on what cutter you have. But basically, the cutting software sends the file to print from your sublimation printer. You then put the printed sheet into your cutter, where it gets precision cut.
      Here's how this process looks on a Silhouette Cameo: th-cam.com/video/36beEIKFDIU/w-d-xo.html

    I am new to 202 and my project was suppose to be red and green but instead it came out peach and some other color. It was pretty but not what I wanted. I changed the paper to a different sub paper to see if it was just the ink it self but the colors came out perfect. I think the 202 does not give out true color when heat hits it. I have wasted over 20 sheets trying to get the right color but to no avail.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Sawgrass SG500 has 3 different ink options. This product will work best with Sublijet-HD/UHD ink and is also compatible with EasySubli inks. This will not work with ChromaBlast.

    Hello! From my understanding of sublimation it is a dye that normally fuses with cloth fibers so all you can feel is the fabric. With the subliflex it seems like the paper is fusing with the ink and then the paper with the fabric. It looks like you can still feel the layer of the print on the fabric unlike normal sublimation onto a tshirt. My question is, in terms of appearance on the tshirt how is this different from normal vinyl thats cut and heat transferred? Besides the Shiney finish, it looks the same.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You are correct. The feel and finish are going to be very similar to heat transfer vinyl.
      True sublimation, where you dye the cloth fibers, has zero feel and looks beautiful. The drawback is that there is no white sublimation ink. So any white in your image is filled in by the white of the garment, which is why black and dark colored garments will not work for sublimation.
      Products like Subli-Flex 202 allow you to customize dark garments with your sublimation printer. But the drawback there is that you are using a heat transfer material, which doesn't have the look and feel of true sublimation.

    It’s correct to say that sublimate using Subli Flex to 100% black cotton has the same results that if using a DFT printer? Any advantages over DFT?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The final product may look similar, but they are two different products. Subli-Flex 202 is a printable vinyl material that has to be cut and weeded before pressing. DTF is printed right onto the film, with an adhesive agent added afterward. Subli-Flex 202 is definitely the more affordable product, as DTF printers can be very expensive.

    I cant get my subliflex to adhere to clothing.. it keeps peeling off. I followed all the instructions and still have no luck.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The common problem with Subli-Flex is the result of peeling the carrier sheet before the transfer has COMPLETELY cooled. If you're in a warm climate, you may find the need to place your transfers in front of a fan to cool down. If you have stone countertops, they also work great to cool down transfers.

      If it's lifting with the plastic backing, then it either hasn't cooled enough or there was insufficient pressure. If you live in a warm climate or are working in a warm room, you may need to take additional steps to ensure the transfer is completely cool before peeling. Placing the garment in front of a fan or on a cool stone countertop should help.

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One thing we've noticed about the 202 is that you have to let the transfer cool COMPLETELY before peeling. If you're working in a warm climate, you can use a fan to help cool it down. When moving the transfer off the press and over to your cooling area, be careful that nothing lifts off the garment. When peeling the carrier sheet off the finished product, use a rolling motion instead of pulling up and away.
