    Ive been researching this and the nedland like crazy. This trailer looks nice but some key differences ive found for anyone else looking. Nedland has 4 inch cylinders for both lifting and reeving cylinders. Reeving cylinders have nitro hardened rods on the nedland to avoid pitting and cylinder seal failure due to rocks and debris denting the rods which you would eventually have on chrome coated rods. All corners are gusseted and welded fish plates reinforce all high load areas of the frame. 18 ply j load rated tires. 13hp honda engine also. The protainer does have a conventional gooseneck and overall shorter length if your specifically lookijg for a gooseneck. Nedland is slightly more expensive also with the gooseneck attachment. I hope this helps someone

      I am fortunate enough to be buying a used Nedland tomorrow and I've been watching videos on various roll offs as the excitement of the purchase has re-sparked an interest in me. This one is pretty good but Nedland is the best that I've seen... Well made, lots of gusseting and overbuilt. I also really appreciate the swappable nose locks and flip up locks for smaller bins as well.

      @darkhorrus congrats! I'm really leaving towards keystone. They are closer to me, I really want a standard gooseneck and shorter length, and I don't plan on keeping this trailer forever.

      Sounds like Nedland better.... what about idlerolloff trailers compared to the other 2?

    Sweet trailer, I’m about to order the 20ft protainer. Thanks for posting, this is one of the better videos out there on this trailer

    Have the same trailer. Dude filled my 15 yarder up with tile and mortar. 12k lbs. Loaded it up no problem. Dumping it def struggled. Had to shovel some. Won’t be allowing that kind of anymore.

      I bet that was a fun haul! I never let anyone rent more than a 10cy can now for heavy loads

    I recommend you get the Ft. Knox lock that goes over your set screws also. Someone can loosen your sets screws, drop your gooseneck, insert their own and roll off. No pun intended. I’m still waiting on my Nedland setup. Ordered December 3rd last year. Praying it gets delivered soon. Thanks for your video and the information.

    Bro the hydraulic jack on remote control sold me!! Makes things soooo much easier!
    Also the 8k axles de-rated is genius. Did you ask Protainer to do that for you or did they offer it up front? What was the cost difference to go that route vs the 7k axles?

    • @aslife3813
      @aslife3813  ปีที่แล้ว

      They were standard on that version, they are torsion axles so no springs or anything. Much better weight management.
      Couldn’t tell you the difference on 7k axles as I didn’t have to ask for them.
      Congrats on the new Mack! That thing is sweet, I’m gonna get a standard cab tow rig next and put a driver in it after I get more cand

    I called Pro Tainer and they mentioned they has 2 trailers. So, is the stronger trailer a truck axle? Looking to Protainer as well if I can gain momentum here in Kentucky

    • @aslife3813
      @aslife3813  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If they install 10k axles, you can haul huge 30-40cy cans with triple axles set up. But you have to consider the length of the trailer/truck combo. That’s a huge set up, there’s a reason why the big boys buy roll off/hook lift trucks instead

  • @davidc5808
    @davidc5808 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    is your truck on airbags? does the 2500 have any problem towing super heavy loads?

    • @aslife3813
      @aslife3813  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No air bags, I currently run Timbren bump stops. I have a video on those if you’re curious. And no it seems to handle them well. However, a dually will always be the best option for heavy towing.

    Do you know if it’s possible to swap out an electric motor for a gas motor on that trailer ?

    • @aslife3813
      @aslife3813  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can put an electric backup but not sure how you’d get it to run the hydraulic pump if the the gas motor goes down. Just change your oil and keep up on your maintenance

    • @aslife3813

      No camera, just mirrors and lots and lots of practice.
      My dumpsters are roughly 14’ long rail length
