Trailer FLIPS Heavy Load on the Highway: Nightmare Situation

- A Roofing Crew's Bad Day Turns into Quick Clean-Up Success Story! After losing control of their load and flipping their trailer on the highway, we were called to remove the debris ASAP.
We arrived in a matter of minutes, bringing a dumpster and returning with a skid steer and grapple bucket attachment.
Despite the nerve-wracking traffic, we were able to clean up the debris in just an hour or two. After finishing our regular dumpster business routes for the day, we came to haul away the HEAVY load from the highway. It was quite an unexpected adventure, but we were happy to help!
It was very clear that the load was likely way too heavy for the previous trailers' truck and bumper pull style hitch, causing it to lose control. But in the end, we got it taken care of for them!
7.69 tons. Awesome job!
Winner Winner, chicken dinner. The answer was 7.68 tons. Nearly got it exact. The closest guess I've seen in the comments!Find me on Facebook or find my company number and message me a good address! I'll shoot ya a hat.
@@rollingops million dollar question.. which would've been better for this load, a hooklift? 😂 I'm not certain a hooklift could've budged it. Thoughts?
@@muletowndumpsters I know for a factttt, some of the under CDL hooklifts wouldn't be able to do it. Nor should they ever attempt it. The larger ones would do just fine. But another reasson why I like cable setups a lot
@@rollingops that has to be gross total right? Cause I would find it a stretch you had 15,000lbs of material plus a 3500lb under carriage plus a 12-1500 dumpster. Thta would be a lot of weight for a pair of 7-8k axles.
@danlabonty9720 I plead the 5th. But I'll just say these trailers perform very well. But I don't recommend overloading them. But it happens sometimes. And 7-8 tons can fit in that bin. And that's no including bin weight. That's why we typically tell roofers to only load 40sq of shingles. That comes out to right at about 5 tons.
Dude that jump on the trailer was nuts!! I thought it was reverse video for a second!
Haha thanks man!
You are an awesome worker, getting all that mess cleaned up by yourself. I would figure there is 17K-18k pounds in that dumpster. The officer was also amazing as he blocked off traffic to help keep you safe. Good thing you have a tracked skid steer so you don't have to worry about flat tires from roofing nails. Ask me how I know!
Nice work bro, they clearly called the right man for the job. This may lead to future work, who knows maybe another avenue of revenue. I appreciate your videos. They're very interesting.
I hope so! Appreciate you watching, man!
4.66 tons! Nice work. Great video.
You're a hard worker doing all that by yourself! 👍
Appreciate you!
5 tons. Great job!!
ive been watching a few of your videos and i really enjoy them! I honestly thought you had more subscribers with how quality the videos are! Keep it up!
Thanks! Yea, where are all the subscribers at?!?! Lol
holy crap who else saw him jump in the trailer at the end???
😀
Jumping up there like a spider monkey all jacked up on Mountain Dew
Sweet job safety is of utmost importance working along a highway i always carry cones with me just incase but never had a job like that. I’ll go with an even 13,000 lbs
Good work 💪🏼
To the moon! 🚀
7.08 tons great job man!
Another great video. Awesome job hate seeing you so close to the freeway! My guess is for 6 1/2 ton 🤔
Great video, aced it! 6.7 tons...
I was guessing 15k!! Great video 🔥🔥
4 1/2 tons great content man!
I’m not sure where you’re from but we have a highway service here in Texas called HERO (Highway Emergency Response Operator). They drive around and deploy to stalled vehicles, help change your tire, accidents, etc. They have trucks with the lighted signs on them. They’ll set up cones around that curve and put their truck at the end with their sign to move over. For this instance, there would probably be two trucks as a precautionary.
Oddly enough, I was in Texas last year and saw that! Thought it was awesome. I believe we do have a version of it in IL, but closer to the higher populated areas. In places like Springfield and Chicago.
@@rollingops that could be the same here. My company operates along the I-35 corridor from Austin to San Antonio. I see them everywhere. However, when we take trips. I hardly see them unless we’re getting closer to a metropolis.
This max d trailers are a beast I bought a package and first thing I did added 16 ply trans eagle tires add I have a weight ticket from land filled boy……… it was heavy and haul it with no issues
I was wondering what you were doing on the side of the highway when I was going to Hannibal! I thought maybe you lost your dumpster! LOL
I figured everyone who saw it might have thought that! Dangit, lol
You really walk fast picking up stuff in the ditch. ;-D
😆
Super job. Would be great if the other company reached out to you for a ,"thanks!"
Great content
Thank you
Much appreciated! They actually drove by, they were thankful when I followed up with them
Where are you dumping at over in quincy? I had to pick a dumpster up over there last week. Had to drag it back to jacksonville.
Lagrange MO is your best bet. But opposite direction of where you'd be going
Great video! What happened to Keegan’s hand looks like he punched a wall or something. 😂 my guess is 5.6 tons
Oh man, go back a video or 2 and you will see haha
So was 8:00 where you got cleared to use the inside lane? Lol when I saw you going out into the lane......whoo! Scary!
Yep! I talked to the deputy right before, and he scooted a little farther out! Was putting a little too much weight on one side. He was super accommodating. Some cars still just didn't care!
6.3 ton nice video
Get some caution more cones out there bro! This is just another niche you can get into.👍🏻. Get reflective safety vests too!
Yea, I responded to this job a little too much in a hurry. Definitely could of grabbed some caution items from the shop!
here in Wisconsin, our landfill would never accept dirty shingles. they must be clean. (just shingles, no wrappers, metal ect.....) are you allowed to dump shingles like that?
Yep! You can "recycle" clean shingles at several places way cheaper. Otherwise they will take it as regular trash at the landfill. Just expensive because of weight
Another great video! Great job as always! I would say 9 tons! Take care and continue your growth!
Appreciate it man! We will try to keep moving forward!
When you were loading bin in trailer was your truck on neautral? It kept rolling back while going up?
Yep! Easiest way to load something heavy and prolongs the life of the winch
What kind of grapple buckets do you use. Brand and size. I’m about to get into the skid business. And you have giving me many tips watching your videos. Thanks
Jenkins and I believe it's 72ish inches. The thing is built tough. I know a few scrap yards that only use Jenkins on their skids. So they are very well loved
Thanks for following the journey man!
@@rollingops thanks for the reply. I’ll look into those. Keep up the great work and videos!!
Do you ever have to deal with franchise agreements between larger waste management companies and the city? If so, how do you navigate that? I enjoy your videos man. Keep up the good work.
I don't, but I have heard of others that struggle with them!
Weight in that trailer is 7800lbs

Another "crime fighter" leap onto the trailer LoL

Not a bad idea! Thanks for the idea!

7.2 ton. Who paid the bill for this load, the state? I know the company has to ultimately pay.
They just paid it directly to me. And the state then basically washed their ha ds of the issue! Had it been something I didn't do right away, it probably would of played out differently.
Really close guess!

Actually, over double!
