About 5 hours in total with some small problems with the screws holding the engine cover, as they were rusty. Had to cut one corner of the cover. The rest was quite straightforward. Next time it shouldn't take this long. Great video. Thank you
Hi, I have changed the fuel filter on my Passat 2008 diesel recently and was also worried about the car potentially not starting. I filled the fuel cap with diesel after changing the filter up to the top, so there was a bit of fuel coming out when placing the top with hoses. The car started first time, without any problems.
@@golfwagen4173 best to put in a little injection cleaner as well mix it with the derv in the filter case and let the engine idle to give the injection a clean also in case any shit/ water got past the old filter to the derv pump it will help and the cleaner will return with the derv return pipe back to the tank and will clean the fuel lines if your miss firing on idling this filter type do not have a water drain plug fitted like the old type filters and is a problem in winter on my vw b6 Passat I have taped and dyed one with a 10 mill bolt and seal on the bottom if your pump in the tank sucks up water the ecu shuts it down and you have to reset the ecu to make it work its a pain but a drain plug solved this from Burt in the UK
The last part helped me sort out the Service Now warning on my Caddy 1.9 TDI. Definitely worth watching until the end. Thank you.

It depends on the engine code.
The 1.9 TDI BXE takes 3.8 liters and the fuel filter code from Mann is PU 825 X
